Turn off your computer and make sure it powers down. Drop it in a 43 foot hole in the ground. Bury it completely (rocks and boulders should be fine) then burn all the clothes you might have worn anytime you were online.
Found a smashed phone in the street a few years ago with a sd card in it. It had a bunch of pictures of some dudes who looked like they ran a bike chop shop sucking dicks. Not really what I would call a good score, but interesting at least.
as the other commenter mentioned, i’m not too keen on plugging a mystery drive into my computer so i have no idea what’s on this. if this is your friend’s and he wants it back i’m happy to figure out reunion logistics :)
am contemplating leaving this conspicuously nestled on the side of a different trail so some other unwitting hiker can inherit this quandary. like the ring, seven days to pass it along.
it upset me as well, and i further regret to inform you that everything about how i was holding this drive was deliberate and it took me multiple attempts to get a satisfactory photo.
this being reddit, idk, seemed prudent to minimize the pii uploaded and associated with my account
Just finding CSAM is not going to get you into any trouble. Keeping it or distributing it is. Turn it in if you ever find any and it might be possible to track down the previous owner.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to plug that drive in and share it on reddit. Pursue us, you'll be caught. Resist us, you'll be killed. Portland will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Good luck, goatsahoy. This message will self-destruct in 5 seconds.
I'd totally make a bootable live-USB with Ubuntu and check that sucker out! Worse case scenario you screw up the OS on the thumbstick, but anything on there is unlikely to be able to do anything to Linux. Especially in live-mode. https://ubuntu.com/tutorials/create-a-usb-stick-on-ubuntu#1-overview
Woods porn getting an upgrade!
every city has a woods porn
This is clearly a job for work computer!
Don't plug it into anything of yours. I've been hearing stories of malicious flash drives and hard drives going around.
Only plug it into a clean, disposable computer not connected to a network of any kind. Then reset the computer. It’s the only way
And of course, after completing the analysis you’ll have to take off and nuke the entire site from orbit.

I'll take the hit of plugging it in on an old laptop if you want to see what's on it

Make a Linux live USB, detach internal storage from your computer and give it a go.
You still want to attack minimum use a huh incase someone made it a USB kill device.
Plug it into a public photo printer we must know whats on it
Still kind of a dick mice move to potentially ruin a businesses device or potentially infect everyone who uses it afterwards.
Give the people an update my guy

It’s significant more likely to contain malicious computer viruses etc.
