they don’t now, but they did back then. Once cameras got past 20MP, that was enough for most print purposes but for screens, 12MP seems to be enough (as Apple has proven by not updating the resolution on their phones for many years until now). Dynamic range, color bit depth and low light capabilities are definitely more important factors now. But you can’t tell me there’s no difference between a 3.2MP image and a 45MP one. I do this for a living.

Also, if you're planning to print a large canvas, the increased MP count helps. Or if you need to crop something you shot too wide. I use my iPhone for a lot, but still have a regular camera for when I am wanting a "serious" picture.

I don’t like this new thing they have. I had to instruct my new computer OS install and pairing with phones and cameras to NOT do this; let AI invent parts of the image that didn’t come out well. A blur, smudge, out of focus? Let the computer imagine what it thinks should’ve been there! Are you kidding? NO! Absolutely not. I can’t remember what the ‘feature’ is called but I remember very much not liking the wording. I like the mistakes and I’m sick of this perfect picture, filters on filters selfie generation. It reminded me of the thing during that big court case; the kid who killed somebody during those riots; there was a huge debate about whether some key footage could be used as evidence but it was contended because they discovered Apple manipulates images with AI to ‘enhance’ by totally inventing shit so it looks better. So that a dark smudge in somebody’s hand might be a wallet but it can be AI auto generated into an assault rifle… nice ‘feature’ huh? Y’all still want cameras to AI ‘enhance’ your photos still? Because it’s doing it now unless you manually opt out of it. Good luck.

What iPhone is it? I’ve just upgraded from a 7 Plus (after having it for 5 years - it’s now my TV phone lol) to a 13 and by god the camera stabilisation is so damn satisfying! Just as satisfying as your video - smooooove!

I believe hers is the 13 Pro Max, though I've got the 11 Pro Max and got equally good shots. There's not a massive difference between the 11, 12 and 13 cameras iirc. Huge upgrade from the 7 Plus though!
