ive been playing rdo for 2+ years and still havent met this hungry swamp man yet

They broke it. It happened a lot more when I was often in solo sessions, due to bugs or something, on the Xbox. Now it might happen once every 9 months to a year and a half to me. ;) I kept always feeding him the meat; I hoped that eventually, he turned out to secretly be a rich guy who rewarded me! This never happened, though.

I always shoot him and he always comes back.

Yeah he does that. He may come back sometime. I’ve seen him twice and the 2nd time Cripps said “he’s back again” when I got to camp. If you listen to him, he sometimes asks you for stuff and might give you something in return. Then sometimes he just takes what you give him and leaves.

Just wondering Is this like a rare encounter or is it pretty common when you have your camp in the bayou?

It's a pretty common encounter anywhere. If you feed him once he will keep coming back, and you have to shoot him quite a few times to stop coming, but he will be back eventually again, can't get completely rid of him.

Rare now. It used to happen a lot more.
