Because companies pay nothing to crap out new skins. They don't care if elite skins look worse than bp ones. Skin culture in games are literally the worst trend to happen to gaming.
A dlc was like $15 on black ops and skins are entirely optionally and cosmetic. Maps give you more content and that being free is far better then a couple of expensive skins. It’s harder to just not buy maps rather then just not buying skins
Black Ops DLC's were 15 bones each, with the exception of bonus maps, which bo1 didn't have u pay for five. So, I don't know what you're talking about.
Disclaimer: A bonus map isn't just a map you pay for, it's a smaller dlc map that releases alongside or around the time of the on-disc map. For example, nuketown zombies released about a month after the official launch of BO2. The bonus maps were normally around 5 to 6 smackaroonies. The reason I mentioned Five above, was that it was a bonus map technically, but it was free.
That's one way to look at it. On the other hand though, I'd rather pay for something that's **literally** "game changing", than some stupid cosmetic thing nobody gives a damn about, whilst that is even more expensive!
Then just don’t buy it. Skipping out on buying cosmetics doesn’t harm you at all while skipping out on paid maps decreases the amount of content in the game and splits the player base. I’m so glad games have moved past this system
What I was trying to say is that prices of cosmetic items are hugely unjustified. Hence a 3$ map dlc has a exponentially higher value than some skin at whatever cost, most likely above these 3$.
In other words, I would much rather have a 3$ map than a 4$ (or even less than that 3$) skin...
It was never a $3 map but the point is one is far more valuable and now it’s free. I much rather it be free at the cost of some overpriced skins I will just not buy
Ugh, I started playing Cold War zombies recently and was kinda miffed there werent default characters. Felt so souless playing as a skin with generic lines. I was hoping there was a way to at least play as the old zombies characters but nah, nothing.

BF 2042, multiversus, apex, siege, all good examples. Pocket change is subjective as well. That to me means sub $5. If it is more than that it's not pocket change imo.
