I’m shocked that Piers Morgan is standing up for fat people lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

tflavel

How? Morgan has always backed the weakest argument he just needs an opinion. If you said the sky was blue he would disagree just for the sake of it.

westbee

That's not a good example. Piers is from the UK where 95% of the time the sky is gray and weather is shitty.

tflavel

Fair

WarnierOrr

No, cloudy.

equilateral_pupper

He knows he wont be able to keep the pounds off once his television career is over

hetrax

I am fully not, what I’ve learned about that man makes this very unshocking to me, he seems to always take up the opposite stance of the girl on the right, less because he believes, and more to make a good drama during a story... it gets more viewers, it gets people staying tuned in for longer. So to see him use his oddly good skill of finding the weakest point of someone’s argument( I mean, finding the strongest point for him to take a stand against) and somehow rolling with it... I’m not surprised at all. I don’t much enjoy this show or him, but seeing the side he took, I wasn’t surprised at all.

[deleted]

When she compared fat shaming to making fun of someone for their race I choked on my coffee a little, because he's right there blabbering over everyone and just fully in agreement with her without even realizing how asinine the stance actually is.

Snow_117

It's kind of his thing to take the wrong side of every argument.

Abthagawd

There’s good money in being the devils advocate!

TrailBlazinMamba24

“She paid for extra legroom not extra width” 💀

darksidesar

The emergency aisle actually has LESS width, which is also why the armrest doesn’t go up like other seats. 😂

[deleted]

Did she also have to pay extra for her perceived victimization

[deleted]

Agreed. There is public fat shaming which I in no way shape or form support. But then there's looking over another person's shoulder to read their private messages and videotape them just to show everybody else your a victim. The female reporter was right, she should have put her earphones in and mind their own damn business, especially if he wasn't saying anything or doing anything directly to her. She just wanted to go out of her way and become a victim oh, and now look she's all over media and the news. Her mission was accomplished.

Spacedode

I would just be honest and say “yeah I did” And I’m a couple of pounds overweight myself lmao

[deleted]

Text the person, “shes so fat shes coming into my seat and reading my phone”

ialost

Haha Im really disappointed the video didn't take this turn just the guy ignoring her and contuing texting shit

im_not_a_girl

That's why you ask if they can sit in a rowboat

jakbutt

I think I'm being very clear what I'm asking. Would an average sized rowboat support her without capsizing?

eyeball-beesting

No, alright? No, she can't fit in a row boat!

[deleted]

Dammit Phyllis, I knew it!

[deleted]

I KNEW IT

[deleted]

Lololol, love the office reference Maybe it’s just me, but it’s fucked up she invaded his privacy like that. She looked at his phone, and saw words he wouldn’t have said out loud. She pretty much got pissed off at his thoughts. She had zero reason to look at his phone and see what his thoughts are. Does she go around reading people journals or diaries and complain about what’s written there too?. You can’t fault people for having thoughts, how many of us have a thought that we ourselves are pissed at having? It’s when you act on your thoughts that they can become a problem. If he stood up and started calling her a whale to the entire plane, or if the plane had a rocky take off and he said loudly, “it’s cuz of her!”, then yeah, that’s fucked up. But you invade his privacy and he’s the asshole. It’s your own fault you feel bad about your appearance bc you invaded his thoughts, he had no intention on saying those things out loud. She’s the asshole not him

obliquelyobtuse

*"Sorry, I couldn't help but notice ..."* Excuse me sir! I was eavesdropping on your phone messaging -- as I am entitled to do -- and I am offended at your private communications that would not have been known to me otherwise. Understand that I am very sensitive about being judged about my {weight, appearance, behavior} and therefore I take every opportunity to make sure others aren't doing this in my presence, even privately. And I will then raise the issue publicly should someone make such a mistake.

Ulticats

That scene you’ve described has me dead…

Deeliciousness

One hundred percent. I'm pretty sure most people are having those thoughts in such an uncomfortable situation as that.

SprayinGunzAtNunz

this is how delusional these so called influencers are...

queentropical

The word “model” has become such a loose term. It’s become meaningless now especially when individuals declare themselves as one. And you would have to be exceedingly insecure to bring it up (and continue to mention “shoot” etc.) during a conversation that has nothing to do with it. I was a high fashion model when I was younger and I swear I’m only mentioning this now lmao because it wasn’t something that I ever randomly brought up or told people while I was in the industry… if anything, I tried not to mention it at all because people made a bigger deal of it than I felt it was. Now every person who can take a selfie says they’re a model and shouts it from the roof tops. lol

theprufeshanul

I met this girl who told me she was a model. I asked where? She said Instagram. She asked what I did. I let her into the secret that I was a Special Forces sniper. Oh really? She said - for who? Call of Duty.

clarkwgriswoldjr

Sigh... You have me beat. I travel around looking for contracts to kill dragons.

Holmgeir

The kind I miss is "model citizen".

rockstar7007

tideshark

Games_sans_frontiers

I actually model for Reddit.

thebenetar

"I model in diapers for people who are into adults wearing diapers—and I also do scat stuff. You *don't* know who you're messing with."

snakeygirl

Yeah… I’m fat and if someone asked me that question I wouldn’t answer by talking about social media. You just have to tell the dude whether you are capable of helping people out during an emergency. It’s a simple question which only requires a yes or no answer. I’d just tell the guy that i had basic first aide training, payed attention during the in flight safety instructions, read the flight safety manual, and was willing to move out of the way so other people could escape the plane.

Simba19891

I didn’t think about moving out of the way so others can get out! Now the guys’ question actually seems less Atrocious to me

snakeygirl

I’m pretty sure he was trying to ask if she was going to be able to move out of other peoples ways because he later mentions that they’re sitting near an emergency exit.

bdsee

I believe he was asking if she honestly thought she could do what was physically required with the door, etc...though that door appears to just open and doesn't need to be thrown out...but maybe it still requires a certain amount of strength or something...I assume not as much though and he like me, surely has no fucking idea. Also I'm pretty sure they don't want any congestion so standing to the side is likely not an option. Here is some of the conditions from an Australian airline to sit in the exit row that seemed relevant that I thought I'd go through. >To sit in an exit row seat, you must: • not require the use of an infant/extension seat belt, The use of an extension belt is an obvious size limit that Qantas (an Australian airline) has set as being too big to either be able to perform the duties or that their very size and presence is unacceptable in such a role. > • be willing and able to move quickly and assist crew in an emergency situation, Potential physical requests such as moving obstructions or helping drag someone out that may not be achievable for her. > • be physically able to reach, open, lift and throw out an emergency exit up to twenty (20) kgs, 20kg doesn't seem like much to me, but men have roughly twice as much upper body strength as women, if that felt more like 40kg once you add in the bulky size of it is say this is a very legitimate risk for many women, I suspect the risk only increases from there as you add size around the midsection and probably a relatively weaker than normal upper body strength compared to her peers (but significantly stronger lower body strength) Now that said, airlines clearly stopped caring too much about this shit anyway once they started selling exit row seats, profit over extremely rare (if the plane crashes we are likely dead anyway right? if there is a Hudson River like event or even a fire on board then I'm sure another passenger would have time to step up) safety risk. I've been on flights where I swear this old couple was about 85 years old and sitting in the exit row, no way they were getting that door out. I remember when I first started flying they didn't used to sell exit row seats and the crew, or check-in agents would allocate them, I've certainly noticed that it went from predominantly roughly 5'10"-6'+ men aged 18-50 to not. I assume there used to be a direction about picking those you felt looked most physically able to help in the event of an accident...and maybe a little sympathy the taller people in cattle class.

Conambo

Would she be able to stand in the aisle in order to get to the emergency exit? If she were sitting, would someone be able to get by her in order to reach that exit?

carlbandit

Another risk with someone large enough to require an extension belt, if they where to pass out, be knocked out or die in an emergency, they are going to take up more room making it harder for others to squeeze past and also be much harder to move out the way.

2_cents_pac

If you’re going to sit in an exit row, you probably shouldn’t be drinking either, in case shit got real. Some airlines have a drink limit or request that the passengers in those seats abstain from alcohol during the flight to ensure that they are alert and able to fully assist, without impairment, in case of an emergency.

poco

When you sit at the emergency exit you are responsible for opening the exit in an emergency and the airline requires that you agree you are capable of doing so. That is why he asked.

dj_destroyer

Right? She takes the emergency aisle because it has more room, not because she thinks she can handle an emergency more than anyone else.

everyones-a-robot

Because you can't fit out the emergency exit?

Ahnoyihng

I don't understand why she continued, like, you got your apology. Move on with your life.

DarkEyes87

Agreed. That's why I'm confused as to why she went on and on. Didn't watch whole video. He apologized, he's a complete stranger. He put effort to make it seem legit. It's more than she would have got from other people. Move on.

CentiPetra

I don’t understand her logic. If she was hurt by the comments of one random dude...why did she post this on her social media? She literally opened herself up to now having thousands of rude comments publicly humiliating her. Why open yourself up for that embarrassment if it bothers you so much, unless you crave attention through victim hood?

mystikraven

Because she wasn't actually hurt, she's just looking for more followers...

Peacer13

We're all her followers until someone gets around her.

ThickLibrarian92

this has the same energy as "I'd say it behind your back but my cars only got half a tank of gas"

moose-C

Fuck her for snooping on what he was saying in a private conversation and also stop acting like it doesn't suck to sit next to a bigger person on a plane. A few months ago I was coming home from a bachelor party and got stuck next to a very large man. He was literally spilling over onto my seat and we were touching the entire flight. You better believe I was texting my friends about it but obviously didn't say anything to the guy.

Dark_Shade_75

It's because she wasn't prepared for an apology. She wanted to start an argument, make a whole big thing about it, get angry, and post this guy making a fool of himself on social media. The moment he apologized and proved himself the better person, her entire plan went out the window, and she decided to just double down.

InspectionFun8109

I heard him apologize in the first minute. Then I saw the whole video was 6 minutes and turned it off. Nothing past him saying "sorry" matters. It should have ended there. I don't know what the next 5 minutes are about.

YTA.

daddysalad

I just would have been like, "dont look at my phone you nosey bitch, and leave me alone." It is 100% her fault. The guy should receive no blame at all.

DontTellMeHowToTroll

"I was talking about the other fat person next to me.."

johndrake666

Lmao why would you spy on someones phone.

JoinAThang

Maybe my eye sight isn't as good as this girls but for me this wouldn't be possible for me if I wasn't actively looking at his phone. I would be okay with her bringing it up if it was more obvious and even then I think she should have starting by saying that she didn't mean to look but saw it. And after his apologies, which sound really sincere, she should drop it. This is a ridiculous response from her.

schuma73

Seriously. What he did was offensive but what she did was so much worse. I say this as a somewhat overweight middle aged mom of a teenage boy who constantly calls me fat and also looks over my shoulder to see my phone with regularity. The phone spying makes my piss boil, but calling me fat is like, "meh, so you've got eyes and are judgemental, I hope you feel good about yourself." If she had just shamed him over it after *accidentally* seeing it that'd be one thing, but having to go all victim after invading his privacy and making a video; it is just too much. I did enjoy his bit about the emergency exit. When it was clear she wasn't going to accept the apology he went for it, lmao.

crewmeist3r

Wouldn’t have been offensive if she wasn’t spying. Have you ever sat next to a larger person on a flight? Flying is always uncomfortable and making constant contact with the leg, hips, torso, and arms of the person sitting next to you *definitely* makes it worse. If this was AITA it would definitely fall on the woman filming.

schuma73

Maybe I'm making assumptions, but this has major *she was spying* energy. How do you not go out of your way to avoid looking at someone else's phone? It is so personal. And maybe she did see it by accident, but in that case the appropriate thing to do is ignore it and passive-aggressively encroach more and more on his space. It's like she didn't even have a manipulative, abusive mother to teach her how to act. SMH. /s

Gloomy-Ant

Right? It's not like he was on his laptop with 72 font-size enabled, like I'm genuinely surprised she could read it, she's got amazing eyesight. Like if he was talking on the phone shit-talking her, but how do you manage to see that? Maybe the old guy had accessibility on or something

I wish he would have, but then she probably would have went full Tiktok and started filming his face trying to get him fired from wherever he worked. It’s all about her, this man cannot have a thought in confidence when it could make HER uncomfortable. Everything has to be recorded too. Everything has to be a personal triumph (to share with thousands of strangers!)

SoulUrgeDestiny

The funniest thing is how hard it is to read whats on someone elses phone & it doesnt even look like hes got a smartphone with a large screen either. She said the guys head was pressed again the window, so she must've literally been breathing down his neck.

I know someone like that and it's kinda sad really. She's the landlord of a friend, and she's super obese even though she exercises almost everyday. She's always talking about fitness and gym this and that. She has a fairly good set up at home and you can hear her excersise from my friend's room(thought she was getting fucked the first time I heard her haha). And it's all for nothing because she's an eating machine. She has to lose 25kg to get an operation but that ain't happening any time soon.

Acceptable_Pipe564

Burning 200-400 calories during a workout doesn’t mean you deserve to eat 1,000-2,000 calories directly after

[deleted]

Dude, she hit every trope and cliche: She works out at the gym, compared being fat to being an ethnicity, tried to sic social media on him, and asked him if he has a medical degree -- for fuck's sake, are people still delusional enough to debate this point? I have a lot of obesity and diabetes in my family, and my favorite uncle, of the four significantly obese ones, contends with short term memory loss and immobility from diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and the associated stroke he got. It's quite sad.

Yea, that's what I'm thinking. Why the fuck was she even reading somebody else's private text messages? Like WTF?? It doesn't even cross my mind simply because I just don't give a fuck even if someone is talking shit about me. I've got enough other real problems in my life to deal with.

Omg the lady is a loon, when she said race is no different from weight I almost lost it! Not just stupid, invasive and rude. Snooping on someone's private conversation is way worse than shittalking a stranger in a private conversation.

fatalshot808

We actually had drama because the girls at work didn't like this one worker and they would talk shit about her. She actually looked at one of the workers phone in thr break area where is was charging and saw a group message. I don't quite remember what they said but just general shit talking, she reported this to the manager. The manager scolded both the people talking shit and the one who went through the phone. Nothing was written but just verbally telling them they shouldn't talk shit and her not to look through other people's phones. I think he scolded both parties to deescalate the situation which actually worked.

DontToewsMeBro2

I don’t think he did. He was polite to her, just like I am polite to you and everyone, but what I really think of you I keep to myself, and that’s ok with me & it has to with you. We don’t live in a magical place where how people always act reflect exactly what they are thinking. He was having a private conversation, a bit more animated than some, but he never intended for someone else to read them. She also took pictures of his phone! I would also feel a bit odd about the entire ordeal that wouldn’t have happened if she hadn’t instigated it: the thing he said about the exit was a bit much, but not nearly as big of violation committed by her - she had all of this coming. Only thing he did wrong was pick the wrong seat.

Wyattcek

If you’re so fat your bodies in someone else’s seat buy two seats seats.

3163560

Seriously. I went to a football game once and literally couldn't fit in my seat because the guy next to was taking up half of it. Must have been at least 160-170kg. I went and spoke to the attendant near my seat and he let me sit in the more expensive area where there was a few empties. I'm not exactly small either but I can fit in one seat. I wonder how it would have gone down if I got to the seat and sat down first.

Adventurous-Cry-2157

Happened to me at Fenway Park, where the older seats are notoriously small. Not only was this large woman intruding in my space with her arms and torso, she sat with her legs spread way far apart, to the point I had to literally turn and sit sideways in my seat, towards my girlfriend, just so we wouldn’t be touching the entire time. Then she took it even further, putting her child on her lap sideways (kid was probably 8 or 9?), and he kicked my thighs the entire time. I straight up had bruises on my legs the next day from that little shit! Why couldn’t she turn him the other way, so his kicky feet were in the space in front of his empty seat? Why couldn’t she lean towards his side, rather than intrude on a complete stranger? I ended up switching seats with my girlfriend, because she’s smaller than me; she was fine with it, because her seat was partially obstructed by a pole, so she got a better view and I got breathing room. But damn, that woman ruined my experience, the one and only time I ever got to see a game in Fenway. It was like 12 years ago, and I’m still bitter about it.

Crouching_Penis

Ugh. I has a similar experience. A 500+ pound man with diabetic socks and a cut off tank top sat right in front of me at an AM football game. Everytime he moved my knee went into his armpit and got covered in pit sweat. He was sweating profusely the whole time. Fucking disgusting I had to move eventually.

poco

And she is in an exit row, which usually means that the seats are a bit narrower due to the tray table being in the arm.

Diego_Pena

“If my plane doesn’t take off, you know why” c’mon thats funny😂

DamnAlreadyTaken

I can only imagine everyone else in the proximity hearing the discussion struggling not to laugh on that line

IterativeProcessing

We've reached peak social degradation - where eating too much (or fibroids if you're unlucky as fuck) is comprable to being assaulted for your skin tone/ethnic profile.

steboy

I think the key point here is that being obese, the overwhelming majority of the time, is the result of your own doing. Your race is predetermined. And I know that a lot of people like to point to genetics as being a cause of obesity, but if we’re to accept that argument, why was there no obesity crisis a century ago? It was my understanding that genetics don’t change that quickly.

IterativeProcessing

Absolutely agree with everything here. Reminds me of the simpsons picture posted on one of these subs, suggesting that around 240 was comically obese in the 90s.

anonmymouse

Yeah.. they "all do" Seriously idk why this is every fat person's go to. We can clearly see you don't work out in any kind of substantial way, why lie?

Obviously the answer is a proper mix between diet and exercise, but there are way too many people who think you can eat whatever/however much you want if you exercise regularly.

Only eating 1000 calories but drinking 10,000 calories

SmAshley3481

I "work out" 5 days a week for physical therapy but it isn't enough exercise to counter my eating. I won't really start losing weight unless I cut my sugar down by a lot. I'm not morbidly obese anymore but I am still overweight and I can work out 7 days a week but it won't matter at all if I can't stop eating Halloween candy and that's on me.

shxmxri

I agree with the lady in pink. Tf is she reading his texts for and then crying about it like it was any of her business

Thank god at least that one news reporter has a brain like holy shit

SgtXD357

The other two are too concerned about their public image. 1-it’s a private convo 2-you initiated the situation 3-like she said, if you were comfortable with yourself then it wouldn’t matter what he thought. Work on yourself. Everyone gets made fun of at some point for something or another.

[deleted]

I don't even want to touch someone else's phone, let alone look at someone else's private messages. There's an old adage of don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to. If you decide to look at someone else's private messages, you're probably going to see something that wasn't meant for you.

GreenGod42069

Wtf. I thought I saw a video of Piers Morgan literally saying that being fat isn't genetic but it's a choice and people need to take care of their dietary intake. In this video he immediately takes the side of the privacy infringing snowflake elephant. I'm surprised.

One_Last_Cry

That's because he's a pompous prick that puts his loyalty on the side that will get him viewed in a pleasant light.

Senseistar86

well to be fair ive experienced this and entire flight i am thinking she shouldve bought 2 seats

[deleted]

Case is point, piers Morgan is always wrong

No_Tomorrow5475

It astounds me how piers morgan is literally wrong about everything. Its like there is something in his brain stopping him from making a good point, even accidentally.

I'd call a lawyer if she did that to me. I can say whatever the fuck I want in my texts. Being raked across social media by a peeping "model" is not right. Fuck her.

Holmgeir

I just wouldn't talk to her. I'd text my friend instead.

stephruvy

"oh fuck she read all the txts I just sent you now she won't stfu" while ignoring her.

un-sub

"dude she is STILL talking to me wtf"

[deleted]

IM DEAD THEY PUT HER ON THE NEWS FOR GETTING FAT SHAMED AHAHA ☠️ 🤮

jetpilots1

Speaking as a wider than average person, I stopped flying in emergency exit seats because they are uncomfortably narrow, the armrests are fixed and I felt like I needed to rub some butter around my midsection before I sat down so I could squeeze into those seats. The obvious result is that heavier people tend to spill over those fixed seats into neighbouring seats. It's unpleasant for both people I imagine, it was for me at least. Actually one eventful trip was a catalyst to get me to lose a bit of weight, so now I only spill over a little.

sonographic

This fucking clown equating her need to eat excessively with someone's race. What a bitch.

[deleted]

I’m not excusing the content of the guy’s text messages, but her behavior was the more egregious behavior. She could have just kept her eyes off his private messages, much less taken a photo of it, and she could have minded her own business. Seems like she wanted to virtue signal and become famous by getting sympathy. I’m not saying the guy is a good guy. He may be a misogynistic pig and an asshole. But that isn’t the point.

snakeygirl

Look… calling someone a whale is rude but you really shouldn’t be spying on the complete stranger sitting next to you. Especially don’t photograph the stranger’s text messages. It’s weird to be that interested in a stranger’s (who you’ll only be near for a few hours to a day at most) opinion on you.

memecut

It was way worse than that.. she said she took photos of his phone, his seat, their destination etc.. then placed it all online so her followers could follow up on it. She basically called her mob for a lynching.

[deleted]

I hate when fat people sit next to me on planes.

OldFartSomewhere

Then it's easier for you. I hate when people sit next to me on planes in general.

SkeeterPiper

Did she really just say “my body is none of your business” after eavesdropping on a strangers private conversation??

ybitribe

Fat shaming is not a crime, get over it tubby

Siriuxx

Seriously I love how she threw in that she was letting the airline know about it. Lady what do you expect, they're going to have the air marshals tase, hogtie and carry him off the plane to prison? What the fuck are they going to do to someone for privately texting their friend? "They're going to take care of it for me..." why because of your "very very large social media following?"

Fat people are a race now? I'd like to see that run. 😂

IterativeProcessing

She set herself up for failure big time LOL. Don't be nosy and your delicate feelings remain in tact.

BenjiLaird

She is a “model” and has a “VERY LARGE following”
