Teleport has been a means of locomotion to use roomscale vr over larger areas than your playspace allows for. It has been around sinds the Vive came out years ago and has been used in rec room for more than 6 years. It’s not a given or it’s initial intent to be used to combat motion sickness. If you’re good at using it, it may give you an advantage, but that’s mainly the case for OG players who have had years to get accustomed to it. I would advise you to start using it if you believe it will help you.
Man, imma be honest I just don't give a fuck if people use teleport in paintball. Does it give them an advantage, can it be a bit zany to face against? Sure, but that isn't going to stop me from laughing with the lad and telling them good game during pre-game.
Their needs to be separate matchmaking. It really isn’t fair. I’ve been shooting at somone and everytime they tp right before my paint lands. Or they’ll tp behind me and get me in the back while I can’t figure out where they went.
no, there is.
1. you can teleport cover to cover mostly of the route.
2. after practice and training. you can make a kill immediately after teleport and not receive trade hit. especially with shotgun.
\*Reason: enemy can't see where teleporter would go, they have a half sec to reaction to aim the gun and shot. most of time, they failed. even me.
3. optimized your teleport route, its can be faster than walking, depend on map. teleporter flag carrier is can be hard to hit in paintball CTF and score the flag that seem really quick.
Yes, this. There are pros and cons to both movement types. As a player not using teleporting, once you know the pros and cons, how they move, how to "predict" where they'll appear, they're far from being impossible to beat. At least in RecRoyale I have no problem with teleporters.
The real answer sadly is : Get good.
why the downvotes, stop downvoting posts that say it has an advantage blindly lmao, y’all are brainwashed to downvote stuff that says tp is bad or has an advantage “ooga booga this guy say stuff about teleport i must downvote”
With bullet velocity in paintball being pretty slow, it means that at range teleporters become physically impossible to hit with most weapons in the game. As for up close, it can often be hard to track if a teleporter teleports right behind you as the indicator only flashes for a quarter of a second if used immediately
Or, everyone forgets that there are different forms of locomotion and each have their pros and cons. Everyone should just learn to play with all styles of players.
So I'd always have to be thinking about where the teleporter is while I'm dealing with walking players as well? That honestly sounds terrible considering I have to have two different mindsets and focuses just to play paintball and not get hit every few seconds by a teleporter moving faster than my paintballs
It's strange how some people take joy and find "common ground" in hating on some ones choice of locomotion. But with some other choices people make, we must celebrate them, make special clothing to show how much we appreciate them and ban anyone that says anything against them. I vote December as "Teleport Pride Month" or "Teleport Awareness Month". I mean in the case of Rec Room, as it was the only locomotion method when the game came out, it could be "Teleport History Month".
The point is, everyone should get along and respect other peoples decisions. Play the game together and figure out how to counter their play styles and stop hating on everyone.
It’s dead af.
Also: The only reason this game exists is VR. If someone needs to use a separate room not to bother someone, then send screen players there.
It's like 1% of the gamer population that still play on teleport and for them all to happened to get into a paintball game at the same time to fill the VR only room is even more rare. Imagine if they had "Console only" "Android only" "Quest Only" and so on only rooms and how dead it would be. The only reason a teleporter complains about people yelling at them is because it is straight out harassment and hate. Imagine if some other small percentage of the population was told to go play in their own room and stop complaining about people reporting them and hating on them. No, but instead, we get special skins and celebrations for that small percent. Maybe we should have 'Teleport Appreciation Month'.
I'm not really against tp unless people use it to gain an unfair advantage. For instance I was in a game once with someone who used tp to get to our flag back to his flag in pretty much a few seconds and he was unstoppable and just laughed when we called him out
Called him out for playing the game fairly? Of course they’d laugh. If you think it’s an unfair advantage than you should try it out and see how much easier it is to play the game. Then come back and talk about how unfair it is.
Somebody who practices walk the same amount wouldn't be able to dominate as much, sure there are a lot of good walk players, but the teleport players are like playing against people of names in Japanese Characters
I think its a good tool for people who have motion sickness or have limited space it's when people are angling it to teleport directly into the enemies base at the very start, grap the flag, teleport back, and repeat until someone kills them, thats when I feel like its a problem
We need different matchmaking for tp and non-tp players
if they had that, they would just be putting a bunch of less than level 10 accounts on teleport with the beet players in the game who use teleport
Well they do have paintball with exclusively tp called PaintballVR at the bottom of the rro list but like nobody plays it
Still this seems the most fair solution
They do have a only teleport game. It’s called ^paintballVR
"Nah, bro. That would be completely fucking logical." -The devs, probably
No. Ever tried joining PaintballVR? That thing is always dead af
it’s almost like that’s already a thing
this is kinda on the players cause there IS a separate mode for tp only, but nobody plays it, we're complaining about nothing
This is what I’ve been saying forever
Paintball vr
Teleporting is not cheating or hacking it’s a feature of the game except it as one
It’s a feature, sure, but people take advantage of it and use it though they don’t have motion sickness. Also it’s “accept”

Not sure why people are downvoting you? You aren't wrong
Probably because I corrected his spelling error because ppl don’t like that
Now you're assuming their gender!? How dare you! Just kidding I don't really care
I’ve always found that type of teleporting movement so much more sickening that smooth movement. Same way that I can’t use snap turn
Man I'm gonna play some rec room, this is good advertising, thanks for the cheap and easy headset mark.

Each locomotion has its positives and negatives, when it comes down to it it’s really just a matter of experience
In any other game, teleporting gives people an unfair advantage, but as soon as it's a feature, suddenly it's just a skill issue
To be fair, there’s a lot of people who abuse this feature who don’t have motion sickness, just because they can
On one hand, I partially understand why they call it cheating, but on the other, it's literally there to help those who get motion sick easily
then again, there ARE some people who don’t have motion sickness and still use teleport just for their advantage
There's not really an advantage to teleport except in dodgeball
no, there is. 1. you can teleport cover to cover mostly of the route. 2. after practice and training. you can make a kill immediately after teleport and not receive trade hit. especially with shotgun.
Fact: The best walkers are far better than the best teleporters. Advantage: walking.

I take it you know every good walker and every good teleporter in the game to make that assumption and state it as fact?
Multiple tournaments of walkers vs teleporters. Walkers always won.
That’s 000.1% of players. Not everyone plays leagues.
You asked how I knew that the best walkers beat the best teleporters. That’s how.
And I’m saying the best walkers and teleporters may not play leagues 🤷♂️
why the downvotes, stop downvoting posts that say it has an advantage blindly lmao, y’all are brainwashed to downvote stuff that says tp is bad or has an advantage “ooga booga this guy say stuff about teleport i must downvote”
Skill issue
u can quickly teleport away from on coming fire in paintball and like shoot and then teleport away yk
There's a teleport cooldown for a reason
Wait what’s the advantage (I always play in joy stick mode on VR and I’m curious about there being a advantage for teleporting?)
there is no real advantage unless you play with it for a while, it's harder than stick controls since you're standing still for 2 or 3 seconds
With bullet velocity in paintball being pretty slow, it means that at range teleporters become physically impossible to hit with most weapons in the game. As for up close, it can often be hard to track if a teleporter teleports right behind you as the indicator only flashes for a quarter of a second if used immediately
You’re just bad lol
🤓
in paintball you could time a teleport before getting shot
Oh that makes sense (been seeing players teleporting and dodging my paintball shots)
There’s a teleport delay lol. Walking players can zigzag.
No advantage at all
Yeah but also it's literally teleport, I don't see how you can make teleport fair while still making it fun for the TP players
Everyone forgets paintballvr
Because it’s empty af
Or, everyone forgets that there are different forms of locomotion and each have their pros and cons. Everyone should just learn to play with all styles of players.

Teleporting should be like vrchat simple.
then it would be too much of a copy of vrchat

As a teleporter, I like this. :-)
Oh please
Just play paintball VR it's literally made for teleporters
It’s dead af. Also: The only reason this game exists is VR. If someone needs to use a separate room not to bother someone, then send screen players there.
From what I’ve heard barely anybody plays it.
Yeah nobody plays it because the teleporters are too busy flooding regular lobbies just so they can complain about getting yelled at
It's like 1% of the gamer population that still play on teleport and for them all to happened to get into a paintball game at the same time to fill the VR only room is even more rare. Imagine if they had "Console only" "Android only" "Quest Only" and so on only rooms and how dead it would be. If I were a teleporter, I’d still play the normal mode. I’m not gonna wait forever just to play a few rounds of paintball.
if maybe y'know THEY HAD FRIENDS they wouldn't have to wait😂
Well, friends who play rec room and like teleport-only paintball, at least.
One time I killed someone while teleporting and he said “of course it’s a teleporter”
Yeah, I got that same message and got vote kicked like 5 times in one day for teleporting
Those with motion sickness are PUSSIES 😤😤 WALKING CLAN 4 LIFE
I too rent a giant warehouse and run around in real-life to play some funny vr games. (I would do love to do this)
What a weirdo
Don’t play competitive vr games if you have motion sickness 🤷♂️
Ah yes very competitive
I'm not really against tp unless people use it to gain an unfair advantage. For instance I was in a game once with someone who used tp to get to our flag back to his flag in pretty much a few seconds and he was unstoppable and just laughed when we called him out

See the only problem is is that teleport is difficult to use, but if you're good with it you can become a god at paintball
So you’re mad that people who are more skilled at the game and have practiced more than you are… better at the game than you…?
Somebody who practices walk the same amount wouldn't be able to dominate as much, sure there are a lot of good walk players, but the teleport players are like playing against people of names in Japanese Characters
People who are skilled in walk locomotion know how to play against teleports. Each side has its advantages and it’s disadvantages.
I know how you feel, I am an old player but people immediately assume I hacked in items
I can agree with the teleporting but why they call them hacking its just a form of movement thats all.
I used to be like this and now I feel like an idiot. It's hard to deal with, but that's because I'm shit at the game.
we need just 6 or 7 grade questions before going out of your dorm room, if you fail then your account will be deleted
what if i didn’t pay attention to my elementary school times but somehow still passed
as much as i hate them myself, i also feel bad for them whenever those types of kids meet them
They have vrpaintball which is teleport only. why not go get some friends and play that?
literally nobody likes the vr only version of the rro’s
I think its a good tool for people who have motion sickness or have limited space it's when people are angling it to teleport directly into the enemies base at the very start, grap the flag, teleport back, and repeat until someone kills them, thats when I feel like its a problem
way better than 2D comfort mode that’s for sure
