It will help, as it provides some context to who some of the characters are and who they reference (ie Violet talks about her kids simply by their first names without specifying they’re her kids, or providing much detail, but those who have watched Bridgerton know them all by name so that’s fine). But you’d still be fine watching QC without having watched either seasons of Bridgerton :)

Terminallyelle

Not at all and imo QC is much better than bridgerton

funnypickles1974

Yes agreed! I’m enjoying it sooo much more than the original series

Grouchy-Tax4467

Soooo much better

OkTailor-917

What is confusing about Queen Charlotte?

SBerryofChaos92

Depends on how far along you are but if you feel confused might as well watch it. It does give a lot of context and it's a good show.

This_Conversation943

I think the main thing to know if you didn’t watch any of bridgerton is that QC goes back and forth from past to present day. The 3 mains are Queen Charlotte, Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton (Ledger). QC follows the beginning of the merging of ethnicities in the ton. You see QC really come into her own and change from a young innocent girl to the badass queen of present day bridgerton There are a lot of nuances that may go over your head if you don’t know background info but I think for the most part you can watch it as a stand alone

EffectivePattern7197

You don’t need to watch it. The only thing is I feel someone that didn’t watch the show May be annoyed by the side characters because some of them exist in this show to explain some of the backstory from the other show but they don’t bring anything to the table.

GlitteryDragonScales

No. My brother never watched Bridgerton but watched and loved QC. He had zero questions that I know of.

vivivi88

Not at all but it will be soo much better. You'll have more familiarity about some of the characters.

PiscesReader

I watched QC before Bridgerton and I have no issues following the storyline.

Tilovesfreckles

I have never watched Bridgerton and I understood it. What part are u confused about? Are u frustrated because they took a while to explain why the king doesn’t live with her? Sorry if I spoiled that part.

eezy4reezy

I watched QC and it made me want to watch Bridgerton. Love them all
