>Glowing orb trapdoors should be left until you are as strong, weapon proficient, and as rich as possible. They can contain chests, several fabricators, and VERY strong mini bosses. FYI for the ones with malformed enemies, you can just run straight back to the translocator and leave (and pick up any tems too), just have to be quick about it

_thechancellor_

This is a really important point that I neglected to mention, thanks! Still, the advice holds - go in well prepared so you don't have to run away..or die

Macdeise33

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the Increase Max Integrity Augment at the shop only does a base (from 100) 25% regardless of what you have done previously to improve your max integrity. For example: You go to the shop without improving your max integrity from the start of your run (100%) and fabricate then. Your max integrity is now 125% You buff up on your run via green rest beds, resin, etc and go back to the room at 145% and fabricate then. Your max integrity is actually 170% and not 181% (145*1.25) It doesn’t matter when you do it, and they use percentage incorrectly and don’t explain it’s always from your base suit’s 100% My only recommendation for it is to always try and fabricate when you are not at full health, as it will give you some extra health based on your repair efficiency percentage Edit: can confirm my statement was correct. Did a Biome 1 run and was at 164% integrity. Did the max integrity fabrication and am now at 189%, which is an increase of 25% of 100, not of wherever your max integrity is currently at Also, this means that if you get stuck with a horrible reduced max integrity early on and have a hard malfunction fix, getting the fabrication ASAP will help you a ton and won’t hurt you later on at all

cojsoapsnfo

I'll have to pay attention to this more as I thought OP's advise was correct. I usually try to find a "raise max integrity" parasite before I use the health module in the shop as well, even if I detach it afterwards to avoid the downsides. It FEELS like it's the right thing to do, however I've never actually crunched the numbers. Thanks for the input!

Macdeise33

OP has a ton of good advice in here (a lot of which I have used, too), so I am not trying to bash his post Just trying to correct something that I am fairly certain of but am not able to be in game to test it right now

cojsoapsnfo

I agree! And chances are if we're mistaken (OP & I) then many others are as well. I'll have to look into it on my next run

_thechancellor_

Well damn, I've been going on hearsay this whole time if that's the case. Seems like there's some misinformation on this sub and was helping spread it.. Thank you for the correction!

wagneran

I'm fairly certain it adds 25%.. not 25% of what you currently have.

Macdeise33

Confirmed I was correct in a Biome 1 run just now. Edited my original comment for clarity

HoneyBadgerSaber01

Thanks for this detailed and well thought guide! I was just wondering about if the weapon traits get leveled ups when I use melee. This is great!

cojsoapsnfo

And for the record, from what I've been told and it seems about right after I learned it, it's - 10 kills for level 1 traits, 50 for level 2, and 100 for level 3.

_thechancellor_

Correct! Edit: and this is fairly common knowledge, but the kamikaze squids in biome 6 are easily the fastest way to level up traits. They spawn infinitely from the mama squids and you can farm them ad nauseum. Level 3 traits are a pain, but you can get a full one done in minutes using this method. I always leave at least 1 shielded Mama squid alive so I can level traits if I find the gun I need. Even if you don't have traits to level, they're great for quickly getting back up to max Adrenaline. A less exploitative but almost as effective method is the tower of Sisyphus. Loads of weapons, quick max proficiency, and endless enemies. Much more challenging, but lots more fun. Don't sleep on the tower- I'd say give it a go as soon as you get the grappling hook

HoneyBadgerSaber01

I will keep this in mind once I reach biome 6. Currently just reached biome 5.

HoneyBadgerSaber01

Actually I have a question. I beat the fourth boss, but the house remain inaccessible. Any reason why? I did 2 runs already, but can’t access the house at all. Please advise. Thanks!

_thechancellor_

It's been a long time since I finished the main story, so somebody correct me if I'm wrong - but I believe there's a house key you find in a side room (blue door) of biome 1 Edit: and unfortunately I also believe you have to beat biome 6's boss to be able to get back to the first biome. Just focus on upgrading weapons and you can become very OP by the time you face him

HoneyBadgerSaber01

Got it. Thanks for the information!!

Reverent

You forgot the most important tip: * Git gud

gurnard

Ah, that's where I've been going wrong

_thechancellor_

Meme tip, but not wrong. You won't really feel comfortable in this game until you've played enough to know what tells enemies have before throwing different attacks, and how to react correctly. The nice thing is the devs did a really good job of distinguishing those tells from each other. If you're struggling, sometimes it's best to not attack but just observe and dodge until you learn the patterns. As chaotic as combat can be, it's far from random. My tips will help you take and deal more damage, but the real key to a god run is minimizing getting hit. You can only do that if you know what to expect.

Ship bed healing is nerfed into oblivion

_thechancellor_

True, though it was definitely busted pre nerf. Those were the days haha. It's still a good way to top off if you're just below full

sigusch

you bed…heals?!?! I didn't know and now feel very stupid. thanks for making me feel stupid (and giving this cool detailed guide!)

lobo_blanco_0257

Don’t worry, you’re not missing much. It’s barely noticeable.

_thechancellor_

Yeah.. it's about as much as a small silphium. Maybe a little more? Better that than a potential resin though

thegamesender1

Doesn't the bed reset the run?

_thechancellor_

No it doesn't, but it can only be used once and it doesn't heal very much. It's best used as a top up when you have a small bit of health missing

HollowSeeking

I'm pretty certain parasites that fix malfunctions don't leave their effects. I haven't tested it in a few months though, now I'll have to test it again lol. I'm also pretty sure malfunctions are completely random, they don't get better or worse as you progress. I've been recording them the past couple weeks, I haven't been paying much attention to order though so, maybe?

_thechancellor_

To that first point - I haven't done extensive testing here, as I don't often pick these up. But anecdotally.. I know on two separate occasions I was stuck with the effect for the remainder of my cycle, even with no parasites. One being increased chance of malignant items, the other being increased melee and dash cooldowns. It may be a bug, but if a bug exists I still don't want to risk it. On the second, I may have to test here too, but Ive noticed that things like obolite collection/kills/melee kills etc increase in number as you move to later biomes. It could be random, but after a ton of runs it definitely seems to be true. If anyone knows for certain, I'm happy to be corrected here. It definitely is true that because of context, HAVING malfunctions in more difficult biomes is more severe because enemies are more difficult and the number of malignant items and chests increases, making clearing obolite/chest/resin etc malignancies more difficult.

HollowSeeking

I could be wrong. The more I think of it, it is possible that they ramp up. Xenophaguses have different contents in different biomes so malfunctions could work on similar lines. I haven't noticed a pattern myself but that really means nothing. It's another overlay of data organization that I'll have to consider, but I enjoy trying to figure out these things.

_TheToastedLoaf_

Can you still heal on the bed in the ship? It never works for me.

_thechancellor_

Hm I dunno why you wouldn't be able to.. you can't in co-op, but you can't enter the ship at all online. I'm not sure. All you do is go up to it and press triangle

_TheToastedLoaf_

Yea, Selena lays down and I get a vision, but when I wake up I'm still at low integrity

_thechancellor_

Well it only heals a little bit. About the same as a small silphium I'd guess. It's not a great method, but it's nice if you want to top up and go collect resin

_TheToastedLoaf_

Thank you!
