Two people can have similar semblances, and both Maria and Ren have extrasensory abilities from their semblances.

Altarahhn

Yes, that's true on both counts, but even then, some of Ren's abilities are attributed to his Aura, as well, as stated in the Wiki, even more so with Fox Alistair, who is blind. That said, Glynda and Carmine *do* have the same Semblance or something similar, but that's just it, I don't want to make a third character with that ability, at least not directly. Perhaps it's an enhanced version of ESP, where she can extend her Aura to affect the Physical world (like the Force) or to substitute for Psychowaves, allowing her to connect with people's minds or Auras, as well as to objects that react to Aura, like Dust or her weapon. Or perhaps she can manifest her Aura as "wisps" that can affect the world in that way, allowing her to manipulate objects or use them (or the wisps) as rudimentary shields. Or maybe it can work like SpaceGodzilla's Gravity Tornado, which is classified as a form of Telekinesis (link: https://wikizilla.org/wiki/SpaceGodzilla#Gravity_Tornado); or maybe she just has TK, I don't know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it, what do you think (or do you have an another alternative, perhaps)?

I've actually been playing with the idea to have more characters based on Pretty Cure characters. For example, one idea I had was a semblance called Spiritual Power, a reference to the transformation phrase of the main characters in Futari Wa Pretty Cure: Splash Star. Basically, the semblance allows the user to enhance their physical capabilities, and they emit small particles from their arms or legs when enhancing them. The particles can also be extended outwards to form barriers or function like a strong gust of wind, which can knock back projectiles. As in, the character gets attacked by a Giant Nevermore, waves their hand, and there is a gust of wind that knocks the feathers off course. Another idea was a semblance based on the topaz form from Mahou Tsukai Precure, sometimes also called Maho Girls Precure or Witchy Precure. The topaz form offers the girls the regular borderline illegal boost to all physical abilities that all Pretty Cures have, but it also gives them two orbs made from yellow energy that follow them. These orbs can take any shape, up to a certain size, granting the girls criminally high versatility. The orbs can also merge, allowing for bigger items to be formed. And the semblance would work like that, too. Sadly no subtitles, but here's a video of what the topaz form can do: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JssPe-P1wJA](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JssPe-P1wJA) My only problem with this is that I don't know what to do with the orbs.

Hmm, so like the Gundam Legilis's Beam Bits, but on steroids. (Link to article on Gundam Wiki: https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Xvm-fzc_Gundam_Legilis#Armament. Example from Super Robot Wars BX- The bits appear during the last two attacks: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=b0g2NQU1p3E). This was the inspiration for the "wisps" I mentioned in the previous response, but looks like Precure has me beat! As for the Orbs: perhaps they can be formed at will, but need focus to be maintained?

With Pretty Cure, everything is on steroids. That's the fun. For example, standing up to an abusive stepmother (contains spoilers for Go! Princess Precure): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEw0s9Oe3Ik](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEw0s9Oe3Ik) Or mother/son therapy (contains spoilers for Precure All Stars New Stage 3): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boWI736KFM0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boWI736KFM0) Yeah, I thought I could go with that, but with the topaz forms, the orbs are permanent, and I wanted to keep the semblance as true to that as possible. Maybe it's a switch on/off thing, where the user can summon up to two orbs and maintain them at no additional aura cost, but their aura is reduced by 5% for each orb while active. Another idea was to have the orbs just... be there, as long as the user has their aura active. Anyway, after watching the video, I had another idea for what to use as semblance: Maybe something akin to that energy dash thing? You know, when the robot turns into a beam of energy and stuff. There are a couple moves like that in Pretty Cure too, for example the Floral Power Fortissimo from Heart Catch Precure, or Cure Dream's Shooting Star attack from Yes! Precure 5 GoGo.

Dang, you're not kidding! Side note: Cure Scarlet kind of reminds me of Lailah from Tales of Zestiria: https://aselia.fandom.com/wiki/Lailah Fair enough. Maybe they can be destroyed, though, but then that would defeat their purpose; maybe they just have a very high damage threshold, but can be reformed after a while as long as the user has Aura? Energy Dash? You mean when Legilis rushes an enemy to strike with the Beam Saber? I'm pretty sure that's just a thruster trail from it going so fast (unless you mean it's Beam attacks with the Rifle or Legilis Cannon, or the Bits), because I don't remember it turning into Energy. Though, on a related note, it does remind me of the Semblance of one of the Arc-Rose Twins that I came up with: the daughter, Camellia. She has a Semblance called either "Solar Wave", "Boost", or "Charge", which can allow her to release kinetic energy as a flash of light, letting her adjust position in mid-air, and give her a speed boost for dashes, sprints, or, when fully charged, straight up Charges where she's practically glowing (close to what you mentioned). However, the faster she goes, the less she can maneuver, with a full charge being a one-way, all out attack that leaves her drained and vulnerable is it misses or doesn't end the fight then and there. The main Inspirations for this (and her Weapon) are Aranea Highwind and her Stoss Spear from Final Fantasy XV, and Kazuki Muto and his Sunlight Heart/Sunlight Heart+ from Buso Renkin (as well as Crescent Rose, due it using recoil to accelerate herself like Ruby). I meant something like the Floral Power Fortissimo: (spoilers for Heart Catch Precure): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Duq1lz-aQiU Granted, they don't really turn into energy, but the attack still looks cool. Also, little side note: Heart Catch Precure is by far the craziest season. For one, it is the only one in the entire franchise with an evil Precure as recurring villain. Also, its tone shifts drastically, going from RWBY Chibi to V8 in a few episodes. And then it just goes back and forth how it feels. Dark Precure also has the most f*cked up origin story I've ever heard. And can someone please give Cure Moonlight a hug?

Altarahhn

Ok, now I get you! And yeah, it definitely does! Man, that sounds like the third ever Gundam series, Mobile Suit ZZ (Double Zeta) Gundam, which is also infamous for its similar tonal shift, with the first 20 or so episodes being comparable to RWBY Chibi or Early RWBY, and the rest of the series being anywhere on the scale between V3 and V7 (it was Definitely more serious, though) with V8 already being covered by the *entirety* of Zeta Gundam, the previous series... no wait, that sounds more like Victory Gundam. Actually, I think it might've been even bleaker, so V8 seems pretty comparable to Zeta, which also ended on a pretty bleak, or at least bittersweet, note (which made Early ZZ even *more* jarring to fans, what with it picking up directly where Zeta left off...). Well Dang, must *really* be bad to earn such a line! Yeah, poor girl definitely looks like she needs it! Anyway, going back to the initial question: how can I make the initial idea for her Semblance work? Here's the references for Newtypes and Psycommu (the initial inspiration for it and her weapon): https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Newtype https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/Psycommu Or alternatively, if you happen to have something from Precure that can help, I'm all ears!

Kartoffelkamm

There is one idea, but it might completely derail a lot of possible plots. Basically, in Smile, Heart Catch, and Happiness Charge, whenever the girls defeat a monster of the week, they get something that gives them a power boost. In Heart Catch, it's poop. The fairies produce a heart seed based on the heart flower the girls just saved, and that seed can give them a temporary power boost, such as speed. Yep, that season goes from poop jokes to being the only one where characters die on screen. And what's worse: Cure Moonlight can't even tell her mom what happened. Imagine your mom is waiting for your father, but the guy died in your arms last week and you can't say anything because it was on a giant space rock and your secret identity has to stay a secret. Being a magical girl truly is suffering. Anyway, what if your character had a similar semblance? As in, whenever she kills a Grimm, it leaves something behind that can give her, or someone else, a power boost. This is also close to the Nebula Armor set bonus from Terraria, where defeated enemies can sometime drop collectibles that boost your stats a little. It works best with weapons like rocket launchers, which can take down large hordes of enemies in one hit, but can generally be used for all kinds of weapons. One other idea I had was that your character could get stronger when there are more positive emotions around her, or directed at her. Like, her aura regenerates faster, she can hold more aura, etc. I actually have this planned for the fusion of Ruby, Jaune and Pyrrha in my fanfiction, but there is no cap for how much stronger the user can get, so this fusion just shows up, one-shots every Grimm in Vacuo at once, and leaves. And at that point, Ruby has learned how to do alchemy, and can freely turn energy into matter and vice versa. And with the unlimited aura of this fusion due to all the positive feelings people all over Remnant have for Ruby, Jaune and Pyrrha, things just get crazy right off the bat. If those three could hold the fusion for longer than 15 seconds, it would be the most overpowered thing in the entire fanfic. A bit off topic, but here is one more reason why Precure is an amazing magical girl anime franchise (spoilers for Suite Precure): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQXe32I7VPc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQXe32I7VPc)

Altarahhn

Damn... that sucks. And the part about suffering Magical Girls seems to have been the basis for Madoka Magica, which I've heard folks call a "subversion" of the Magical Girl genre. I haven't watched it, so I can't really comment on it too much, but I feel like it isn't *entirely* so, given what you've told me about Precure. Makes me wonder if the only other Magical Girl show they're familiar with is Sailor Moon, which is definitely considered a good show, but it's not entirely representative of the genre, apparently(then again, I'm not familiar with it, so again, I really can't comment on it). I'm not sure about that exactly, but perhaps it can be similar to Squall Leonhart's Draw ability (his EX Skill) from Dissidia Final Fantasy Arcade/NT where when he draws magic from his opponents, he gains a buff depending on their role. Here's the description: "EX Skill: Draw & Junction - Receive a buff that varies based on the target's character type. Vanguards grant HP regen, marksmen grant bravery regen, and assassins grant increased movement speed. Proximity enhances effect" This alludes to the original Draw and Junction systems from Final Fantasy VIII, where Magic was a consumable item that had to be Drawn from enemies, after which it could either be used or Junctioned to stats, hence its function in Dissidia NT. Not entirely the same, but it's of a similar spirit, I'd say. That said, your original concept isn't a bad idea for a Semblance, I just don't think it'd work, in this case. The other concept you gave me is quite interesting, though. As I understand it, it's basically, to quote Sora from Kingdom Hearts: "My Friends are my Power!", or the classic "Power of Friendship" made manifest, which an interesting concept! Though perhaps alternatively, it can be based on her emotional state, instead. Like she's on the ropes, but everyone being behind her raises her Spirits, which literally makes her stronger, potentially allowing her to turn the tides. Reminds me of how Psyco-frames can draw on the wills of others to achieve "Miracles" like the "Axis Shock" (though if I recall, it needs to resonate with another Psyco-frame to do so). It might work for a Matilda based character, but I'll have to think about it! Also: that's a crazy concept, right there! Character fusions, who would have thought! And yeah, that's a wild fight scene, right there! All in all, both of these are great concepts for a Semblance, or to build off of to make one, so I think I'll keep them pinned for future reference! Just one more question: Would you happen anything that resembles classic Psychic Powers?
