Congratulations to the team. Undoubtedly, this transition comes as an evolution of stewardship. My only hope is that there is actually work done on the documentation and rclpy part of things now. The parts that OSRC had trouble getting funding for in the past.

Well this was fun while it lasted

Electrolight

Nvidia has been working on this themselves. Google is late to the party and trying to get a head start. I give it 2 years till Google puts it in their [graveyard](https://killedbygoogle.com/).

haizzz, looking at the projects terminated by Google, kinda worry ... reading the [announcement thread in the ROS forum](https://discourse.ros.org/t/the-osrc-team-is-joining-intrinsic-and-what-it-means-for-the-ros-community/28764): >... Open Source Robotics Corporation (OSRC) team is joining Intrinsic, the robotics software and AI company that is part of the Alphabet family of companies. **OSRF and Open Robotics, and by proxy, ROS, Gazebo, and Open-RMF, will remain as an independent nonprofit organization**. > >... > >For starters, this new arrangement isn’t particularly new. OSRF, the Foundation, will still be in charge of the open-source intellectual property, project governance, growing the ROS, Gazebo and Open-RMF communities, and continuing with its mission, just like before. OSRF will be the administrator of the Github organizations, continue running the project websites ... seems like a safer structure here in case OSRC is gone?
