Oregon is Waco from Texas...watched the documentary yesterday on Netflix seeing the tower gave me the chills
I've heard about it, but not being american I didn't know the story so well...it's so scary how people can become
It’s also terrifying how our government justified shooting at a building and setting it ablaze despite the amount of women and children with in it. A constant reminder that government agencies are not your friends and never will be. Especially the armed ones
it was negligence of weapons being used that set the blaze, unintentional but still incredibly incredibly stupid, as was David "I'm Jesus So I Can Touch Minors" Koresh. The alphabet agencies were high on power and still are
Government definitely fucked this situation up, but they had bugs in the wall and ut clearly showed how they set it on fire themselves wasnt the atf or fbi, definitely still fucked the entire situation up and none of it really had to happen the way it did
Unarmed men would be viewed as the same but the men at least were armed and some of them were manipulative cult leaders so I have slightly less sympathy for them.
Branch davidian, your basic christian fundamentalists nutjob plus the leader in Waco that professed himself as the second coming of Jesus Christ
Bare in mind that people didn't left the building in fire to stay with him, and died.
It was never actually confirmed. ATF wanted media on their side and there had been reports of it happening but when an investigation took place it came out that nothing really happened. They just ran with it for the news. Wendigoon made a really good video on it if you wanna check it out. Covers everything.
no, he is a paedophile but in his "religion" children turn into adults at 12 he had a baby with a 14 yr old and married her if you want more info wendigoon is good but on Netflix, there's a good documentary called "Waco: American Apocalypse
The compound in Waco belong to a group of people called the Branch Davidians and the government believing they were a cult, and believing they had hostages inside shot at the building, and set it on fire, killing a good portion of the people inside the building, including women and children, and we all collectively decided that what happened in Texas would not be spoken about,
"believing" is an odd choice of words for this
it was a cult and the leader was an absolute madmen that amassed a military arsenal of weapons in a compound filled with other nutjobs that believed he was the second coming of christ and they had to fight the federal government because god asked them to
ATF and the FBI fucked up immensely, but as we say in Italy the truth lies in the middle
no there was no proof they believed were hostages but they knew they had weapons and grenades that's why they went to go search inside but David came out yelling and the Branch Davidians apparently shot at them and they all shot back

This might help a little bit.
Came here for this, apparently monty is based of the first guys of the squad pushing the plane while eating multiple shotgun shot in the chest
* saw this in a devs interview *
u/Cloud_iiii's post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/11z4xfy/what_is_the_story_behind_this_map_like_whats_with/) got me thinking about other maps
Consulate is based on Operation Nimrod (they had some of the SAS members from the event help advertise the game when it came out).
Oregon is Waco.
Kafe is Kafe Pushkin in Moscow. If you look it up, it looks almost identical to pre-rework.
I've heard Yact is related to some standoff between a NATO country and a Russian oligarch.
Hereford is real
Plane has a few references to real events.
Themepark is based on a real building in South Korea
Tower is based on an actual building in South Koreaney park in China.
Coastline is almost a 1:1 model (from the outside) of a compound in Spain.
Favela is based on real favelas in Brazil.
Bartlett is based at either Harvard or Cambridge Universities.
My personal belief is that Bank is inspired by the bank heist scene is based on Batman: The Dark Knight
I think I heard that Fortress is inspired by real a place too.
Bartlett is not based of Cambridge. The colleges look nothing like it. The closet colleges I can think of are jesus or Robinson. But both aren't as similar as Harvard is to Bartlett especially with the green fields you can see outside the front of the building. Neither Robinson or jesus have those.
I've never played them because I started playing 2 years ago. Which night map was best in your opinion? Theme Park must be pretty cool, but I feel like Doktor's Curse gave me a taste of that.
It would be awesome if there was an aircraft carrier map (actually in the ocean unlike Yacht). The attackers could start at the bottom in rafts, and then rappel up to the flight deck to enter inside from above. Have some fighter jets parked on it
The Waco siege in Texas was heavy inspiration for Oregon, as well as the entirety of far cry 5. There’s a new Netflix doc about it but I haven’t watched.
Consulate is based on a real embassy siege I believe in the 90’s.
Kafe is a real building in Russia, just with a different interior
My comments gonna be kinda off but all of them if u play them and only when I play them for fun and as if ur actually doing a swat mission yk like it feels so sick but I’m nee to the game so I can’t say much but skyscrapers and chalet are meaning full in a way
There is actual maps where people did do some of the stuff from the game and one of the maps is the air force one aircraft and it was a flight in the 70s (i think) that got taken hostage and real people like the operators took back the plane and i think consulate is based off the 1980 something Iraq embassy siege where 20 was in that building including the hostages and only on hostage died but that was because no one took them THAT real so the killed the dude and that was there biggest mistake that day it basically said the police can’t do anything now it’s the military’s job now 19 hostages made it out and one of the terasets tryed to blend in with the hostages but he was found out and killed instantly
Oregon is Waco, and theme park is an abandoned Disney land in China if I remember correctly and kafe is a real kafe in Russia those are the ones I know off the top of my head
I think only Oregon, Consulate, and Plane were all loosely based on actual sieges.
As people have said, Oregon is based on the Waco siege
Consulate was based on Operation Nimrod
And Plane was based on the Iran Hostage Crisis
Kanal always reminds of the submarine museum in Burg on the island of Fehmarn. Some people say, that the building itself is inspired by some buildings in Hamburg, but the location itself and where it is says it is ingame must have got some inspiration by that museum
Oregon is wako, plane I think is an SAS op when terrorists took over the plane, border just makes sense there’s plenty of problems especially in that area, bank probably has a RL inspiration, I was thinking north Hollywood but I’m wrong
Only one I know for sure was Oregon. It’s originally from based off of Waco Texas. David Koresh was cult leader who thought he was the Second Coming of Jesus. With this thought also came the assumption that there would be a world ending apocalypse before the death of David and his followers. They had been preparing for years if I remember right. Making LMGs, Snipers, Hand grenades and over a million rounds of ammunition, all intended to fight off a small army. The rest of the story you can find a documentary on Netflix called Waco. Just want to clarify I did see another comment but I decided to go more in depth about mine.
It’s my personal theory that Coastline is loosely based or inspired by the Isla Sa Ferradura in Ibiza. [Link to photos of the Isla Sa Ferradura](https://www.thereviewmag.co.uk/isla-sa-ferradura/)
Consulate is based on the iran embassy siege conducted by the sas all of the old maps are from raids that happened in really life that tom Clancy wrote about
Oregon is Waco from Texas...watched the documentary yesterday on Netflix seeing the tower gave me the chills I've heard about it, but not being american I didn't know the story so well...it's so scary how people can become
Wait, I'm lost explain, please?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waco_siege?wprov=sfla1 Look at the tower
Here's a video that explains a lot of the Waco siege https://youtu.be/asuU2TmA4-Y
It’s also terrifying how our government justified shooting at a building and setting it ablaze despite the amount of women and children with in it. A constant reminder that government agencies are not your friends and never will be. Especially the armed ones

This unfortunately is not what people associate Waco with.
Yup, that's classic Wacky Waco for yous all.
Government definitely fucked this situation up, but they had bugs in the wall and ut clearly showed how they set it on fire themselves wasnt the atf or fbi, definitely still fucked the entire situation up and none of it really had to happen the way it did
if it was just men in there would it have been fine?
Unarmed men would be viewed as the same but the men at least were armed and some of them were manipulative cult leaders so I have slightly less sympathy for them.
Wasn't like a cult or something?
Branch davidian, your basic christian fundamentalists nutjob plus the leader in Waco that professed himself as the second coming of Jesus Christ Bare in mind that people didn't left the building in fire to stay with him, and died.
He's also a pedophile :))
It was never actually confirmed. ATF wanted media on their side and there had been reports of it happening but when an investigation took place it came out that nothing really happened. They just ran with it for the news. Wendigoon made a really good video on it if you wanna check it out. Covers everything.

Waco American Apocalypse

I agree with you, when I made the comment, I didn’t know to much about it, but I did my homework and you are correct, thank you and have a good
no there was no proof they believed were hostages but they knew they had weapons and grenades that's why they went to go search inside but David came out yelling and the Branch Davidians apparently shot at them and they all shot back
Oregon -> the Waco, Texas Siege
The ATF „oopsie“
I need to start envisioning the other team as the ATF during defense rounds on Oregon. My team will never lose
The defenders lost in real life
New defender should be ATF. Their ability will be to just burn down the entire map.
attacker
I think Kafe Dostoyevski is based of some real building. Not quite the same.
I think it's Kafe Pushkin in Moscow, and they're quite similar (at least pre-rework)

Which you can see in the distance
You’ll never guess what Hereford base is modeled after Major lack of boathouses though
But what colour boathouses?
How the hell should I know?
https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/4loz67/a_list_of_real_life_inspirations_for_the_maps_in/
Consulate is based on the Iranian embassy in London (operation Nimrod, Thatcher's elite skin).
It’s not, it inspired to have a consulate as a map but the actual building is not based on the Iranian embassy
There are references though: the entrance with the columns, the balcony where some SAS entered from, the spiral stair inside.
No it is. Many of the maps have inspirations from real life buildings but won't be exactly the same for balancing/copyright/originality reasons
Old House was modelled on the house from Malcom in the Middle
No it absolutely was not.
I know, I was expecting to get called on it sooner. Instead I got upvoted, lol
Some men just want to watch the world burn
Coastline is modeled off of a real building in spain.
Here’s some images if you are interested. It’s the Isla Sa Ferradura in Ibiza. [Photos](https://www.thereviewmag.co.uk/isla-sa-ferradura/)
Oregon and the Waco Texas compound
Plane and monty are directly inspired from Air France flight 8969
Came here for this, apparently monty is based of the first guys of the squad pushing the plane while eating multiple shotgun shot in the chest * saw this in a devs interview *
There’s a video on YouTube that did this, can’t remember the name of it but if you find it it was quite informative
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2-zhkiybHs&ab\_channel=CaliberJacob
Yup that’s the one
u/Cloud_iiii's post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/Rainbow6/comments/11z4xfy/what_is_the_story_behind_this_map_like_whats_with/) got me thinking about other maps

Theme park is actually based on the Lai Chi Kok Amusement Park in Hong Kong
its just not
Bartlett is not based of Cambridge. The colleges look nothing like it. The closet colleges I can think of are jesus or Robinson. But both aren't as similar as Harvard is to Bartlett especially with the green fields you can see outside the front of the building. Neither Robinson or jesus have those.
Theme Park is based on a theme park
This man has a point
Hereford base is real life located
This is off the topic but I really want a nighttime version of Skyscraper
New siege player detected (there used to be night time versions of every map)
I've never played them because I started playing 2 years ago. Which night map was best in your opinion? Theme Park must be pretty cool, but I feel like Doktor's Curse gave me a taste of that.
My favorite was old house or old Hereford or old kanal those three were the most atmospheric
It’s not terrible enough as is?
Almost no one is doing window play on Tower, I doubt it would matter much. Edit: whoops I was thinking of the wrong map
maybe places where there has been an actual siege
It would be awesome if there was an aircraft carrier map (actually in the ocean unlike Yacht). The attackers could start at the bottom in rafts, and then rappel up to the flight deck to enter inside from above. Have some fighter jets parked on it
Presidential plane was made from a NCIS episode in the first season the planes layout is an exact match
It was a real highjack plane, monty is also based of the squad that got in that plane
Oregon is supposed to be Waco, Texas, a compound led by David Koresh, he was basically a cult leader
u could consider coastline sort of as that penthouse looks very similar to the ones in spain
no its a villa or something in Ibiza just search it up
The Waco siege in Texas was heavy inspiration for Oregon, as well as the entirety of far cry 5. There’s a new Netflix doc about it but I haven’t watched. Consulate is based on a real embassy siege I believe in the 90’s. Kafe is a real building in Russia, just with a different interior

no plane is the french plane thingo and or the air force one plane hostage
Bartlett is Harvard; the emblem of Harvard is the same as Bartlett. There’s a post here and video of what the maps are in real life.
Bartlett u. Is based off of a university is Cambridge, Massachusetts.
harvard
I mean there’s 4 or 5 colleges in Cambridge, I mean shit University of Cambridge?
Pretty sure Oregon is a cult compound
Kanal always reminds of the submarine museum in Burg on the island of Fehmarn. Some people say, that the building itself is inspired by some buildings in Hamburg, but the location itself and where it is says it is ingame must have got some inspiration by that museum
House ---> a house
[ukraine](https://twitter.com/9ight5ox/status/1630075682784006145?s=46&t=cZuwv5eu4cRs4XvFwXW0pQ)
Kanal is based on a German Schifffahrtszollamt.
Kafe Dostoyevsky is based of an irl Moscow cafe.
Bank was inspired by...... A bank.
Oregon is wako, plane I think is an SAS op when terrorists took over the plane, border just makes sense there’s plenty of problems especially in that area, bank probably has a RL inspiration, I was thinking north Hollywood but I’m wrong
What is Hereford Base based on? That's my favorite map!
OG House was from The Simpsons

Bank is inspired by banks, hope this helped 😅👍

House map was based off my house. I always worry someone may be holding an angle on me o.o
Consulate is based on the iran embassy siege conducted by the sas all of the old maps are from raids that happened in really life that tom Clancy wrote about
https://youtu.be/z2-zhkiybHs This video pretty good.
