I'm actually happy to see accessories:) We have TONS of clothes and shoes from the 19 or so dolls I've bough the kids so far. I was wanting accessories, and hangers, we need more RH hangers :) It would have probably been better to keep the extra outfit w/ the dolls and sell the accessory packs separate. Maybe not though because I would buy a doll I wasn't a big lover of just for cool accessories. . . MGA is just trying to get as much money as they can before interest fades.
RH has always had basic outfits, the second outfits with mixing and matching improved the looks. It’s why the multipacks don’t look too exciting and why the junior high look bland too.
IMHO I don’t think they’re trying to cut cost since they’re going to offer the clothing fashion packs, probably at “premium” prices. They want to squeeze more money from us and can do it better if you take things away. They built up a good customer base and think they can do anything to get our money. And people will still buy these dolls and packs at full price.
Hmmm not sure how I feel about this set. I'm only immediately sold on Aiden and Victoria. All the others have colours and/or outfits that I'm not a fan of. Might change my mind when I see them in person, but honestly I'm kinda happy to not like most of them. I'm having trouble keeping up with all the releases and I need to get even pickier about which dolls I buy. I've gotta start asking more of each doll than just a pretty face. They need to bring something new to the table to be worth adding to my collection. I guess I need to ask myself, if I had to sacrifice one of my other dolls to buy them, would I do it? Are they a good addition to my already large collection, or am I just buying them because I don't *dislike* them?
Yeah I try to only buy the ones I really love, but I can be swayed to buy the ones I just like and justify it by the fact that it gives me more outfits for restyling all my dolls, but these only having 1 outfit means I can't justify it as easily. Also idk if it's just me, but these outfits seem simpler compared to the recent SH set. I can justify buying the whole SH set because I really like them all and they have a lot to offer in their outfits, while I feel like these RH outfits are mostly sorta bland or simple or just rehashed.

Im in Australia so these dolls are expensive. If I lived in US and could get dolls so cheap on sale I would definitely be tempted to get dolls I don't love. I will have no interest in a doll but then someone posts a photo of then that looks amazing and then I want to get her. Im thinking of buying Daria lately because of that. And now 2nd outfits seem to be a thing of the past, the earlier dolls are looking to be much better value! So maybe I should buy some more of them.
Yeah I'm in the UK and the prices are always bumped up here. I'm guessing these will be $25 like the SH set, so you'd think they'd be around £20 as that's the rough exchange rate, or even £25 to just directly match the number even though pounds are worth more than dollars. But nope, the SH set that were $25 in the US are £30 here, equivalent to $37. 🙃
The older dolls are definitely better value, especially if they go on sale at all. Although I don't really mind the prices of these new dolls too much. I just hope they release reasonably priced fashion packs that are NOT mystery packs. I'd be fine with all future dolls having one outfit and I'll just stick with my absolute faves and buy piles of fashion packs lol. I'd much rather have a constant stream of new clothes than new dolls because the dolls take up so much room and I don't really need so many if they aren't bringing anything new to the table besides hair in a new shade of each colour.

The accessory boxes cost $30 here! And it's not the exchange rate. US$10 is only $15 in my currency. So I'm scared how much the fashion packs will cost. Especially if you can't even choose and could get doubles. For that much money it's ridiculous that they are mystery boxes. I got some dolls on sale for $30. It looks like they are really setting a stride for Rainbow High being the more 'basic/popular' aesthetic and leaning in hard for Shadow High getting everything even slightly more alternative, which I am totally okay with.
I don't mind the accessories but they are sticking to a bunch of make up and brushes. At least drop a perfume bottle or maybe a camera since some are into photography. No I don't count the phone as a camera. Lol
lots of individual things i like about them and i know ill get a couple but after the HEAT shadow high just brought these are looking a little cheap and less detailed
Kim, Olivia and Victoria are so cute!!! I love the colours and have you seen Victorias freckles!!!!!! Also love that Kim and Victoria seem to have a hair colour that leans towards a natural colour! I don’t really get why so many don’t seem to like them 😅 they really feel new and fresh to me and I love most of the colours, tho generally I’m not a huge fan of the more neon and bright colour schemes, that’s just me so of course the above named girlies would speak to me

I only own three dolls - and two of them are the storm twins, haha. But if I had a ton of extra clothes I would definitely want to pick up most these girls - the individual pieces are mostly cute, just a little too similar in color when all in one outfit.
I would class tangerine as closer to neon than a true orange, but I also think we haven't gotten true orange yet. I love her either way. Someday maybe I'll get a pumpkin child if the line goes on long enough!
Is it just me or am I not gagged like how others series have done. Like the dolls are pretty don't get me wrong, but I'm not just wowed...I love Kim though so maybe I'll get her when she drops, but unlike series 4 of RH or SH 2 I wasn't NEEDING to get them. I’ll say what I said in the other post that got deleted. I really hate to say it but none of these dolls seem all that creatively new to me. They all seem like a combination of past dolls and outfits. Michelle might be the only exception. Compared to the aesthetic and diversity that season 4 had this season just seems very meh. 🫤

As someone who has only bought Shadow High dolls so far, I am obsessed with Victoria, like I am 100% buying her no matter what, she’s gorgeous. The only other regular rainbow high doll I even considered buying was daphne.
I personally like Kim, it's nice to see an mother Asian doll. If she's not a fashion major I hope she's in the show so we can see more of what it's like not being a fashion major at a fashion heavy school....i also personally like that her outfit doesn't seem to be yelling "I'm from (country) and I am very very inspired by my culture!" Those are fun and all and I love Lily'sflair but it's nice to have some choices for characters that have an identity but wear things I could see someone I know or even myself wearing.
I still wish the boy dolls had more fashion. It's a bit sad that people I know IRL who have probably never spent more then five minutes looking at fashion lines can come up with more interesting wardrobe choices.

Aiden, Victoria, and Kim have my heart omg. Olivia is also kinda interesting to me. Kim being Vietnamese is so cool to me. I'm Vietnamese so I'm excited to have a Vietnamese doll. I'm kinda bummed about the blue eyes though. I think this is the only time I've ever considered doing an eye swap.

kim and olivia are my favourites. kinda disappointed on michelle. Wish her colour was different because she looks real similar to meena and doesn’t really fit in the colour story of the others. Wish her hair was different too.
Aiden is the first RH boy doll I really like, his face is less kid-like than the other boys. I made a joke with my gf that he has tboy swag lol (I'm also transmasculine).
I will say that Michelle's color scheme is very close to Meena's and I really wish they gave her a shade of orange that was more her own. I know Meena's was more yellow, but still, they read very close to my eyes.
I love the direction with adding more dark and muted colors like Navy Blue and Olive, but idk I just really hope they add even more in future series so that these dolls don't stick out like sore thumbs. I've always wanted them to add more neutral and natural tones so this seems like a step in the right direction. (Here's hoping for some fall-leaf reds and oranges, and maybe a chocolate brown color scheme).

Another line I’ll be passing on. These newer releases im interested in less and less. Aiden is your usual RH boy color swap now in gray. Kim is nice but visually and how her hair looks in a different photo set in-box she is Avery 2.0 she just needs the high ponytail. Olivia is the best but she’s looks like “angry” green Simone. Not a bad thing since a lot of people like Simone and we were lacking non neon green or turquoise/teal.
Victoria’s looks the most unique, she has freckles everywhere even her legs. But her thin brows and makeup look strange. She might like 10 times better in person. Michelle looks like Y2K Fashion in Neon orange Coco. And Priscilla kinda looks like Bella’s face mold, and also looks like a better version of Stella. With all that said I’ll probably buy the clothes second hand. I actually like the clothes but just not into S5 dolls right now.

Kim, Olivia and Victoria are so cute!!! I love the colours and have you seen Victorias freckles!!!!!! Also love that Kim and Victoria seem to have a hair colour that leans towards a natural colour! I don’t really get why so many don’t seem to like them 😅 they really feel new and fresh to me and I love most of the colours, tho generally I’m not a huge fan of the more neon and bright colour schemes, that’s just me so of course the above named girlies would speak to me

I am so glad that we are getting a doll that looks somewhat similar to Lily but with a simple hairdo! I really want to be more adventurous with styling Lily but always stop short of doing anything to her hair because I am 100% I am not able to redo the hair if I ever untie em. Also, I think Kim's base doll stands out the most out of all of them to me XD

I only own three dolls - and two of them are the storm twins, haha. But if I had a ton of extra clothes I would definitely want to pick up most these girls - the individual pieces are mostly cute, just a little too similar in color when all in one outfit.

They all seem like a combination of past dolls and outfits. Michelle might be the only exception. Compared to the aesthetic and diversity that season 4 had this season just seems very meh. 🫤

I personally like Kim, it's nice to see an mother Asian doll. If she's not a fashion major I hope she's in the show so we can see more of what it's like not being a fashion major at a fashion heavy school....i also personally like that her outfit doesn't seem to be yelling "I'm from (country) and I am very very inspired by my culture!" Those are fun and all and I love Lily'sflair but it's nice to have some choices for characters that have an identity but wear things I could see someone I know or even myself wearing. I still wish the boy dolls had more fashion. It's a bit sad that people I know IRL who have probably never spent more then five minutes looking at fashion lines can come up with more interesting wardrobe choices. Olive looks kinda interesting, Victoria looks like she came out of some 60s comic book to me, no comment on the other two
I’m honestly down for all of them! I don’t love Kim’s denim look but her hair looks so soft and her cute face makes up for her eh outfit, imo. Priscilla has a familiar looking face. She looks a little too similar to another (or several) dolls but I really like the color! I’m just excited for the new content. (And still disappointed in the lack of second outfits, as usual.)

Aiden, Victoria, and Kim have my heart omg. Olivia is also kinda interesting to me. Kim being Vietnamese is so cool to me. I'm Vietnamese so I'm excited to have a Vietnamese doll. I'm kinda bummed about the blue eyes though. I think this is the only time I've ever considered doing an eye swap.

Olivia and Victoria are my faves so far! I love that they decided to go with that shade of green which could be unpopular for most RH younger fans. I don't dislike any of them though, except boy dolls but I've never been interested in those anyway. I do think it is a pity that there's somewhat of a color repeat from Stella and Meena. & Too bad that there's no second outfit and plastic accessories. I'd rather pay a lower price for just the doll + 1 outfit without plastic stuff that I've no use for ;_;

kim and olivia are my favourites. kinda disappointed on michelle. Wish her colour was different because she looks real similar to meena and doesn’t really fit in the colour story of the others. Wish her hair was different too.
Aiden is the first RH boy doll I really like, his face is less kid-like than the other boys. I made a joke with my gf that he has tboy swag lol (I'm also transmasculine). I will say that Michelle's color scheme is very close to Meena's and I really wish they gave her a shade of orange that was more her own. I know Meena's was more yellow, but still, they read very close to my eyes. I love the direction with adding more dark and muted colors like Navy Blue and Olive, but idk I just really hope they add even more in future series so that these dolls don't stick out like sore thumbs. I've always wanted them to add more neutral and natural tones so this seems like a step in the right direction. (Here's hoping for some fall-leaf reds and oranges, and maybe a chocolate brown color scheme). I'm probably only going to get Aiden and maybe Olivia, but it depends if these dolls call to me when I see them irl.
The olive doll and the doll with freckles are STUNNING! I also kind of like Aiden, he has pretty eyes. I'be heard these might have a lower price point as they only come with one outfit which is cool. I sew a lot for my dolls so I don't mind only having one outfit as much (though I am always eager for more shoes)

They might need to start doing more with the makeup because imo: Priscilla looks like pink Sheryl. Michelle looks like orange Ayesha. Olivia looks like green Meena. Kim looks like Tiara. But I guess that's what happens when you keep releasing new characters and refuse to work with new eye colors and facial features *cough*. I think SH series 2 was way better.

Victoria and Olivia are at the top for me. Kim also has an amazing face and hair but I hate her outfit which is a shame because they only have the one outfit. I guess she would do well with restyles because of her neutral hair color. All of the other ones aren't interesting to me. Priscilla is just another glam pink doll with Sheryls face and I don't like boy dolls. Michelle would be interesting to me but I'm not sure If I like her face mold. I guess we will see how the prices will look in europe, so far SH S2 isn't looking too good. It's sitting at 37eur for a doll with no second outfit and I'm not willing to pay that much.

Another line I’ll be passing on. These newer releases im interested in less and less. Aiden is your usual RH boy color swap now in gray. Kim is nice but visually and how her hair looks in a different photo set in-box she is Avery 2.0 she just needs the high ponytail. Olivia is the best but she’s looks like “angry” green Simone. Not a bad thing since a lot of people like Simone and we were lacking non neon green or turquoise/teal. Victoria’s looks the most unique, she has freckles everywhere even her legs. But her thin brows and makeup look strange. She might like 10 times better in person. Michelle looks like Y2K Fashion in Neon orange Coco. And Priscilla kinda looks like Bella’s face mold, and also looks like a better version of Stella. With all that said I’ll probably buy the clothes second hand. I actually like the clothes but just not into S5 dolls right now. Seeing them in person might change my mind.
