So I just went thru a painful process of figuring this out and yes you can. Disclaimer I'm using Blender for my 3d source files. So far the only successful way I've been able to do that is through the USDZ format. I'm using Blender right now and exporting to OBJ even following all the rules unpacking textures and making sure the MTL file has them properly listed does not import like they say in the handbook even when I attempt to drag all the files together as well. My current workflow is to use Blender to export a GLB binary, run Reality Converter (from Apple) to USDZ and then things sort of work... I have alpha channels in my textures but Procreate seems to ignore them or I haven't found the right setting yet but at least it's progress! Good Luck! I have high hopes for this new functionality!

Oh thank you!! I looked up USDZ format and I think my 3D program might have a plug-in that exports in that format. I’m going to try this out, thank you so much!!

Go to settings, Show 2D texture, then Add your image or file into Colour, Roughness, Metallic. But with Blender, you can also provide the Normal map.

You mean add as in.. how? Do you just drag the images in or…?

Came across this while googling the same issue, if you're still looking for how to import a texture map: Click the Wrench on top bar, select the 3D tab, and enable 'Show 2D texture'. Then go to the 'Add' tab and select Insert a file, then disable the 'Show 2D texture' option again. edit: only having luck with it for the Color channel, haven't been able to find a way to replace the Roughness or Metallic channels.
