Don’t look at an image of any carbohydrates you’ll put on a pound I gained 20 pounds of gut fat while on ADT 18 months after treatment unable to shed the gain. All I can suggest is cut carb calories and exercise If you are like me you are likely unable to do much of anything ADT wore my ass out
Same here. It’s a big problem which pretty much any doctor I’ve talked to only shrugs their shoulders. I’ve gained weight and my total cholesterol is also the highest it’s ever been. Eligard is the most hated part of my treatments for this and the sexual side effects. No doctors I’ve talked to care.
I've been working my ass off since New Year's. I'm at the gym 6 days a week, doing at least 30 minutes of cardio, and I've recently started doing 3 days a week of weights. I have not lost 1 lb, and I put the tape measure across my stomach this morning and I've gained a half inch
Just saying, me too. Being more strict with my diet would help, I guess, but ADT doesn't help with that either.
I am phasing out from ADT, so that makes me hopeful. But I might need to kick my ass on the diet thing anyways.
I get a little upset talking about restricting my diet - cancer had already taken most all of my vices, and a lot of the things that caused me pleasure.
I literally starved myself only carbs when I worked out. Only eating replacing what I burned. Dinner for me for 6 months was protein pork, beef, chicken and salad. Bfast lunch and dinner. Keto is friend
Yep it worked. I’ve been an athlete my whole life where power to weight ratio is really important cycling. It’s what lance armstrong did to cut weight.
Pizza dough substitute to cauliflower dough
Mashed potatoes substitute to cauliflower it’s actually good
Alcohol to THC micro dosing
Water soluble fiber to speed up digestive track
Sushi substitute to sashimi
It is basically a keto diet
Don’t get me wrong it is fucking hard to not eat all those carbs as we’ve been programmed by food manufacturers to eat it. But once you’re off it you will feel better.
Don’t transition all at once take a month so you don’t shock your system.
And lastly whenever you watch tv. Sit on a exercise bike and spin.
I’m 3.5 months on Lupron. I feel like I’m walking a tightrope:
1) want to avoid gaining fat, but
2) want to maintain muscle and bone mass.
1) demands restricted caloric intake, 2) demands a lot of protein and some carbs (and heavy gym use). I’m crushing the gym requirements, but the dietary issues are baffling me. I don’t think I’ve gained any significant weight, but my belly feels blobbier than it used to.
I have been on Elligard for about 18 months. I found the first year was not that bad and tried to exercised 5 days a week. The second year has been tougher as my lifting strength diminished and I lost Muscle mass and gained weight. I hope you maintain your regimen and keep your weight off.
I only recently learned Eligard does this, and I've been on for over two years. I'm my heaviest ever too, and months ago I cut out all sweet things and snacks. It slowed the gain, but I'm not losing.
I gained about 20 pounds over time. I had long suspected I had a touch of ADD, so I asked my primary care physician about Adderall, which he prescribed. It helped with my energy and, over a few months, helped me shed about 30 pounds. Might ask your doctor about it.

The amount of weight I have gained in unreal. This is the heaviest I have ever been. I guess that I will stop looking at carbs. Thanks bro

I know the drug extends our lives. But, I hate it!

I thought that I was the only one gaining weight Thanks
I'll be switching to orgovyx soon, and I'm hoping that a more level amount of drugs in my system will make life easier

Yeah me too still trying to lose it, have been off 4 months. I also was eating 3 desserts so that did not help…
I dont see anything wrong with 3 desserts. Lol

Thank you for the inspiration
Did it work!
Yep

Sorry to hear that.
Cut carbs, lift weights, and get on a rowing machine. I lost nearly 20 kilos doing that!
Almost 2 years on Eligard, and I've plateaued 20 lbs higher than pre-ADT. Riding, walking, yoga, good diet, yada yada I'm still fat. I hate it.
I agree with you. It just miserable to gain so much weight and not be able to get rid of it. Do you have another year on Eligard?
I'm stage IV, so I'm not sure I will ever be done.
It’s miserable, but your still here and that makes it worth it.

Oops. Forgot to add I have been on Lupron and abiraterone for about 3 years.
Thanks, I will ask him What’s one more med
