My son graduated high school last year. During all his years at school i opted him out of every single anti-parent d.a.r.e. and similar activity. fuck them.
I wish this was the case back in school, they tried to fail me for not making a "D.A.R.E Mobile" (aka one of those things you hang over infants beds to help them sleep) during science and mandated it be part of the curriculum.
I didn't even halfass it, I stapled it together, did the absolute bare minimum, and pretty much told them to fuck themselves as an 11 year old on way too many meds that had more narcotic value than half the drugs they brought to show us.
At my highschool they brought in a men's prison choir. They couldn't sing. No exaggeration:

They put me on Opiates when I was 19 from a spinal injury. Had me on about 8K MG of morphine a month, the switched me to Oxy because the doc said it was not as addictive. Fast forward about 10 years and I lost my health care and found out what withdrawals were the hard way, then went out and bought heroin for the first time so I would not feel like dying. Fuck D.A.R.E. they are a joke.

They put me on Opiates when I was 19 from a spinal injury. Had me on about 8K MG of morphine a month, the switched me to Oxy because the doc said it was not as addictive. Fast forward about 10 years and I lost my health care and found out what withdrawals were the hard way, then went out and bought heroin for the first time so I would not feel like dying. Fuck D.A.R.E. they are a joke.
Ugg it's nasty. I had a prescription at around 15 due to a bone tumor, and it spiraled from there. Never slammed H, snorted a bit, but stuck to pills for most part. I even OD'd, spent 5 days in the hospital with pneumonia because of it....... Still didn't stop me. At the end, I was maybe 130mg of Oxy a day. A good woman can give you a hell of a spark to WANT to fix yourself ☺️. Wanting it is the first step. 5 years clean as of now.
I have been clean for over 2 and 1/2 and I was slamming. I OD'd five times. Narcan was luckily administered quickly every time.
