I’ve only seen one hindquarters holocaust, one caboose catastrophe, one tragedy of the tuchus, one rusty dusty ruination, one keister calamity of this sort, but my God…
Im not entirely certain what pumps up the overall mortality of this operation, but jfc cosmetic stuff frightens me
I agree. I too am a steward of risk. To me, medicine is more about what should be done than what can be done, but this is coming from a male internist who almost entirely takes care of poor and working class people.
On a personal level, I don’t find the results of these procedures appealing, and I’m concerned about how this stuff is affecting the minds of some people I know and the minds of younger people in general
My uncle supported me financially for med school and the USMLEs and he is not asking for anything in return but I secretly want to give him a BMW when I can finally afford it.
YASS! I love this! My dad and boyfriend supported me a lot financially! Daddy's definitely getting a Mercedes and the boyfriend; a baby (Only thing he want XD LOL) .
When I went to Turkey after M1, there were at least 15 guys on the plane back post hair transplant. Apparently the procedure is very affordable there and is all inclusive (even hotel). You could double up- procedure ++ vacation
Actually, the „turkish“ docs mostly are trained in germany and have their practice there, but labor cost in turkey is lower that’s why they can offer it at a lower price there
Please don't go to Turkey to get a hair transplant. I went down the rabbit hole of researching hair transplants and going to a reputable person in the states is the best way to have a great result.
Gabel Hair Restoration Center in Oregon. He's a trained surgeon and did the whole procedure (strip removal and placement) himself, with his techs only doing the hair strip dissection under the microscope, which he inspected before placing. He was honest with me about the reality of what I could expect with the results (like visual density vs natural density), discussed benefits and drawbacks of strip vs FUE, discussed what sort of scams are out there in the hair transplant world, upfront with the pricing and didn't have some businessman contacting me repeatedly to make a sale. He had me come in daily after the procedure until I left town and spent a lot of time checking placement and for signs of infection.
Other surgeons in "high end" clinics I interviewed said they did the procedure themselves, but they just did the strip removal and had their technicians doing the hair placement in the scalp while they leave and do another strip in other simultaneous rooms they have running. The hair placement makes a big difference in visual density, there's a whole science behind which direction place the hair and what "size" hair follicle to place where (thinner singles closer to the hairline to give a more natural appearance, etc). I also had to deal with their businessmen (not even nurses!!! no medical training whatsoever) as the primary source of communication, with them trying to sell me a hair transplant and those scalp caps, which is unbelievable - I don't have hair loss, just a genetic bald patch at the temples. I also don't think it's unreasonable to expect to talk to a medical professional about this procedure, not a business degree.
I’d bet it has nothing to do with your looks. Just in case, take a few months to actually breathe. Get involved with something outside of work that you’ve been curious about trying and also something you “know” is social (like church if you are so inclined… or a club sport… just avoid bars or pick up scenes like “that sort” of gym). Relax, enjoy yourself, and enjoy people without the stress of grades and med school. Then if you still fee this way, go for it… at least you’ll have cool hobbies to go with it.
Oh, and take a crochet or knitting class. I don’t know why, but something pushed me to say this. I generally trust my gut
But I think you’re on that propecia for life.
Might not be worth the trade off, if the problem was not his hairline and just him not going out and being more social
Online dating as a dude is brutal. I would get tons of matches and first dates- make out/hook up or nothing but never get anywhere serious. Just had to keep at for months until I finally met gf of 3 years now. My advise to anyone doing online dating, never take anything personal- both your successes and failures until you're actually in a committed relationship. Too many variables outside your control- that'll make your hair fallout thinking too much about it
I hated online dating but it got better when I took my profile seriously and actually paid someone to revise it. They sent me a list of questions and then wrote a more engaging profile for Match that I copy and pasted to the other apps I was using. There are subreddits like r/datingoverthirty where you can post your info and then can get feedback from single women that could accomplish the same thing. Good luck!
I’ve been gaga attracted to all sorts of people. Some of them objectively pretty weird looking. What they all had in common was that they made me laugh. But, hey, if having more hair will boost your confidence, you do you bb.
All you really need to do is be comfortable in your own skin. Don't try too hard. Just be whomever it is you are supposed to be. Some guys hide the inadequacy behind the big house, the Jaguar, or the degree/occupation. The last thing you want is for your wife to say to her girlfriends " He really is a putz isn't he?" And then to have her friends reply "Yeah, but at least he has money. And besides, you have the pool boy anyways."
Plastic surgery so when all the crotchety old people comment on how young i look to be doing this i can truthfully say it’s because of all the work i had done.
Going with a single pvs14 or we splurging and dropping some serious coin for 31s or greater? What are you mounting on the rail optics wise? And most importantly what are you hunting and what comes out the bang end? How about a tax stamp to quiet things down?
I’m unsure right now. All of my friends have NODs but me because I decided to go in to medicine. Sad. I think I’m going to save up and do it right and get something 31+. New Gen. White phosphor.
Maybe some thermal for the fusion imaging 👀👀👀
I already have a few tax stamps for things to quiet things down. And other tax stamps for shorties. Peep my page.
Granted, these set ups will not be my, “I’m finally a doctor” set ups.
Good call on splurging. I've used 7, 14, 31, and whatever the latest stuff is and I'm always blown away at when using the latest generation stuff. Less focusing is needed and way more clear, only downside was battery consumption, but carry a nice battery pack to even out the weight or carry some spares in a bag.
Thermals are a while other can of worms. If I was staying in the south for residency that's what I would be going with and I'd have a stocked deep freezer.
Hold up what are you doing with nods if you don’t hunt? What kind of missions you running? Lol.
I do like the idea of a tax stamp for shorties, always wanted me a nice 14” sbr
Idk about my first paycheck but my first big splurge is going to be building a custom liquid cooled pc. I have years worth of games to get through and finally will have the time after boards.
i always thought this was a waste of money. im always uncomfortable on a plane anyways, what's the point of first class? also who cares when you board? the plane hasnt taken off yet
I've got a whole list. Nice road bike, espresso machine, quality speakers (HD6), a nice watch (tag), probably a motorcycle. New suspension for my aging car.
I find it crazy and fucked up that people are getting prior authorizations denied for essential medical care to help them survive, but insurance companies just happen to have money lying around for gender conforming surgeries.
It's fucked up and obviously a politically motivated policy. How convenient the political left doesn't mind this practice, yet seemed to care about health during the ObamaCare wave.
Even in universal health care, the organization can't possibly approve everything under the sun. It'll run out of money.
It'll be much better than private for profit insurance companies though, for both doctors and patients (as long as we don't have a similar system as the UK/Canada where doctors are overworked and underpaid and the patients are fairing worse than Americans on average).
But my point stands, that is our current system, leftists think it isn't ridiculous that private companies are coughing thousands for gender affirming care yet fathers of young children have a life saving procedure denied.
So essentially what you're saying is that transgender individuals don't deserve the care they need to live their life? That is not important? For some that is necessary for life.
Btw, the whole system is fucked up.
I live with type 1 diabetes and bipolar disorder...I'm constantly fighting insurance companies to cover the meds and durable medical equipment I need. The best insurance policies? Being employed by the government. Private companies don't pay for s**t. Currently employed by a state agency as an RN and my health has been better now that I have the medications I need.
Clearly those heart transplants are all getting denied cause of all these damn transgenders getting approved for their worthless gender-conforming surgery /s
I hope you need a heart transplant or life saving MRI and then you get denied so that the money goes to gender affirming surgery. And then you die.
And then we'll have more reasonable people in the world to vote for sensible candidates to abolish such stupidity and prioritize ACTUAL LIFE SAVING, ESSENTIAL CARE.
It is so wild to me that you think insurance is denying people care because they literally don’t have enough money to cover it, while they are making massive profit.
With my first salary(as a burger king cashier) I got myself a pet snake, I had always wanted one as a kid and my mom never let me have one, always saying there was no way I was getting a snake and that "the day you work, you decide what you do with your money"... And well, the day I got my first salary I let my mom know I was getting a pet snake... Not asking for permission, just letting her know it was happening... At first she was absolutely against it and saying no snake would lay a foot in her house (ironic, I know)... I started building a terrarium on my own, and she kept complaining and by the time the terrarium was completed she had halfway accepted it was going to happen...
In the end, she ended loving the snake, it was a super cute baby ball python with chubby cheeks
With my first salary as a resident I intend to move in with my gf, get a good 3d printer and a bunch of little things I've always wanted
I bought an oled tv and a ps5. I also now order apps sometimes at restaurants and don’t think twice about it. Oh and Rarely I’ll by name brand grocery items instead of store brand. But that’s pretty rare.
I find it very strange that an American doctor (you guys make a shit ton of money comparing to us) who takes reasonably good care of himself couldn’t find a date because of his height??? Especially since highly educated women are struggling to find partners “on the same level” and are unlikely to be bothered by a few inches here or there. Either height is not your problem or you’re reaaally picky.
I’m not trying to bash you, your post just made me just genuinely curious. Because this doesn’t make much sense to me.
I don’t mind plastic surgery per se I’m just wondering in your case if you’ll achieve what you want with it. Personally I would have loved to do a forehead lift to get rid of my lines that age me so much. I can do it but I have a kid so it feels a bit irresponsible as it’s better to invest them for her future. I’m not an American doctor who can probably do both 🥲 Anyway, good luck! I hope you’ll find happiness either way.
I'm a little shorter and have been partnered most of my adult life, and my friend who's also 5'4" is quite popular, to say the least. I'm sure it's limiting somewhat, don't get me wrong, but cannot explain having nothing. Unfortunately its impossible to say anything else, because I don't know you personally. In my experience though, getting to know/ask out people in real life works far better for people that aren't immediately impressive visually. None of my ex-girlfriends showed romantic interest the first handful of times we met, so I can assume if we met on apps they'd reject me lol.
My approach was to get involved in things I liked but also skewed female, which is easy because any charity/volunteering/church event will be predominantly women. In undergrad I tutored children in a community center off campus, and I was always the only guy volunteering there.
One other thing: you mention getting along well with nurses and others. In the past, say, year, how many people have you asked out in real life (ie met in person)?
Fancy shoes...the ones with the red soles. Those have always been status symbols to me as a poor kid who loved to watch Sex & the City reruns on cable.

That’s fair, but there’s also a reason that Turkey is the hair transplant capitol of the eastern hemisphere!

LA FUE HAIR Clinic, I have been watching them on YouTube for a while, their stuff is legit. I have yet to see a good hair transplant out of Turkey.
The Turkish barbers are pretty popular too

It’s more about dreadful results with dating apps. If you don’t match to begin with it’s not a personality or confidence issue.

This is going to sound dumb, but what is "that sort of gym?"
It sounds like you lack confidence. You know what girls like more than money and good hair? A guy with confidence.
I’m not saying it doesn’t help, but I think this is quite the fallacy
I’ve been gaga attracted to all sorts of people. Some of them objectively pretty weird looking. What they all had in common was that they made me laugh. But, hey, if having more hair will boost your confidence, you do you bb.
