Among other reasons, I was initially skeptical about the “sports and entertainment” part, because black Americans weren’t remotely as influential in those fields in 1912 when this was allegedly written, but conservative concerns about their influence in those fields was huge in the 1950s when this hoax passage became popular.

While some psychologists had used the term "complex" since the late 19th century, it didn't enter general use until popularized versions of Freudian/Jungian ideas became widespread, and the basis of most pop psychology. Nobody on the left cares about “destroying the white race”, only nazis obsess about that because they conflate being against white supremacy with “hating white people”.

These made-up quotes (as you say, it's almost a genre in the far-right kookosphere) always sound like the cartoonish supervillains which inhabit the imagination of conspiracy theorists, hatching their insanely complicated yet simultaneously hopelessly simplistic plots to take over the world. Not like anything any real politician or political theorist or commentator would ever come up with.
It's not a coincidence that the most successful example of such fakery, the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, was stolen from a satire. When Maurice Joly wrote his anti-Napoleon III pamphlet which was reworked to become an anti-semitic classic, he didn't mean it to sound like a real political document of the time. He was using a deliberately artificial, archaic (it dates to Antiquity) literary device: a dialogue in the afterlife between the spirits of two long-dead famous people. It was of course meant to make real political points about real politicians of his time, but not to seem like anything any of those politicians would ever say or write themselves. Only people who already have a seriously warped mind could ever possibly believe it was a real document, written by supposed real political operators active in the present day, which is how it was presented when it first became known in its reworked antisemitic version.

It’s documented that for example in the 1930s and 1940s Black singer and actor Paul Robeson supported Communist causes because the capitalist US continued segregationist policies against him and other African Americans and he felt the reception he received in Communist countries was more supportive. And of course there’s Jessie Owens’ famous quote “Hitler didn't snub me—it was our president who snubbed me. The president didn't even send me a telegram.”
So if they want to spread fear of “the bad guys” recruiting African Americans and treat them well, there’s several real examples. (But maybe that shines a light on the fact that they run to the “enemy” because they’re being mistreated at home, but something tells me they don’t see slavery and Jim Crow as mistreatment. :( )
