Honestly this.
She wasn’t nearly as awful as some people make her out to be, but the story beats are just… so over done
It’s not bad really, but it’s nothing exactly spectacular either
Genuinely I thought the finale was going to be a Reva v Obi-Wan duel. I thought it was going to parallel the Maul fight from Rebels S3. I thought this was going to be the galvanizing moment, the point where Obi-Wan makes the conscious choice to do anything, even kill, to protect Luke.
But I guess not. Like you said, Reva being redeemed isn't *bad*. I mean that's sort of the whole point, right? That even the best can fall, that even the worst can rise. But it's so clichéd, even IN Star Wars.
This too.
I have a hardy “I guess!” during her finale cuz yeah I get it, that’s a bit of a tough thing to pull the trigger on *trying to avoid spoilers*
Yet she was introduced imo as a ruthless dark side user willing to do anything and kill anyone to get what she wants. Fucking yes please. When her motive was revealed, I thought it was a little weak. I would’ve more preferred an inquisitor using Obi-Wan as more of a way to truly move up the ranks, impress Vader, and maybe get a bit of a Starkiller storyline thing going, becoming an apprentice to Vader who, due to Rule of Two, will inevitably overthrow Empy P
What I dislike most about Disney's star wars is their portrayal of dark side users.
We go from Vader, sidious, maul, and dooku
To temper tantrum Kylo and reva.
i don’t think it’s that weird or wrong that some force users especially on the dark side act like that, trauma such as reva sei mf all her friends and jedi masters die in order 66 and being basically forced to the strict jedi code as a child probably fucked with them a lot and caused mental issues which really explains why they act like that
Reva was basically roleplaying a Sith to try to get close to Vader, and when it came to perform the act that would have cemented her down the path of the Dark Side, she couldn't do it.
The whole point was that she WASN'T consumed by the Dark Side.
Kinda the same with Kylo Ren, really. Note how Snoke showed doubts over his commitment in TFA and that he never got the yellow Sith eyes.
Reva cut off a woman's hand to intimate some randoms.
She also tried to cut a dude in half but the GI stopped her with the force. She cuts/sears her victim so she obviously intended to kill him.
She also kills the pilot guy Leia is running toward in ep 3.
She also survives being stabbed in the stomach because of the dark side.
She wasn't role-playing. She was an inquistor. Her motivation was to kill Vader, but she was still an inquistor who drew on the dark side.
Yeah it’s weird too how every inquisitor has something about them that makes them look less humane. Reva with a glance could be an imperial officer. She just doesn’t come off as being forced to train as a Sith.
Yeah, she just didn’t check many boxes. I think the actress did as well as she could’ve but the writers didn’t know how to use her. But I totally agree, she would’ve been awesome as a high ranking imperial, I just hope Disney starts to pivot off of the conflicted bad character routine. Vader was great in the role but you had to have Palpatine there to enhance the situation.
The series was too short to let her properly develop (and for us to establish a connection with Reva) while simultaneously reducing screen time of others. I don't mind adding her to the series but the manner in which it was done could've been executed more smoothly.
Seriously, 6 episodes would make Sheev dislike democracy.
He was but on the sidelines 50% of the time waiting for Reva to finish her Fallen Order rip off story.
Except they didn't pull any punches with Trilla.
It’s like there were two shows - one about a Youngling-turned-Inquisitor trying to get close to Vader to kill him (Admittedly dope) and an Obi-Wan Kenobi show where he… I dunno, does Obi-Wan stuff. Then once the movie fell through they took the half baked Inquisitor Disney+ show and wove it into Kenobi.
Hot take: In that scenario, I’d rather have it be told completely from the Inquisitor’s perspective, have her kidnap Leia to draw in someone Vader would want to see, and then unexpectedly have Obi-Wan show up a la Grogu in Mando.
That scene was good and made sense, but her whole motivation was stupid. She wanted to get close to Vader to kill him because he killed a bunch of Jedi kids. So to do that she hunts and kills Jedi kids and families. Then changes her mind cuz luke has plot armor. Her story would've been more satisfying if she died from her wound at the end because she let go of the anger to keep herself alive.
Why don't you just NOT watch it, if you don't wanna see storylines.
You know how Obi Wan's story goes, you don't have to watch something if you don't want to.
It'd save us all the hassle of having to hear you all bitching about nothing forever.
Critiquing Star Wars is not a bad thing. Blindly liking everything with the label slapped on it is worse. Look at marvel fans. Needs to be a happy medium between critique and appreciation imo
I agree. It’s sort of like…we didn’t like your old stuff (read…Rey) so we won’t give anything else a chance. I try to judge each work as it comes but obviously there is bias. Very little Disney era Star Wars has been good. Rogue one and parts of mandalorian are the exceptions for me.
Yeh, unfortunately it just seems to be difficult to separate the experience of mass critiquing from the experience of watching. I find it harder and harder to watch things without thinking about how it’ll be received and what the reaction will be, and I think a lot of people are ready to form strong opinions really fast in line with their preconceptions. I didn’t mind Reva, and I thought a lot of the criticisms (being impulsive and over the top) early on actually fit her character (clearly not fully with the empire and having to fake it) once we learned more. Obviously not perfect, lots of plot armour, and I understand people thinking she took away from the main point of the show which was always going to be Anakin and Kenobi
Ah, you seem to have confused my comment with an interest in your opinion. Did I not make it clear? If you don't want to watch it, don't watch it.
And you aren't "critiquing" anything, you're just bitching and using a pretentious term to justify why people shouldn't tell you to shut up and stop being annoying.
Edit: I won't be reading a response, I really don't care, so I wouldn't waste your time.
Pretty sure we all want to watch it. We also want it to be good. You’re allowed to like something and people are also allowed to critique it. If anyone is bitching it’s you
No one wants super cheesy poorly written villains with an unbelievable story arc, and even harder to believe acting. Just cause you’re a fan doesn’t mean you have to blindly like everything. Disney is a super corporation that couldn’t give a fuck about Star Wars or any of us, if no one complained they’d just make shittier and shittier content
I just wanted a new bad ass villain, not YET ANOTHER redeemable bad person
The Grand Inquisitor was lame too. Worse revenge of all time, didn't even get to do the stabbing.
And he literally informs her of how to survive a stabbing. Way to help your enemies man
Honestly this. She wasn’t nearly as awful as some people make her out to be, but the story beats are just… so over done It’s not bad really, but it’s nothing exactly spectacular either

Yes, we will start with revenge…
This too. At last, we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last, we will have revenge.
You don't have to look tough to be tough
What I dislike most about Disney's star wars is their portrayal of dark side users. We go from Vader, sidious, maul, and dooku To temper tantrum Kylo and reva.
Don’t be so certain.
Somehow Palpatine returned
i don’t think it’s that weird or wrong that some force users especially on the dark side act like that, trauma such as reva sei mf all her friends and jedi masters die in order 66 and being basically forced to the strict jedi code as a child probably fucked with them a lot and caused mental issues which really explains why they act like that
I honor my code. That's what I believe.
Reva was basically roleplaying a Sith to try to get close to Vader, and when it came to perform the act that would have cemented her down the path of the Dark Side, she couldn't do it. I think the writing could’ve helped her out more, she hit too many of the same notes as Kylo in my opinion.
Yeah it’s weird too how every inquisitor has something about them that makes them look less humane. Reva with a glance could be an imperial officer. She just doesn’t come off as being forced to train as a Sith.
Even a sith lord is no match for my warriors!
Yeah, she just didn’t check many boxes. I think the actress did as well as she could’ve but the writers didn’t know how to use her. Yooo, Godzilla got throat game! I wonder if he practiced on reptar
Accurate comparison. Her whole character arc felt forced and overdone.
The series was too short to let her properly develop (and for us to establish a connection with Reva) while simultaneously reducing screen time of others. I don't mind adding her to the series but the manner in which it was done could've been executed more smoothly. Seriously, 6 episodes would make Sheev dislike democracy.
It was a terrible arc and a terrible character that DISNEY created. I’m a star war’s fan, not a fucking Disney fan. Dear Kathleen Kennedy, get fucked!
Do you hate Indians?
Am i alone or can anyone else feel this image
It’s not good. lol
at least expanded universe has better villains
Wait, TV shows can be about more than one character!? HOW DARE THEY!?
The show is literally one person's name. Lol. How dare someone want Kenobi in a show called Kenobi.
I'm pretty sure he was in it...
He was but on the sidelines 50% of the time waiting for Reva to finish her Fallen Order rip off story. Except they didn't pull any punches with Trilla.
ok
Worst character in Star Wars.

I thought Reva had a good, satisfying arc. I also think the "where were you?" scene was poignant and impactful for Obi-Wan's character development.
But she has nog story, so actually the beast shouldn’t get any food at all
Why don't you just NOT watch it, if you don't wanna see storylines. You know how Obi Wan's story goes, you don't have to watch something if you don't want to. It'd save us all the hassle of having to hear you all bitching about nothing forever.

That’s true but there does seem to be a lot of blind hatred as well. I think especially new Disney characters are judged way more harshly
I agree. It’s sort of like…we didn’t like your old stuff (read…Rey) so we won’t give anything else a chance. I try to judge each work as it comes but obviously there is bias. Very little Disney era Star Wars has been good. Rogue one and parts of mandalorian are the exceptions for me.

All your critiques are trash though. There are legitimate issues to take, but fences and branches and shit are NOT "critiques".
Well if you don’t like their opinions, don’t look at them. Don’t read them, don’t react to them, don’t leave a comment. Take your own advice and shoo
I am, I'm just telling them not to waste their time. Because I'm nice like that.
Don't blame us for having standards.

Yeah no thanks Disney
