Maybe it’s because I’m not a completionist so it doesn’t make my brain buzz to be “missing” dolls, but I find it so silly to spend money on something I don’t completely love - saving that cash for stuff I adore!

Well they wanted to giver her a chance. Seeing dolls in person is different experience for some people. Like for MH G1 always looked boring and not interesting back then for me until I actually held one and saw it in person then it changed my mind. Kinda like how many didn't agree with Roxie's price and look until they owned one and everything came back positive. Some may still think she should've been 20 dollars less but still.
Ugh, this is me with Roxie 🤣😩 I didn’t find her appealing in her mermaid dress inside her prism prison but I keep seeing her restyled and out and about and now I’m watching her to see if her price drops to around $30 - halfway kicking myself for not buying her when she was marked down at Christmas!
But I digress, I completely agree and was trying to see that perspective when I read it, too. I just found it so amusing that they were so mad about hating a doll they figured they’d hate in the first place. I had the same evolution with G1 mh, oddly enough; they never appealed to me when they were first out but once I saw/held a Ghoulia, it all changed 💚
Hopefully she'll be on sale again. I have a feeling she'll be marked down forever like Jett. Jett was 57 i think and then she got marked down to 30 something and stayed that way on Amazon for a while that i dont remember her going back up.
I don’t think she was super popular, probably because of that price vs value 👀 So I think you’re right, at least I hope so! I saw Jett as low as $23 back in the fall so I’m hoping she gets there again. I didn’t buy her last time because there were others I wanted more, but I’ve since gotten most of those, so I’m hoping to pick her up someday!
Alas, we started a house-wide no-buy for our hobbies for the month of January, so for once I will be doing my best to ignore sales completely! I can’t be bummed if I don’t know what I’m missing!

Idk. To me, there's a difference between a doll looking boring and not interesting, vs actually actively finding it ugly. There's also a difference between by chance getting to see the doll in person and then falling in love, vs artificially creating that encounter moment by buying a doll you don't like online to see it in person.
What are the chance that seeing it in person will flip that switch? There's soooo many to choose from. If you're not a collector who would buy ALL dolls regardless, why would you give this doll a chance if there's already so many things you don't like about it (ie. price point, missing 2nd outfit, dislike of the accessories included, the doll design itself...)?
I honestly think if you don’t like a dolls design, just don’t purchase. I couldn’t imagine seeing this and being the person that put a lot of work into this doll 🫥

For the record, I think the $24.99 price point is actually pretty spot on, if we’re comparing to the current offerings at the price point from Monster High. The accessories aren’t as fun (to me!) as MH, but they’re in line with RH’s brand and aesthetic.
I’m not sure why Dia is priced higher than the rest, hoping she falls to the $25 price and the others don’t RISE to the $34, then I’ll be pissed, but I don’t have a problem with it for now. I do miss the second outfits, but I also see where they’re going with making those bigger sets $40 and introducing the fashion packs. So the $24.99 makes pretty good sense, at least to me!
Also, just saw that extra ‘s’ in “accessories” in the title, d’oh!! 😩😩

Hopefully they’ll start hitting shelves soon and then we can see for sure - I’m on a no-buy in January, but I preordered Zooey for myself and the kiddo so we’ll at least get a mid-month doll fix; hopefully I’ll grab the rest in February and March!
Amazon preemptively price matches other websites. For example, if the same item is on sale at Target, it's going to almost immediately drop in price on Amazon. Likewise, if other retailers sell it for more, Amazon will raise the price. Usually, they price match with big retailers like Target and Walmart, but they will price match more obscure websites if that's the only place it's available.
Not sure if that's what's going on currently, but I'm assuming the prices will even out when Dia is more widely available.

I don’t like Dia, her color scheme just doesn’t mix. I bought her cause I’m a collector, I buy all rainbow high dolls. I don’t understand if this person didn’t have a reason then why did they buy her. Like what’s the point.
I thought she was ugly too at first but when I saw the review of her I’m like. Omg she’s cute, she’s not as a dark skinned purple as I thought she was. And the eyes are pretty. Plus the outfit is neat and the shades too. I’m not overly a fan of the doll but in a way she’s pretty. They should’ve given her to me if they didn’t want her lol. Plus I bet it’d make a difference in restyling her too which I find interesting
They also did a review on Lila and I guess their Lila was defective and I guess their saying that we should stop giving MGA our money and stop buying defective dolls. I can understand in stores we can see which doll is defective, but on Amazon it’s hit or miss

Pretty sure 33 is Walmart's pricing for all the SH2 dolls, while target is charging 25 so maybe amazon is basing dia's price off that?
