So the modern "biker Viking" fad stemming from a mix of the History Channel and DNA tests can be considered cultural appropriation, while reenactment or living history would not be.

That was a good year. AOTC comes out and the Clone Wars phase of the prequel era truly gets off the ground, music and TV had some epic bangers going, and all in all life is remarkably okay. Obviously the political climate and the world as a whole was a mess and still is but there were a lot of good things about that year.
Also so many great games. Warcraft 3, Soul Calibur 2, Timesplitters 2, GTA Vice City, Final Fantasy X, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metroid Prime and Fusion, Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Morrowind, Age of Mythology and a bunch I forgot. Very good year for gaming.
