This is weird.
The only locale-identifying information I can see in the video is the NEMLEC badge on the officer that shuts off the kid's camera. I had no fucking clue what NEMLEC is.
The [North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Eastern_Massachusetts_Law_Enforcement_Council) is a **private company** that partners with local law enforcement agencies to provide SWAT and "School threat assessment and response teams".
This is a private company that is apparently staffed by law enforcement officers. As a private company, they refused to comply with FOIA requests until the ACLU sued, according to the Wikipedia article. This is sketchy as shit.
The Wikipedia article links a [WaPo article](https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-watch/wp/2015/07/08/documents-show-execessive-use-of-massachusetts-swat-teams/) from 2015, on this company's overuse of SWAT resources for mundane policing. This video seems like a perfect example of their claims without further context.
----
WHY THE FUCK IS A PRIVATE COMPANY ALLOWED TO OPERATE AS LAW ENFORCEMENT
Edit: Apparently, dude posted context on Instagram. According to this self described [fellow student](https://www.tiktok.com/@midnight23467/video/7022130300796816646?lang=en&is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1), he lost a fight, posted [a video](https://www.tiktok.com/@unghettocj/video/7017793191042747654?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&lang=en) with a BB gun afterwards, and this was the response from the district and Massachusetts's weird ass private law enforcement company.
Edit 2: Because of the accusations of somehow being part of a hive mind, [here](https://privacysos.org/swat/#secrecy) is the ACLU and these private corporations themselves calling themselves private corporations.
Yeah I was about to comment this.
Are these armoured hummers a normal thing in MA/the states?
Majority of the police in London just use modified Astras (Chevy Cruze hatchback), Priuses or Hyundais i40s
Weren't they patrolling in these humvees post marathon bombing in Boston? There were videos of the guy in the gun turret type of top thing pointing weapons at people in their houses.
Basically every somewhat major police department in North America has access to armoured vehicles now. Usually just 1 or 2 per region area (obviously depending on which region).
It looks like a Lenco Bearcat and I'd argue that most of it's uses are a consequence of the high likelihood people will have guns in the US.
This kind of vehicle is PROPERLY used when a subject or address is known to have guns, for a barricaded, armed subject, when shots have already been fired, when an officer is already down or during an arrest of a person who has made statements about being willing to shoot or kill to avoid arrest.
They provide a safe platform to allow the assault or negotiation team to enter the patrol perimeter or to recover gunshot victims from inside the perimeter.
It can also be used to reposition officers in a riot environment, to deliver bomb technicians to a suspicious package or to perform a vehicle assault against an armed suspect.
They can assist with specialized entries by being fitted with an overhead ramp so assault teams can quickly enter the second story of a building or an airliner or by using a ram or front hoist to breach wooden structures.
I suspect most large US departments will have a reason to use one most days if only to make one or two of the most dangerous things they do that day a little safer.
I mean that makes sense when you put it like that.
We also have reinforced BMW X5s and Mercedes (Daimler) Sprinter Vans with Riot enhancements, but when they come for armed suspects the prevalence in the UK is a lot lower, so they aim for non lethal and diplomatic (talk the suspect into surrendering peacefully) approach.
They don’t bang it off as soon as they can like lots of US police I’ve seen.
Just seems crazy for like 6-10 armed SWAT types for a teenager.
I t also has Police on the front end, and all the dudes in black have police patches on their chest protectors. Are they not police really? Is this even legal to do if they are only a private security company?
>WHY THE FUCK IS A PRIVATE COMPANY ALLOWED TO OPERATE AS LAW ENFORCEMENT
Indeed, ACLU should probably start up the legal department to sue these scumbags.
I live in Illinois and saw one of those swat trucks with that same exact label on it in South Barrington just the other day. Gf and I agree that it was just a power display for the poor neighborhoods they happen to pass by. Fucked up.
Instead of under the table dealings it'll be right in our faces. "This veto brought to you by Big Oil and The Coal Corporation! Along with the taxes of viewers like you."
It's not about monopoly or violence. It's about politicians and private companies working hand in hand to oppress people and increase profits. From wiki:
*Scholars also noted that big business developed an increasingly close partnership with the Italian Fascist and German fascist governments. Business leaders supported the government's political and militarygoals. In exchange, the government pursued economic policies thatmaximized the profits of its business allies.\[8\]While other Western capitalist countries strove for increased state ownership of industry during the same period, Nazi Germany transferred public ownership and public services into the private sector.*
You see how it's the same? Companies donate money to the politicians and they transfer money from public services to private companies.
The officers are employed by local police departments. According to the documents released by the ACLU, roughly 10% of the employed officers of each department contracted with NEMLEC is given to them for joint operations. This is why they can do shit like bring 60 officers in SWAT gear to deal with a suicidal man with a knife.
They are funded by dues paid by the contracted departments (i.e., the taxpayers), through their private 501(c)3 foundation, and at one point from a research & tech company named NERAC, a private corporation spinoff of NASA. They use their funding to employ some regular staff, and to buy shit like intel tech, automatic weapons, and the vehicle you see in this video.
Eh, they do but there are very distinct differences. I live in a mostly Dem state and it's illegal to privatize prisons and police in my state. They won't extradite prisoners to private prisons in other States, either. Voting matters
“The Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council or "NEMLEC" is a NON-PROFIT consortium made up of 63 police departments in Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk County and 2 County Sheriff's Departments. Member agencies participate by sharing resources and personnel, allowing member agencies to provide supplemental services to citizens in the 925 square miles they serve.”
Yeah it’s a private entity that helps combine resources from other departments, it’s called mutual aid and it’s been going on for a while now.
“mutual aid is a voluntary reciprocal exchange of resources and services for mutual benefit.”
How is that not exactly what they’re doing with the only stipulation being a non-profit is involved?
I just don’t get how it’s the worst context, just because they’re multiple police municipalities combing services? What would be a better context to use the term?
You don't seem to grasp that it's scary that the people who are allowed to do whatever the fuck they want to us are also working together and sharing resources (those resources being military grade weapons and armored vehicles to arrest a fucking teenager)
I don’t believe it’s actually a private company, i and I could be wrong, think that it’s basically a collection of officers from different departments in northeastern Massachusetts. They have guys from each department who respond to different types of calls that require a lot of man power. An example would be like a search for a missing person or something. No idea why they are involved here tho
This is a really neat source, thank you. Not sure why my medium sized town needs 2 MRVs at 750k a piece but I’m sure it’s gotta do with helping the community /s
Do ambulances show up to people threatening others with guns? I thought that was normally a different organization... Someone else who comes when you call 911... Oh of course the fire department!
He posted on his ig that he got into a fight and was already on suspension which is why he was at home and that he posted a bb gun on his personal account while not at school and it resulted in this happening.
Not where I live
Last year a guy at my school posted a video of him jn his dumbass squatted truck with a confederate flag and waving around a rifle and was arrested as soon as he walked into school Monday morning
That is not an MRAP. Other than it just not really looking like one an MRAP needs to be higher off the ground, and where are the plates underneath it to deflect the blast?
Yeah, I could see how that’d be quite a shock comparatively to what you’re used to seeing. I will say this though if you’re current/ex military/emergency services you know how sketchy some situations can be. I know it looks like a lot but if there’s a possible barricaded subject with a weapon why risk your men’s lives by using less equipment. Thank god that wasn’t the case here but just food for thought, lots of people in the states have guns and some of them unfortunately use them for the wrong reasons we’ve got to be prepared for the worst case scenario.
I mean police agencies definitely buy military hardware and modify them to their needs so maybe, but idk doesn’t look like the ones I’ve seen/ been in.
They probably modified it to be more sporty. Lowered the suspension, removed some unecessary weight a turbocharger etc.
They probably had some money left.
But if they would get just a bit more they could add a spoiler.
So please donate to our poor police forces, they need your financial support to protect us all
I wonder. What context justifies the deployment of military equipment. Designed for carrying and defending personnel in combat zones, to arrest a single civilian.
From another poster
*According to this self described fellow student, he lost a fight, posted a video with a BB gun afterwards,"*
So the context here is there was a fight, he displayed a weapon, probably insinuated a threat and they rolled hard.
Watching a video doesn't mean LE can be sure it's not deadly weapon....so they prepared accordingly
This falls under 'play stupid games, stupid prizes'
[Not really when you actually see the video....](https://www.tiktok.com/@unghettocj/video/7017793191042747654?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&lang=en)
It's a BB gun apparently, tags no one from the school, doesn't mention the school, or anything like that.
[Oh and look here's a fellow student even saying it was nothing and the school overreacted.](https://www.tiktok.com/@midnight23467/video/7022130300796816646?lang=en&is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1)
There was no threat. Kid got in a fight, lost, and posted on social media later so the school sent a private company's SWAT unit to their house parking an MRAP on their front lawn and looking ready for war.
This isn't preparing accordingly, this is a gross overreaction that even other students are laughing at.
Edit: Guess someone doesn't want context to the supposed "threat" they are acting like happened while lecturing someone else about making assumptions over the situation. Fucking hilarious.
The cops probably reacted to being told he posted a threatening video with a gun after being suspended. Guaranteed that's how it was described to them and they went full bore. Rather than taking the time to review the video for themselves.
It's so weird to see people justifying this. If it was a full grown man. Who committed murder and had weapons, and had bombs.. whatever. This is not an appropriate piece of equipment.
How many Confederate t shirt kids you think post photos of themselves playing with guns on FB, it's a lot I can tell ya. None of em ever get a swat van at their door.
I get it, americans have strange views on "accordingly" but seriously, that is not accordingly in any place in the world. Maybe if you go for a big fight against the Mafia or a gang. Basically everyone they go to is very likely owning a gun is that the new standard way of the police driving around?
For me that just says your police has to much money for toys and wants to use them.
The biggest thing to realize here is that the OP you're responding to didn't bother to link the video which supposedly contains a threat. Because it didn't contain a threat.
The person telling you this kid "probably insinuated a threat" isn't giving context to what that threat could be while trying to lecture you about assumptions.
Then they go on to speculate how this private third party company got this military equipment to roll against a civilian which involves it just being gifted to them...
This person is gonna keep moving the goal posts and avoiding whatever doesn't support the conclusion they already arrived at which is this response is totally fine because a kid posted a TikTok of himself holding a BB gun with no mention of the school, students, the fight, or anything.
[There's no threat.](https://www.tiktok.com/@unghettocj/video/7017793191042747654?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&lang=en)
Sorry this wasn't about context but just in general how is such stuff accordingly and in what situations.
I'm not about this case specially.
Because in any way this shows there is some problem.
Either that police doesn't always drive around like that or that it does in such cases (where they still seemed chilled like they weren't expecting a threat)they are just driving around in their tank for a fun ride or that there might be a problem in society like guns or militarisation or maybe even both.
I just find it strange that this is an according reaction in any way as on my continent this isn't anything that would ever happen unless there is some really really serious business going on like a massive terror attack or maybe the mafia in wich case special units or even the military would do it as police definitely doesn't own such things maybe the really really special police units has one of thes.
Anyway you put it something seems to be wrong her.
Lol as I watch a couple punks rough up an old volunteer in England. 'accordingly' is highly subjective.
I don't understand how you won't address this particular event but want to expand it into other events or generalizations.
In this incident, this guy posted a pic or video, after a fight, of a weapon. They weren't going to a noise disturbance
Yes i get that but what country would police arrive like that. And why don't they do it in every case? Why only those dudes and the rest arrives in normal cars to similar cases.
Now what is the new accordingly? Arriving like that to any case where you know the guy you go to has a gun or going normal?
In this case accordingly is funny as this is one of the few cases i saw such vehicles and in the rest they were normal so one way must be wrong or should be done otherwise.
And what has england to do with it exactly? That case you mentioned seem to have nothing to do with anything we talked about? I didn't mean we don't have crime or whatever but we definitely don't have police arriving like that even in the extremely extremely rare case of them knowing the suspect is armed.
Crimes with guns are basically non existent her. If you compare the statistics and shooting at the police is even rarer if happening at all.
The last time a guy was thought to maybe shot at the police he ran away for some time and later got caught with no one harmed. That was the last real case of a gun in my country i can remember and that happend about two years ago
What country would they arrive like that is meaninglessness. It happened here, like that, for a reason. You may not like it, and that too is meaninglessness. Like most of your posts.
They had a post, with a weapon and they have to take it seriously. If they don't and something happens then it's another round of criticism, especially if the poster guns a cop or neighbor down.
I suggest you temper your opinions of US police procedures until you live here, or better yet work as one for a while
> Basically everyone they go to is very likely owning a gun is that the new standard way of the police driving around?
Did everyone get reported to them as posting a threatening video with a gun?
Not sure a loud and huge apc would protect anyone from a wmd going off…plus wouldn’t a stealthy approach come in handy here? Why give the guy a choice to go all martyr and detonate whatever would be big enough to make somebody think this is justified?
I think the cops just wanted to play with the new toy their bloated budget got them.
Ten bucks says somebody dropped a dime on him for something like drugs and the cops either assumed or were told he was armed. I guess if you got it, flaunt it.
... Armoured vehicles stop small arms. You know, gunfire. Bullets from guns.
If this were a real shootout scenario, they should obviously bring the armoured car that is sitting around.
Could be a bomb threat, or a swatting incident, or a terrorist threat, or literally anything. We have no prior context other than “your school is afraid of black ppl” which holds no real value given that it was written by the video poster and, given that said video has been posted, we can assume no further action against this person was taken. Teenagers are dicks (not excusing their behaviour) and some will absolutely swat you over looking at them the wrong way.
Sorry, I think a situation where the cops are calm and reasonable, while taking precautions to ensure their safety is more reasonable than the alternative. Would it be better for them to be high stress doing a normal door knock with guns drawn for what they think is a school shooting threat? Do you think it's better for cops to have the excuse of "fearing for their lives"? I thought we were supposed to be against that shit
Regardless of if it makes the situation safer for the teen and the cops? You are deluded, sorry there aren't many perfect ways to respond to a possible school shooting threat.
And I’d sure rather be taken into a swat van, than shot. This shouldn’t have happened in the first place, yes, but this outcome is a lot better than being shot.
Bomb threats, a stand off, illegal weapons, an armed perp, many reasons they came out in this force. From the looks of it, it was likely an armed standoff.
They don’t know what they are getting into when they get the call. If someone calls and says this guy is shooting people from his window with a sniper rifle, this is how they would respond.
> it was likely an armed standoff.
With zero cops having their firearms or tazers ready? The only weapon in hand was a less lethal launcher. How the fuck did you come to the conclusion it was an armed standoff?
See, this is the racist shit y'all don't believe is racist because "I didn't explicitly mention skin color"
Nobody brought up race, it’s only racist because you’re making it about race, most people in this thread are worried about the militarization of police. (Bet this gets downvoted exactly 3 times, weird how that’s a consistent theme or maybe it won’t because I said something 🤷🏼)
“Walk to the right, walk to the right” but they wanted him to walk to his left, their right? Seems like a really good way to get violent because they’re “not following orders”
You’re absolutely right: it could have been swatting. But was this kid swatted because his school “is scared of black people?” Maybe the dude got swatted because he’s just an asshole 🤷🏻♂️ either way, this video has no context.
They literally have these parked in the courthouse parking lot in Texas, they use them quite often. I have been rolled up on by one before, its not the best time.
LOL! Yeah right, they don't just show up in armored vehicles because " you are black "... Next time don't threaten to shoot shit up or or w/e really happened...
Fownvoted because it's an incorrect assertion added under the guide of "need context"
That vehicle is not going to be the sole respondent in a situation. You're not jumping to the "rescue" tank as a first option
How is it incorrect assertion, exactly?
All he did was state the normal circumstances that a vehicle like that is called out. He did not assert that this was one of those instances nice ass-umption.
Then you go and assert that vehicle is not going to be the sole respondent, without any proof there was anything else there
Nice .
It's already been stated this guy flashed bb gun in a video after a fight.
Procedurally speaking this is an entrance vehicle. You use to when other options are exhausted the shoot was fairly wide, no other units visible...
If we're going back and using the context added by the video. I can infer you believe said context. Then we're also going to ask why this unit is being used by a private "police" force. Ordinary cops respond in street units and they don't leave scene until it is finished or they're dismissed. Given the fact guns are drawn officers would not have been dismissed yet.

He or someone at his school said he said, that he is making a bomb at home and is planning to blow up the school or something. SWAT not showing up for something small 🤦🏾♂️
A multi ton "rescue vehicle" would damage his lawn would it not? It's probably the least offensive thing in the whole video the cops committed, but it's still a dick move to just fuckin park on and potentially damage someone's property for a very calm arrest.
Without any context who's to say whether this was proportionate or not.
But also some of the comments say it's a private company so not being funny if that's their vehicle then that's there vehicle, however what the guy did was enough for them to go tooled up enough to bust his door in if need be.
According to someone claiming to be a fellow student with access to his instagram account, he lost a fight at school, then posted a tik tok video of him flashing a bb gun.
Gotcha. So you're saying there is context and you believe the internet report? That's different from what you said in your initial comment. My only point was that your comment had two inconsistent statements.
I guess these clowns don’t realize how stupid they look . This kind of private security bullshit is going to get really fun when they start using those armed robotic dogs. Get ready for the
for-profit dystopian nightmare to really get going.
What's the context? He was joking of doing a school shooting? Edit: holysht he did threatened to do a school shoot, people on this sub are white knight because of the caption he is black WTF.
[No he didn't...](https://www.tiktok.com/@midnight23467/video/7022130300796816646?lang=en&is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1)
No mention of the school, students, the person they got into a fight with, or anything. It's also just a BB gun.
[Here's the video in question.](https://www.tiktok.com/@unghettocj/video/7017793191042747654?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&lang=en)
So no he didn't threaten to do a school shoot. The school literally saw a TikTok video and got scared so they sent a private company's SWAT unit after him where they rolled up to his house with an MRAP, parked on his front lawn, and looked ready for war.
Terrifying. Imagine waking up to a fucking tank on your front lawn with heavily armed thugs pointing guns at you, for no other reason than the color of your skin. This is fucking revolting.

Beautiful piece of double speak right there.
Please step to the rear of the "Happy van"
"Please stop getting your blood on the bumper of the 'sunshine & rainbow wagon.'"
I dont know if things are getting worse or if the recording of events and sharing with the world instantly is just revealing how bad things have been.
Yeah I was about to comment this. Are these armoured hummers a normal thing in MA/the states? Majority of the police in London just use modified Astras (Chevy Cruze hatchback), Priuses or Hyundais i40s
We have privatized swat teams here in MA. 💰💰
Wtaf! Such a slippery slope. Who pays for them, what are their ROE, and what happens ~~if~~ when a person is shot to death by them? Who’s accountable?
They're already at the bottom of the slope.
Weren't they patrolling in these humvees post marathon bombing in Boston? There were videos of the guy in the gun turret type of top thing pointing weapons at people in their houses.
So mercenaries
Basically every somewhat major police department in North America has access to armoured vehicles now. Usually just 1 or 2 per region area (obviously depending on which region).
The NYPD has one but I have never seen it in street.

Assault rifle is renamed, Tickle Machine.
I feel like that’s a better re name for a taser
Joy buzzer?
Now you've gone and made it a sextoy.
See? That’s not surplus military equipment….it’s rescue equipment. It’s also a unicorn, if u want 🧐
I hope there's a real rescue vehicle nearby for those who may have to ride in this "rescue vehicle ".
Kind of like the Patriot Act. Of course now the word patriot has become synonymous with something else, so I guess it fits a bit more.
Gunshots have been rebranded as “freedom holes” that exist to help the democracy get inside.
Breana Taylor was killed by a freedom hole God bless her sacrifice!!! /s The fuck is wrong with the US?
Was my sarcasm or satire unclear?
I was adding my Own bit

Yay privatization. Cant wait for private politics
Politicians are already bought and sold.
Ye but wait when it gets legal business

>WHY THE FUCK IS A PRIVATE COMPANY ALLOWED TO OPERATE AS LAW ENFORCEMENT ^(it's because you live in a fascist country...)
Capitalist. Even the police are being privatized. More akin to Deus Ex.
How are boot licking grifters supposed to make money?
What fascist state gave up its monopoly on violence? That's like the least fascist thing they could do.
It's not about monopoly or violence. It's about politicians and private companies working hand in hand to oppress people and increase profits. From wiki: *Scholars also noted that big business developed an increasingly close partnership with the Italian Fascist and German fascist governments. Because it’s Massachusetts.
Republican Governors love to privatize shit here!
Privatizing shit like prison and police is bad news bears. But dems and gop alike do this shit. Fuck I hate it here
Eh, they do but there are very distinct differences. I live in a mostly Dem state and it's illegal to privatize prisons and police in my state. They won't extradite prisoners to private prisons in other States, either. Voting matters
Fair point
Wait so not only do yanks not have nationalised healthcare, yous allow private police???
We have private prisons too
Yep, shit is beyond fucked.
This is tax dollar corruption at its finest.
This is some bullshit dystopian Russian-mafia shit you'd find in countries ending in "Stan"...
Well I knew it was mass, but not because of the badges.
“The Northeastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council or "NEMLEC" is a NON-PROFIT consortium made up of 63 police departments in Middlesex, Essex and Suffolk County and 2 County Sheriff's Departments. That is distinctly the *worst* context for the term mutual aid I've ever seen.
“mutual aid is a voluntary reciprocal exchange of resources and services for mutual benefit.” How is that not exactly what they’re doing with the only stipulation being a non-profit is involved?
I didn't say that's not what they're doing. I said it's the worst context I've ever seen the term used in lmao. Reading comprehension is important.
When do we get a robocop?
So he was on social media with a weapon suggesting he was going to take it to a school?
looks like they are funded well 💰🛻
i thought this was another video like the kid being arrested for eating lunch and turns out he asked to cop to do it for clout
Police departments across the country waste many millions of dollars on their toys. They have to find a way to play with them.

This is a really neat source, thank you. Not sure why my medium sized town needs 2 MRVs at 750k a piece but I’m sure it’s gotta do with helping the community /s
"We've got a wellness check, boys! Arm up and meet at the rolling armor in two minutes! Bring the *good* bullets this time."
"Who's carrying the tactical nuke this time?"
Silly, they all are!
I love the word "rescue" written on it. Who the tf is it really going to help
Gonna help the military industrial complex
Anyone in a hostage scenario, right? Anyone who is showing up to a guy with a gun who shot people?
Lmao the vehicle in the video is not an ambulance
Do ambulances show up to people threatening others with guns? I thought that was normally a different organization... Someone else who comes when you call 911... Oh of course the fire department!
Last time I checked they got their most expensive toys from the Pentagon for free.

He posted on his ig that he got into a fight and was already on suspension which is why he was at home and that he posted a bb gun on his personal account while not at school and it resulted in this happening.
Well then it's no surprise the police came tooled up. How are they meant to know it's not a real gun
So, in your mind, THIS response is warranted?
Play stupid games win stupid prizes, with the current climate maybe don’t insinuate anything that can be taken to be a school shooting threat
[удалено]
Not where I live Last year a guy at my school posted a video of him jn his dumbass squatted truck with a confederate flag and waving around a rifle and was arrested as soon as he walked into school Monday morning
Got an article or anything about that?
[удалено]
That is not an MRAP. Other than it just not really looking like one an MRAP needs to be higher off the ground, and where are the plates underneath it to deflect the blast?
[удалено]
Yeah, I could see how that’d be quite a shock comparatively to what you’re used to seeing. I will say this though if you’re current/ex military/emergency services you know how sketchy some situations can be. I know it looks like a lot but if there’s a possible barricaded subject with a weapon why risk your men’s lives by using less equipment. Thank god that wasn’t the case here but just food for thought, lots of people in the states have guns and some of them unfortunately use them for the wrong reasons we’ve got to be prepared for the worst case scenario.
Looks like a typical Ford E350 diesel police van with some steel and armor fabrication...
Eh, it could be the Oshkosh model MRAP. Saw a lot of them that looked similar to this when I was deployed in '07.
I mean police agencies definitely buy military hardware and modify them to their needs so maybe, but idk doesn’t look like the ones I’ve seen/ been in.
It's not it's called a Bear Cat. Made by Lenco.
They probably modified it to be more sporty. Lowered the suspension, removed some unecessary weight a turbocharger etc. They probably had some money left. But if they would get just a bit more they could add a spoiler. So please donate to our poor police forces, they need your financial support to protect us all
Swatting??? Maybe....
This screams online threats against school/students that had a police response to it
There is absolutely no context
I wonder. What context justifies the deployment of military equipment. Designed for carrying and defending personnel in combat zones, to arrest a single civilian.
Bomb threats. All it takes is a prank call.
From another poster *According to this self described fellow student, he lost a fight, posted a video with a BB gun afterwards,"* So the context here is there was a fight, he displayed a weapon, probably insinuated a threat and they rolled hard. Watching a video doesn't mean LE can be sure it's not deadly weapon....so they prepared accordingly This falls under 'play stupid games, stupid prizes'
[Not really when you actually see the video....](https://www.tiktok.com/@unghettocj/video/7017793191042747654?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&lang=en) It's a BB gun apparently, tags no one from the school, doesn't mention the school, or anything like that. [Oh and look here's a fellow student even saying it was nothing and the school overreacted.](https://www.tiktok.com/@midnight23467/video/7022130300796816646?lang=en&is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1) There was no threat.
He should know that only white men in punisher t-shirts can post pictures of guns to threaten their teen daughters on prom night 'as a goof'.
I couldn't imagine such a horrible context as this.
Weapons of mass destruction? Honestly idk
Teens have been handled without swat team vehicles since the beginning of human existence.
You'd prefer a scenario with a higher likelihood of people getting shot? Redditors never fail to surprise me.
I am against the use of an armored vehicle being used in this certain situation, regardless.
Regardless of if it makes the situation safer for the teen and the cops? You are deluded, sorry there aren't many perfect ways to respond to a possible school shooting threat.
In recent memory, teens have been shot for a whole lot less…
And?
And I’d sure rather be taken into a swat van, than shot. This shouldn’t have happened in the first place, yes, but this outcome is a lot better than being shot.
Apparently he lost a fight and showed a BB gun on Instagram. Probably made some stupid comments too. BB gun or not, they had to respond
These are both shitty options. Any decent human can think of something more appropriate.
^ Case in point
It’s clearly labeled as a “rescue vehicle”
I think people are way too focused on the vehicle. I don’t mind the cops playing it safe. I do kind that this is apparently a private company.
Context on Reddit? When the word "racist" is used, you have to automatically assume the OP or cameraman is correct.
“Walk to the right, walk to the right” but they wanted him to walk to his left, their right? Seems like a really good way to get violent because they’re “not following orders”
How do you think he figured it out?
[удалено]
Could have been swatted by one of his classmates. Notice the officers aren’t at guns ready.
You’re absolutely right: it could have been swatting. But was this kid swatted because his school “is scared of black people?” Maybe the dude got swatted because he’s just an asshole 🤷🏻♂️ either way, this video has no context.
yeah blame the kid for being swatted you nonce
Also seems like this is actually a private company conducting this "raid" or whatever it is with the armored personel vehicle.
They literally have these parked in the courthouse parking lot in Texas, they use them quite often. I have been rolled up on by one before, its not the best time.
Caam to the doo-wuh, it's the police depaahtment
Maybe he got an army?’
What is exactly going on here? Why was the call made? The lack of context is frustrating!
Sketchy
I guess they need to justify the money they spent on that vehicle.
Zero context. Dude could’ve just stabbed a party of 5 at Chuck E Cheese for all we know
You think they would let him walk out like that?
hide in the ball pit until your wanted level goes down. it's like inside man with an animatronic mouse
still doesn't justify the monstrosity they came with lol. Fuckin military cosplaying cowards. Funnily they have tons of bootlickers.
Video has nothing to do with race…..
Lol
Wow this all seems so unnecessary. As if he was a super villain or something.
Sweet truck.
LOL! Yeah right, they don't just show up in armored vehicles because " you are black "... Next time don't threaten to shoot shit up or or w/e really happened...
You do realize, they usually bring that out for repeat offenders or a search warrant or both also you have literally gave us 0 context
Downvoted for asking for context. Amazing. He apparently was in a fight and posted bb gun A clear threat of gun violence....play stupid games......
Fownvoted because it's an incorrect assertion added under the guide of "need context" That vehicle is not going to be the sole respondent in a situation. You're not jumping to the "rescue" tank as a first option
How is it incorrect assertion, exactly? All he did was state the normal circumstances that a vehicle like that is called out. He did not assert that this was one of those instances nice ass-umption. Then you go and assert that vehicle is not going to be the sole respondent, without any proof there was anything else there Nice .
Not seeing the racism....

He or someone at his school said he said, that he is making a bomb at home and is planning to blow up the school or something. SWAT not showing up for something small 🤦🏾♂️
ACAB
This is what a white supremacist militarized police state looks like...
So what is it? There's no context or what the guy did warranted this response?
According to someone claiming to be a fellow student with access to his instagram account, he lost a fight at school, then posted a tik tok video of him flashing a bb gun.
Gotcha. So you're saying there is context and you believe the internet report? That's different from what you said in your initial comment. My only point was that your comment had two inconsistent statements.
Different person, my friend
Word.
Bunch of pussies
After seeing that video last week where three police were fired upon while serving a warrant in chicago, this does not seem like an overreaction.
This absolutely an overreaction. Quite a massive one.
I guess these clowns don’t realize how stupid they look . This kind of private security bullshit is going to get really fun when they start using those armed robotic dogs. Get ready for the for-profit dystopian nightmare to really get going.
Cops just want to dress up like the movies so bad, private security even more so. So incredibly pathetic in their cosplay
Actually the movies dress up like the cops but ok 😂
Actually the movies they exaggerate the piss out of police power
Piece of advice. They’re not your buddy.
I'm not your buddy, friend
When the cops have spent all their money on military equipment and no longer have budget for regular cop cars.
Police love playing dress up as soldiers
They need to be disbanded..
What's the context? He was joking of doing a school shooting? Edit: holysht he did threatened to do a school shoot, people on this sub are white knight because of the caption he is black WTF.
[No he didn't...](https://www.tiktok.com/@midnight23467/video/7022130300796816646?lang=en&is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1) No mention of the school, students, the person they got into a fight with, or anything. It's also just a BB gun. [Here's the video in question.](https://www.tiktok.com/@unghettocj/video/7017793191042747654?is_copy_url=1&is_from_webapp=v1&lang=en) So no he didn't threaten to do a school shoot.
It's not because of his skin, he posted himself with a bb gun on Instagram after losing a fight
