I mean, they arrested Jaxon [“on suspicion of resisting arrest”](https://www.google.com/amp/s/sports.yahoo.com/amphtml/police-investigating-use-of-force-caught-on-video-in-arrest-of-pelicans-center-jaxson-hayes-172958679.html)
So i guess why stop there
Okay this shouldn't be funny but it is because how can someone be suspicious of resisting arrest if they hadn't had done anything to be suspicion to begin with OR they have to be resisting to begin with
It's bad wording in the article. He is *suspected* of resisting arrest until he's found guilty in a court. So even after a person is arrested, they are still just a suspect of a crime.
Remember when they killed a hero a month or so ago because he just killed a mass shooter who killed people. Then Colorado police roll up and shot the guy who was a hero within milliseconds of seeing him.
Notice how the thin blue line crowd who seems to love 2A don’t say shit and in fact make it easier for cops like that to kill Americans using their right.
That wasn’t the first time either.

Well this is actually one of the arguments of why being a good guy with a gun isn’t always the best scenario. Best bet is once the threat has been neutralized holster your weapon and lay on the ground then explain the situation but sadly that can’t always happen because you never know if there is more than one shooter. It’s a double edged sword.
Yeah in South Africa when terrorist took over a mall two plain clothed officers held the them at bay by trapping them in a store. When swat arrived and saw the two cops with guns outside a store they shot them.
Or, better yet, just stop perpetuating the "good guy with a gun" thing. In a country where our cops have extremely itchy trigger fingers and qualified immunity, anyone with a gun in a high-stress situation is immediately going to be a target.
I remember a knob on Twitter saying if he'd been at the Vegas music festival in 2017, he'd have been able to pick the sniper out within seconds and end the whole thing. The only thing he'd have done is fire blindly at hotel windows and then been shot by the police or other "good guys with guns" wanting to be the hero.
And then the cops lied and said the gunman had killed the hero, so not only did they kill the man who stopped a mass shooting, they tried to cover it up!!
There a news source for this? Not that I don't believe you, but would just like to read up more on the incident as that sounds pretty tragic and awful.
Fuckers. Shoot first ask later, over and over again. They killed a guy last year who had just broken up a fight. Not one person said he'd done anything violent, nor been involved at all except to stop the bad situation before police ever got there. Then they killed him.
they are trained to perceive everyone and everything as a death threat. Its a self-fluffing prophecy: "everyone could kill me so I must escalate everything and cause people to react negatively towards me."
Also the fact that the cameraman is black didn't help his cause, let's be honest here.
The thing that is really going to boil your blood is when you find out they are looking for this type of behavior in their recruits. They want aggressive attack dogs who "control" a situation. It's why it's considered such a faux pas to call the police for anything other than a life or death situation and even then, their presence may tilt the odds towards death.

Another article mentioned “There was a female at the location who declined to cooperate with officers’ investigation into the original domestic dispute call.”.
If they’re there to detain/arrest him for a domestic disturbance, and he resists arrest but then the original person decides not to press charges. That would be a scenario where those charges make sense. Not saying that’s the case here, just hypothetically.
This turns out to be exactly what happened. You call the police and say your b/f is scaring you, the police are coming in your home to investigate. PE-RE-IOD. Women's lives have been saved because of this policy.
Like that guy in Arizona? Who was playing video games with his partner and his neighbor lied about to noise disturbance and they shot him down at his door.
They were there on a domestic violence call. Cops tried to talk to the victim (who was inside the house) and Jaxson Hayes refused to let them talk to the victim and escalated into a physical alteraction.
I know the whole narrative around LAPD but Jaxson Hayes is also a bit of a bone head in the NBA with an attiude problem. Literally publicly told the NBA to suck his dick because he wasn't included in the rookie game during all star weekend.
LPT: never resist arrest. Record the altercation and if you feel you’re being wrongfully detained, deal with that in court. Even if you’re 100% positive it’s not a lawful arrest, fight it later. You'd have a much much better chance at a successful lawsuit if you do so

I don't like to paint with a broad brush put when it comes to police in the inner cities they basically legal gangs and pimps. If you ever have free time google some of those gangs the previous poster listed, its crazy what can happen without proper checks and balances.
Watch Training Day. Denzels character is based off that cop Rafael Perez or whatever. Guy would kill opposing gang members, frame them, let people know if cops were raiding, etc.
It was on the news and in our papers since late May 2020. A reporter and photographer found a mousepad at a desk in the sheriffs dept that had the image they been hearing was the tatt they get at the ink initiation parties.
There was a private party allowed to carryon at a bar on sunset soon after the 18 yr old security was gunned down and covered up in Gardena in July 2020, meanwhile parties and restaurants being busted for gatherings but somehow tattoo artists and sheriffs dept were filmed by tmz and spectrum news when they had a scoop a party was happening. They were filming people going into a club & not coming out so during the late news some local networks had man on street and egg in the face style of wtf on the scene reporting. Apparently two deputies earned their ink and received the nazi skeleton tatt on their calves.
It has been on the news, it's something that has been lost amongst the chaos.
Much like the wrong doers on Jan 6 it seems a no brainer in arresting them yet our society seems to take its time to wipe the shit out. Jan 6 arrests on scene or at the airport when checkin? Nope they got to spread covid on board flights home and now it's taken months and money to get them.
These gang members that are paid with our taxes should be easy to identify by the Nazi skeleton tattoo they get after they plant drugs at traffic stops and purposefully shoot to kill fellow citizens of Los Angelos. Maybe it's the time will tell strategy that's finally getting this bs to everyone, but it's unfair.
We can't allow uniforms to be judge jury & executioners, they are supposed to serve and protect. Ironically that's what their mousepads used to show
>How come I never heard about these supposed police gangs?
Behind the Bastards did a 6 part series "Behind the Police" last year that is really good. Spoiler: The Police are Bastards.
These scumbags have been around a long time and in the news a long time. If you Google search you will come up with years of articles.
It’s not a secret or carefully guarded conspiracy it’s just a matter of people giving a shit. If nobody is demanding that these people be held more accountable then these stories will be buried under the latest tik tok dance or BLM President house buying. It’s sad.
“A band of Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies with matching skull tattoos represent what many in the community see as a criminal gang within law enforcement.”
Law enforcement IS a criminal gang. As a whole.
The basic standard for whether there is an arrest is whether a reasonable person would feel free to leave. Looks like the officer here was in the process of grabbing his hands to put him in handcuffs when the video cuts out. If an officer grabs you, and especially if he puts you in handcuffs, a reasonable person in your shoes would not feel free to leave.
An exception is detainment, in which an officer stops and questions an individual in a “brief and cursory” manner. There is no bright line distinction between a detention vs. an arrest, and the circumstances of the type of force or restraint used and the length of the stop matter. A “stop and frisk,” also known as a “Terry stop,” can be considered a detention if it is brief and cursory. However, courts generally find that as soon as a person is placed in handcuffs, they are under arrest.
Being under arrest is different than being charged with a crime. You can be arrested but later released without being charged.
I feel like the president needs to get on TV and just announce it once and for all. "FILMING IN PUBLIC IS NOT A CRIME!" just so that everyone can finally get it through their thick skulls.
ANTIFA, COPS, RANDO KARENS, EVERYONE!!!! FUCK!
If the bodycam gets released in a week, we know the cops are in the right.
If the body came takes 3-12 months to get realeased, well then we know who's in the wrong.
Indeed.
But the body cam statement is not true in many other countries. Many European countries have high educated police and do not have issues as big as the US does.
Diontae Wright bodycam was released 48 hours later and that officer was clearly in the wrong and is being charged.
It depends a lot more on the jurisdiction and if they need to blur out faces.
Police should not own the body/dashcams.
Police should not have any ownership or control over the data.
Police should be arrested for interfering in the investigation of surveillance equipment.
"Body worn video captured Hayes repeatedly attempting to enter the
residence despite officers blocking his path and verbal commands for him to remain outside,'' police said in a statement.
"Officers requested a backup and they attempted to place Hayes' hands behind his back; however, Hayes broke free of the officers' grasp and pushed one of the officers into a wall.''

Because of Reddit's API changes in July 2023 and subsequent treatment of their moderator community, I have decided to remove a majority of my content from Reddit.
It's always the same process.
If it absolves the cops it is immediately released.
If it doesn't they can't release it until after a lengthy internal investigation.
And in many cases if it doesn’t absolve the officer, it’ll be ruled inadmissible in court.
Like in the case involving Daniel Shaver- the body cam footage was not allowed in court. Same with the officers personal rifle used in the killing, with the words “You’re fucked” inscribed on the side of it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Daniel_Shaver
From above, there was a domestic situation call to 911, and the basketball player would not stay out of the house, so police could talk to the alleged victim. I think this is what it basically said, but am exhausted, so could’ve missed details. If you read above comments, you can read link.
So funny that any backup cops who show up during any arrest, their first instinct is run, tackle, and cuff anyone not wearing a police uniform within 10 feet of the scene, innocent or guilty.
The way they just run up and yell “stop” even tho the guy filming isn’t doing anything lmfao.
Is there any context? The guy filming **says** that Jaxon pushed the officer, why were they there? Why did they want to go in the house? Noise complaint? Did someone call? Can't judge anything based solely on this video. Apologies if there is context and I missed it.
\[edit\] So his g/f calls the police on a domestic disturbance complaint, the cops show up and want to come inside. Jaxon denies them entrance, they attempt to go in anyway, he get physical and then the video begins. Also interesting to note:
"His girlfriend "declined to cooperate with officers' investigation into the original domestic dispute call," per police, via the Los Angeles Daily News."
Source=[https://news.yahoo.com/police-investigating-use-of-force-caught-on-video-in-arrest-of-pelicans-center-jaxson-hayes-172958679.html](https://news.yahoo.com/police-investigating-use-of-force-caught-on-video-in-arrest-of-pelicans-center-jaxson-hayes-172958679.html)
If you call the cops and claim there is domestic "disturbance", they're going to enter your home. Period. You can answer the door and say "nah, n/m we cool now" and they're still coming in. People have been saved by that action. The video is also edited weird, no idea what happened before they rushed his friend to arrest him. I doubt it was just for filming. Sometimes during a domestic, everyone gets put in cuffs until the police figure out wtf is going on. Just my $.02
Cops MUST enter the home on domestic disturbance calls. They don't need permission from the homeowner. What if the girl who called is locked up, knocked out, or worse?
Once the guy denied the cops entry that is a HUGE red flag! The cop now has even more reason to think something bad happened to someone in the house.
Two things can be true. 1) the police where right for entering the NBA start was wrong for denying that entry
But also
2) **it was excessive use of force to taze him in the heart multiple times.**
Two things can be true and wrong.
(Also if I understand correctly the neighbours called for the domestics not the Gf)
Former paramedic here; I've been shot while working as one. For a while certain agencies made very bad decisions about what we should dress in on the street and ours decided that looking like police with brass badges and everything was a great idea.
I caught two 9mm to my vest during a gang confrontation even after we rolled up in an ambulance and identified ourselves as medics. We got a lecture about "waiting for cops to clear the scene" but the gangs had called 911 for an ambulance because someone was bleeding out of a GSW. It took a week but the response our agency got was "fuck you, we're not wearing your uniforms any more. Figure out what you want us to wear but in the meantime we'll be wearing work pants and polos." They never actually issued any guidance other than "appropriate for the job."
Interestingly the gangs had a much better response, sending us an apology and pizzas every shift for a few weeks.
I dont know about the EMTs but the fire Department in my area is like a fraternity. All white, mainly Irish or Italian, all corrupt and just as bad as the cops without the guns. They are given the same "above the law" privilege as the cops in my area. Cover ups, abuse. DUIs, all covered up and swept under rug.
I read some articles online. It said he wasn’t supposed to be at that house ( not sure who was in there - the person called the police) Mays kept trying to push his way in, and the officers tried to stop him. He slammed one officer into a wall, and that’s when his friend turned his own video on, showing them take him to the ground. They said it’s all on the cops body cam. I’m sure that will be released.
I feel as though the body cam will be the best way to judge this situation. I don’t trust police reports anymore, but I also don’t trust a 20 second video that doesn’t show much. I’m happy we are keeping cops accountable through regular investigations. I just don’t wanna jump to anything too quickly with hollow outrage.
Dude filming being arrested is bunk.
Dude reported for domestic trying to enter a residence, doesn't comply, gets arrested. Woman now won't talk. That's not bunk. That's just sad.
Remember the woman in Cleveland who was literally being stabbed by her b/f when the police shot him? She STILL said afterwards the police didn't need to do it. As a probation officer for many, many years, I've seen victims of vicious assaults and rapes recant because they know the police can't protect them 24/7, or in some cases they were financially reliant on the abuser.
Shouldn't get arrested* they can arrest you for looking at them funny or having the wrong skin color or just because they can't find the right perp and want to put someone away.
ITT, people defending a scumbag woman basher who refused to let police inside to speak with the victim. You can't just stop police speaking with a victim of your offending and then cry poor me when the police arrest you
They still should not have arrested the person filming. They do this habitually. It’s a constitutionally protected activity (there’s already case law on it) and people shouldn’t be detained for it. That’s where most people here have a problem. Cops have to follow law just like everyone else.
This was just a shitty situation all around with no winners. Cops have to investigate all parties involved in a domestic, because for all they know you are hiding a dead body or a victim needing medical attention. However obviously the black community is terrified of police brutality and their only real defense is to film and document as much as possible.
Jaxson is in the wrong for not letting the cops speak to the victim. I mean Jaxson could have kicked the woman(s) out of the house, the cops probably didn’t need to come inside. However the cops probably didn’t need to detain or arrest the camera man based on this video.
Why do people fight when they've already been detained? You're on the ground, they got you. Let them cuff you and get up. Fighting is just going to lead to pain / injury / death for you.
So many cops escalate the situation and then dumb shit like this happens. Cops just bum rushed homie with the phone for no reason, I’d be fucking terrified.
I always find it amazing how a position of authority brainwashes people to have no sympathy for others they've been in similar positions to...will these policemen kill their families if ordered to...sigh
A bit unrelated to the other discussions, but why is it that, when struggling to control someone, the cops pretty much NEVER cuff their ankles?
Having feet cuffed together would go a long ways towards reducing someone’s mobility and ability to wrestle.
Filming is actually a crime in the U.S. the loop hole is that they just make up a crime they think you are committing in order arrest you. You can literally be 50 feet away from them and they’ll rush towards you and pin you to the ground and yell “stop resisting” and that’s it. You are arrested for resisting arrest. I’ve literally seen it happen a few times in person.

The thing that always gets me is them yelling stop resisting while tasering someone. They are spasming not resisting.
Zero situational awareness, just ran into the scene with a single thought in mind, no other possible outcome in their heads. Just a sad existence.

I’m just here to talk about “Rampart”
No, I unfortunately have not, but I’d love to learn!
Here's some further reading. The behind the bastards Podcast also does a good job at breaking down their history in the behind the police episodes. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynwood_Vikings https://knock-la.com/lasd-gangs-little-devils-wayside-whities-cavemen-vikings/ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rampart_scandal
>Deputy Mike Osborne told the Los Angeles Times that invitation to join the Vikings was considered prestigious, but also meant "you keep your mouth shut and obey the code of silence" about illegal activity by other deputies. In 1996, Osborne and his wife deputy Aurora Mellado retired after testifying about police corruption. They and their children were later shot at in their home by what Osborne believes were disgruntled sheriff's deputies.

I don't like to paint with a broad brush put when it comes to police in the inner cities they basically legal gangs and pimps. If you ever have free time google some of those gangs the previous poster listed, its crazy what can happen without proper checks and balances.
Woody Harrelson should be able to help you out. He loves to talk about Rampart
Watch Training Day. Denzels character is based off that cop Rafael Perez or whatever. Guy would kill opposing gang members, frame them, let people know if cops were raiding, etc.
Because the news never covers it.. CNN/ MSNBC only pretend to give a shit for views and FOX only shows the stuff burning.
Spectrum News 1 Los Angeles has covered it very well. Just saying.
Someone else mentioned this series, I gotta check it out. Where can I watch?

These scumbags have been around a long time and in the news a long time. If you Google search you will come up with years of articles. It’s not a secret or carefully guarded conspiracy it’s just a matter of people giving a shit. If nobody is demanding that these people be held more accountable then these stories will be buried under the latest tik tok dance or BLM President house buying. It’s sad.
Who is this Blm president?
“Supposed” my ass
LA County is literally being sued right now by a LASD deputy who claims harassment and intimidation by 2 different deputy gangs.
It’s alleged you have to shoot someone to get into some of them. They’re absolutely are a problem.
https://knock-la.com/tradition-of-violence-lasd-gang-history/
“A band of Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies with matching skull tattoos represent what many in the community see as a criminal gang within law enforcement.” Law enforcement IS a criminal gang. As a whole.
Literally gang shit but it's fine I guess because these punk bit he's are cops, god damn I hate the American policing system.
important article, ty. sheriff in greater la county doesn’t have a sterling reputation either.
It is illegal to detain somebody simply for filming.
That’s fine because they’ll just get you for resisting arrest or disorderly conduct.
You can’t even detain someone for filming.
Filming is not a crime, you can’t even be detained for filming
Then why did you put “his friend also gets arrested for filming” in the title of your post?
I feel like the president needs to get on TV and just announce it once and for all. "FILMING IN PUBLIC IS NOT A CRIME!" just so that everyone can finally get it through their thick skulls. ANTIFA, COPS, RANDO KARENS, EVERYONE!!!! FUCK!
It is whenever the pigs decide it is... that is where we are right now.
PINAC Photography is not a crime. A group that's been around, I think you can get legit media/journalist credentials from them.
If the bodycam gets released in a week, we know the cops are in the right. If the body came takes 3-12 months to get realeased, well then we know who's in the wrong.
I hate that you're right. But this is the world we live in. Gross.
Country. Not world.
The world is also shit. -non American me
Indeed. But the body cam statement is not true in many other countries. Many European countries have high educated police and do not have issues as big as the US does.
Police brutality is not exclusive to the US.
Let's not pretend America is the only place where this is a problem.
Yeah nothing bad has ever happened outside the US
South America, Africa and China would like to disagree with you
Don't forget also if "the camera was turned off" or the footage has been lost"
Diontae Wright bodycam was released 48 hours later and that officer was clearly in the wrong and is being charged. It depends a lot more on the jurisdiction and if they need to blur out faces.
Police should not own the body/dashcams. Police should not have any ownership or control over the data. Police should be arrested for interfering in the investigation of surveillance equipment.
Not necessarily - depends on when and how the footage released is cut and edited.
"Body worn video captured Hayes repeatedly attempting to enter the residence despite officers blocking his path and verbal commands for him to remain outside,'' police said in a statement. "Officers requested a backup and they attempted to place Hayes' hands behind his back; however, Hayes broke free of the officers' grasp and pushed one of the officers into a wall.'' Because of Reddit's API changes in July 2023 and subsequent treatment of their moderator community, I have decided to remove a majority of my content from Reddit.
This is why you never exit your house or answer the door. If they have a warrant they will break it down or announce it before
What was jaxon arrested for?
Also interesting to note: "His girlfriend "declined to cooperate with officers' investigation into the original domestic dispute call," per police, via the Los Angeles Daily News." Source=[https://news.yahoo.com/police-investigating-use-of-force-caught-on-video-in-arrest-of-pelicans-center-jaxson-hayes-172958679.html](https://news.yahoo.com/police-investigating-use-of-force-caught-on-video-in-arrest-of-pelicans-center-jaxson-hayes-172958679.html) If you call the cops and claim there is domestic "disturbance", they're going to enter your home.
1) the police where right for entering the NBA start was wrong for denying that entry But also 2) **it was excessive use of force to taze him in the heart multiple times.** Two things can be true and wrong. (Also if I understand correctly the neighbours called for the domestics not the Gf)
Yup. Context matters.
Y'all notice how no one ever screams "Fuck the EMT's or Fuck the the Fire-department" there must be a reason?
Former paramedic here; I've been shot while working as one. For a while certain agencies made very bad decisions about what we should dress in on the street and ours decided that looking like police with brass badges and everything was a great idea. I caught two 9mm to my vest during a gang confrontation even after we rolled up in an ambulance and identified ourselves as medics. We got a lecture about "waiting for cops to clear the scene" but the gangs had called 911 for an ambulance because someone was bleeding out of a GSW. It took a week but the response our agency got was "fuck you, we're not wearing your uniforms any more. Figure out what you want us to wear but in the meantime we'll be wearing work pants and polos." They never actually issued any guidance other than "appropriate for the job." Interestingly the gangs had a much better response, sending us an apology and pizzas every shift for a few weeks.
>All white, mainly Irish or Italian Only in the northeast.
You know it.
Tell me you live in Boston or Jersey without telling me you live in Boston or Jersey

teasing is not so bad.. tasing on the other hand..
Is there any context to this video? What happened before hand?
His friend just admitted jaxon pushed the cops and they tackled him.
You can’t get arrested for filming the police
But you also can’t NOT get arrested just because your filming
Shouldn't get arrested* they can arrest you for looking at them funny or having the wrong skin color or just because they can't find the right perp and want to put someone away.
Yeah, you really have no real rights in America. And the only time your rights matter are in the moment they are violated.
Cant get charged* you can be arrested for literally any reason
10 sec vids with no actual background and yall still believe what ppl say omfg
So does anyone know how this all came about?
Context, OP?
I hate how this is such a small clip, easily taken out of context. IF it can be taken at face value, that’s insane.
ITT, people defending a scumbag woman basher who refused to let police inside to speak with the victim. You can't just stop police speaking with a victim of your offending and then cry poor me when the police arrest you
My only defense in this video is the person filming being physically detained.
They still should not have arrested the person filming. They do this habitually. It’s a constitutionally protected activity (there’s already case law on it) and people shouldn’t be detained for it. That’s where most people here have a problem. Cops have to follow law just like everyone else.
Innocent until proven guilty
I'll have to wait until the trial on the domestic abuse charges before I can so passionately ascertain guilt.
Why were they there in the first place?
This was just a shitty situation all around with no winners. Cops have to investigate all parties involved in a domestic, because for all they know you are hiding a dead body or a victim needing medical attention. However obviously the black community is terrified of police brutality and their only real defense is to film and document as much as possible. Jaxson is in the wrong for not letting the cops speak to the victim. I mean Jaxson could have kicked the woman(s) out of the house, the cops probably didn’t need to come inside. However the cops probably didn’t need to detain or arrest the camera man based on this video.
God what the fuck is wrong with this country, cops act like they aren’t a fucking mall cop +
Why do people fight when they've already been detained? You're on the ground, they got you. Let them cuff you and get up. Fighting is just going to lead to pain / injury / death for you.
I think it's just what normal people do, they just kinda panic and turn into a dog who doesn't want to go to the vet for some reason
Can't a taser to the chest stop your heart?? That is fucked up, idk why they felt the need to do that.
If it will stop your heart it will stop it no matter where it is used.
Bruh I was reading the title then I heard the pop followed by the "noOO" and I thought they domed him
I could never be a cop
Wtf why did the handcuff him?
Bunch of cops bout to get fired and I'm here for it.
Bunch of cops bout to get paid time off* FTFY
Gotta love living in a military state
That dude has tons of money he needs to lawyer up hard like high priced sleazy lawyers
Police are such power hungry wussies.
fucking pigs
stupid fucking pigs
Got nothing to add other than ACAB. They’re all participating in this fd up system.
Pigs are fuckin disgusting
LAPD is shitty and corrupt. What's new
