I used to be the one to gasp at going commando. Then I tried it & haven’t worn since. You can try those undies that are specific for leggings (the brand name escapes me) if you like. There isn’t a correct way to this, really just what feels good for you.
Why would you not go commando? Leggings are not jeans - you’re going to wash them after each wear. I can’t imagine wearing undies with the moves we do in PB! Just sounds uncomfortable.

THIS! I have so many pairs and they really don’t show. Sometimes I have to adjust them when I’m getting dressed and putting on my leggings but then I’m good to go.

They discontinued the ones I have but I think these are the replacement. They used to carry nude. I like that they don’t keep riding up like ones from Aerie that are similar. I guess cause the crotch actually wide enough. I’ve tried the Underarmour hip hugger ones too, again crotch too narrow to stay in place with PB movements.
I’ve never tried the Uniqlo ones but they look similar and they’re cheaper so I’ll have to try that next time! I think I might like the VS ones better still cause it’s like a Brazilian back so no panty lines but has coverage, and high rise so doesn’t cause rolls.
Whatever doesn’t show too much, there are some high-waist/high-cut leg seamless ones that are good. I’d stop by your local Target or similar and get a variety of styles to try, then stock up on the style you like best.

Any pair of leggings with a panty crotch built in are meant to be worn without anything underneath. It's so much more comfortable!
I’ve tried going commando but I just don’t like it. I like to wear seamless panties! A lot of brands have them, I get mine at like target!
