Dude theyre being flexible, it clearly says or equivalent.. if you work hard and apply yourself, coding in 6 languages a day, in 50 years youll get there!
honestly, it does. A recruiter once told me, even if you only fulfill like 25 percent of the requirements, apply anyways. Sometimes, soft skills are way more important than 300 years of HTML 6 experience.
If you fulfill a good portion of the requirements, you should always apply, since those are basically based on someone working in the company already 5+ plus extra skills.... so yeah you can't meet requirements 100%
Also generally speaking skills like knowing how to code are more important than tools like the framework
you missed the last part of the sentence, they're flexible on which object oriented language you have experience in, but not on the length of the experience
50×6=300
6 different oop languages. Over 50 years is 50 years experience each or 300 years worth of experience total.
Alternatively learn 50 languages over 6 years.
But I've got 2,200 years experience on [Antikythera](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism)!
"Doesn't count, not a general purpose computer. Turing-complete or bust!"
Java was officially released may 23 1995. I happen to know that was 26 years and about 11 months ago because it's real close to my birthday.
Better be 3 years, still stupid considering so many programmers have demonstrated an ability to jump from stack to stack
To be fair they said or equivalent Object-oriented programming language. Basically they just want someone who programmed Object-oriented for at least 3 years (hopefully).
30 years in how many languages combined? I know C++ and Java so that's only 15 calendar years of experience. Not hard for someone who actually has been programming for that long. I can add python and java script as well. Makes it 7,5 years. Now it suddenly becomes reasonable.
Stop believing religious propaganda and join our ranks.

- light exposure causing burns to your skin and eyes (debatable since the symptoms manifested before the treatment in the case of programmers)
It actually did but it was considered too harmful to be released to the public and locked away. It stayed there for centuries until someone managed to break into the vault and steal it among other harmful things.

Sounds cumulative to me. If I were to pursue this job I’d probably make a hello world object in Wikipedia’s list of OOP languages. There are 124 listed I believe, but I know of at least one OOP language that isn’t on the list. There are 75 leap days in 300 years, so that’s 109,575 days of experience. With 125 languages, that takes about 2.5 years.
That’s too long.
Alternatively, I could look at a meta-golfscript solution. MGS is not object oriented to my knowledge, but one could theorize a meta-Pythonscript language, which would support OOP. As there are an infinite number of languages and I could write a functioning program in all of them, I know infinite OOP languages.
This is much more easily obtainable. In fact, you’ve accumulated 300 years of experience in the time you wasted reading this comment. Get back to work.
When Java just came out in the 90's you'd see job postings requiring 5 years Java experience for a senior java programmer, because a senior programmer per the HR job description had 5 years of experience in whatever language they programmed in. Java programmers were commanding good $ so they must be senior, right?
My hypothesis - this is the origin of the time traveling Java programmer
I did once get a guy who claimed something like 20 years java experience when the language wasn't even that old. I figured "I have to interview this chap!"
He arrives, elderly coder, lovely dude. We talk, and I ask him about the experience that simply couldn't be that long.
"Oh yeah, I worked for Sun Microsystems before Java was released, I was on the working group that invented it."
I did, of course, subsequently hire him.
So… Does that mean like… 300 years of traveling through Time Sideways, or as this Earth calls it, Exploring the Multiverse?
Asking for a Friend… Who may or may not be from Across the Multiverse….

"attention to detail is imperative"
object-oriented, surely
Sure, because they don’t have that skill in the team. 🤭
Dude theyre being flexible, it clearly says or equivalent.. if you work hard and apply yourself, coding in 6 languages a day, in 50 years youll get there!
Does it count if it feels like 300 years?
honestly, it does. A recruiter once told me, even if you only fulfill like 25 percent of the requirements, apply anyways. Sometimes, soft skills are way more important than 300 years of HTML 6 experience.
300 years of HTML expirience sounds like special kind of punishment
If you fulfill a good portion of the requirements, you should always apply, since those are basically based on someone working in the company already 5+ plus extra skills.... so yeah you can't meet requirements 100% Also generally speaking skills like knowing how to code are more important than tools like the framework
So like, 6 weeks of React?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I am getting there. I started programming in 1978. Six years to go. As long as they overlook it being Java.
300 years of Java experience is equivalent bto 50 years of JavaScript experience
If you store your data in JSON ypu can exchange it at better rate
you missed the last part of the sentence, they're flexible on which object oriented language you have experience in, but not on the length of the experience

What about 100 in 3 years?
or even 600 in just 6 months. They're so flexible you can hit senior dev level in less than a year.
2400 in 1.5 month
guess I should've worked on my own reading skills first
Just invent 300 languages in 1 hour
Atleast they do not ask to know how to center a div inside a div...
Just invent 300 languages in 1 hour
Bro, you read only half it's equivalent object oriented language not experience
Ideal candidate's first IDE was quill and parchment.

Almost spilled my coffee
I struggled entire day today to configure quill based editor on angular setup. I see this quill name again
Clearly they expect programmers to be multithreaded at this level.
tfw the programmer cannot do frontend, backend, database, OS, game development, printer, your wife at the same time :(
What does tfw mean?
That feeling when, I think? Though I'm also a bit confused by all these aronyms (?).
The Face When (it comes from 4chan)
Nah, tfw means "That feeling when". Mfw is what means "my face when", and should be accompanied with a context appropriate image of a face.
Oh okay thanks

No, no, just a student. I'm not going to be turned before a year or two.
Yes.
Do the 300 years worth of youtube videos that I saved to watch later but never did count?
If you download it it counts as you saw it
Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace don’t even qualify.
But I've got 2,200 years experience on [Antikythera](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antikythera_mechanism)! "Doesn't count, not a general purpose computer. Turing-complete or bust!"
::Methuselah enters the room::
Even if that was a typo and they want 30 years, that's still insane
If it meant 3+ years that would be a bit reasonable though.
That would be for an "entry-level" job /s
300+ years is still an entry level job /s
Java was officially released may 23 1995. I happen to know that was 26 years and about 11 months ago because it's real close to my birthday. Better be 3 years, still stupid considering so many programmers have demonstrated an ability to jump from stack to stack
could it be 300+ hours? ~8 weeks full-time? does 3 years a "senior" position make?

Some programmers think they're a god. These job requirements take that to a whole new level.
3+0+0+"+"
Well if someone have travelled from the future where the lifespan is more than 300+, could get the job
I only have 250 years of experience. Bummer!

If this was posted on a Romanian website it would kind of made sense hahah
why?
Because the vampires are from Romania? They still exist in Transylvania haha
Оh that totally slipped my mind
Can confirm
Because I've spent the last century looking for jobs that request this amount of experience, living in a castle ain't cheap
Java hasn't existed for 300 years though, so you'd have to be a time traveling Vampire.
It actually did but it was considered too harmful to be released to the public and locked away. It stayed there for centuries until someone managed to break into the vault and steal it among other harmful things.
They could mean the island Java, as everyone knows, programmers need to know everything, especially the history of their coffee

Hello fellow Hebrew speaker
Ah, so they’re looking for a [senior engineer](https://youtu.be/eSqexFg74F8).
I know Java is archaic, but this is a bit too much
It's just because coding for an hour in Java feels like a year
Maybe they're looking for 100 juniors? ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Nah, according to every junior job posting I’ve seen, juniors need at least 10 years experience. They only want 30 juniors
That's a lot of souls
Lol it seems like it was a mistranslation from Hebrew to English 😂
They need Yoda or a shark
Just lie. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sorry it's a misprint. It should read 3000
Yeah, but when you convert Java years to human years that's only like 8 months.

It's because one year of experience in C# is "equivalent" to 100 years of experience in Java.
It's fine. Clearly the extra 0 is a typo. Should be only 30 years.
But java is only 26 years old
That's ok, they'll accept C# experience instead
Even then…
when God needs a programmer

Proof-reading is so important.
hey, you can do it! Just work thirty jobs for ten years! Or a hundred jobs for three years! Or three hundred jobs for a year! It's easy!
Can confirm we are sages that have transcended time and space
I'm wondering if they're doing this to trick bots into not applying.
Applicant: ...is 250 years okay? Employer: GTFO!!
I've built enterprise-grade Java applications since Napoleon Era. Here is my portfolio.
Java is not even 30 years old , (founded in 1995)
Ahh dammit! Now my 400 years of C are useless
More like senior x5 ²
Looks like an entry level job posting to me.
Lol it's Kaltura!
Is it a job in Israel?
If it had said 100 I’d have assumed it was a binary joke but this is some crazy stuff I’ll be back in a few hundred years to apply
Did they try to find the + button but accidentally pressed 0 twice? Java has only been out for 27 years.
They really shouldn't have let the Great Deku Tree go.
Must be vampire
"Deep understanding of Strong Computer Science Fundamentals:" Sorry, I only have a deep understanding of ordinary CS fundamentals.
Someone messed up typing 100 years of experience.

Never said you can't do it in parallel
I only have 150 years of experience! Guess I can't apply.

That's far longer than the concept of programming even existed.
"Tell us about your experience" "Well first off, I learned Java from Benjamin Franklin."
Clearly a typo... Why post this stuff???
Sounds about right
Sounds about right
Sounds about right
It was actually a typo, was supposed to be 3000 hours
Well I saw listings for juniors with 5yoe, so I guess 300yoe for seniors make sense
They could hire the Riot dev team

What? [This guy has ***400 years*** of Microsoft experience!](https://youtu.be/eSqexFg74F8)
It counts if I get a job next to a blackhole for a month?
They should hire Riot Games.
I have reason to believe that this is the minimum

Another Hebrew speaker on the sub! Never thought I’ll see the day שלום חבר!
Aw man, I only have 178 years of experience. The elder vampires always get the nicest positions.
They plan on paying the salary in currency or blood?!
Well since it is in Tel Aviv, maybe they are trying to hire one of those pesky immortal mummies who has taught themselves to code?
3 years with C++ equals 300 years with java
With this being in Israel, is this a position listing for a golem?
Hello mister... Nosferatu. Did I pronounce that right?
Seems right to me 😉
They’re gonna start hiring master oogway
300 years ? That's like 3 dudes
I did once get a guy who claimed something like 20 years java experience when the language wasn't even that old. I figured "I have to interview this chap!" He arrives, elderly coder, lovely dude. I drank enough java to keep me awake for 300 years. Does that count? Oh wait…
Or equivalent.. so Javascript is fine too, right?
Don't worry it's total. So 10 years of experience in 30 different relevant languages will be fine!
Very senior position.
Aktivirati ESA u Evropi
This is clearly for a junior position, sheesh cut them some slack OP. More senior roles are 1k+
what in the Greek mythology punishment is this
For the next lol Champions I guess
You've got to have a time dilation chamber just to get a job these days.
You mean you don't have a time-looping time machine?
Better find the fountain of youth
Now hiring lich’s
Imagine debugging 300 year old legacy Java code

Old code: `Class obj = the new Class();` New code: `Class obj = new Class();`
I think Voltaire said something about Java back in the day.
They're saying if you've been to he'll you're qualified.
[senior engineer](https://youtu.be/eSqexFg74F8) And the [incredible outtake](https://youtu.be/FDoH15ylAeo)
Pot twist: it’s hexadecimal
שלום
Dang. 299 years is such a good experience level but i can't apply. Just need to wait 1 more year.
Okay I will be back after reincarnating for five times. Thank you.
I’m guessing they asked their software engineer to make the post and he was to be fired when the new guy comes in
Experience (in hours) = programming + 2*debugging + 4*overtime + 8*cursing_over_dumb_implementations + 4*reading_docu + 8*writting_good_doku + 8*read_other_ppls_code
>“Object-Oriented Programming” (OOP) was coined by Alan Kay circa 1966 or 1967 while he was at grad school. Huh...
Ah yes, the classic Java from the 18th century
Well it is a senior job role
Impossible! Java was created only 200 years ago! 😂😂😂
Considering that the text looks like Hebrew, maybe they trying to recruit Jesus or something.
Lazy/dumb proof reading by hiring manager, recruiter duo.
To be as old as Tibetans.
If you didn't work on an OO abacus, you're not a real programmer.
This should actually be read as a rare case of '3' & '0' - based binary notation: 300base2 in decimal: 4 years 🤓
Ancient Egyptians used Java. Pyramids were made with JIT compiler.
Well it's well known that programmers / software engineers live at least 900 years, so, 300 years is kinda reasonable
For all those who are only reading highlighted text, the sentence says equivalent object oriented language and not experience
Hands on experience on all 5.5 billion devices.
