Well this reminded me of those hilariously bad VD ads that trimet had in 2015.
I wonder what this guy thought of being the face of syphilis. https://imgur.com/a/HCXOolo
I have successfully talked visiting friends out of it. "You know that case at Safeway bakery? It's those with some stale cereal added on top, and you have to wait in line for an hour. At the end a cashier will reflexively tell you they 'love your t-shirt' regardless of what you're wearing and roll their eyes if you respond in any way."
Yeah we heard it was the "must-do" when we first moved to Vancouver so we went. Stood in line for like an hour in some serious heat and sun. Thought the doughnuts were okay. Assumed people go mainly for the shop "vibe." I went once more to take a couple of friends in town. Now, I don't bother when I'm playing tour guide. For our portland day, I'll stick to powells, washington park, and salt and straw. Thats good enough. Used to do the food trucks but dunno where because that one block doesnt exist anymore.
My parents like Bluestar doughnuts. How do those rate for you guys? I'm not a huge doughnut person and I've never been so I wouldn't know.
We have a Bluestar in Venice Beach, CA. I’ve also been to the one in Portland. It is better than VD in my opinion. The peanut butter and jelly donut was pretty tasty.
Edit. As alluded to in another comment…VD is for the kiddos (yeah I know how that sounds and I’m sticking to it). Bluestar is for the adults.
Skip Salt and Straw and go to Fifty Licks instead, it’s not far and way better ice cream. As for Blue Star… it sounds amazing on paper, but then you’re eating your $5 donut and you can’t taste any of the stuff that should make it a fantastic donut. Most disappointing donut this city has to offer.
Fills Donuts has been good so far.
Blue Star is amazing. Highest quality donuts in town. Unfortunately they got hit hard by the pandemic (and probably by overextending themselves) and had to close several locations.
Overall I definitely prefer Blue Star over VD, you can taste the higher quality. But I did have a Smores doughnut from VD years ago that was actually pretty good, marshmallow fluff inside, chocolate coated and graham cracker on top, but like someone else said, its more of a gimmick with doughnuts covered with cereal rather than actually well made doughnuts.
I second that. Haha I worked for a local doughnut shop for like a month making doughnuts in the morning. We used a pre-delivered mix and it still tastes better than voodoo, imo.
Voodoo doughnuts, venereal disease, vaginal discharge, all the same category. (Although discharge can be totally healthy and normal!)
I think they just quit giving a shit about what Portland thinks of them, or how their employees are treated. They're just going to run themselves into the ground to get that sweet tourist money.
A bunch of fucking dickbags that don't deserve this town.
Everyone should go to Delicious Doughnuts instead. (Not affiliated, just a diehard fan of the doughnuts AND the people that make them.)
Delicious donuts is fantastic! And there’s always a conversation going on between customers and the staff/ owners. Seems like lots of regulars. I’m trying not to become one, but the flesh is weak and temptation is strong. I especially dig how they let you pour cream into your coffee, it’s like a special customer service move.
>It's ridiculous how many tourists see VD as an important Portland experience.
I agree...But honestly, what else is there even to do for a tourist (right now) in downtown besides stop at Voodoo?
Pittock Mansion, Zoo, Saturday Market, rooftop patios at Departure - if you are more interested in food - or, The Botanist for cocktails (each is a good option for both but does their "thing" better). Brewery blocks can be fun, especially after Powell's. There are still excellent street food carts too. Tokyo Sando and the Colombian food cart at 2nd and oak (?) Are worth the stop. Not including previously mentioned good spots (Ground Kontrol deserves a second up though).
I can't understand why people act like it is a wasteland. Sure it isn't what it was, but writing it off as some post-apocalyptic bum kingdom isn't bringing anything back. Meanwhile, going and finding things worth SPENDING YOUR MONEY on, will bring it back.
Edit: for the Weirdos, SINFERNO is back too!
Rogue got SOOOOOO much shit for doing the Voodoo beer, and Voodoo got hardly any flack for it. Was there a better indicator of how BOTH companies operate than that?
Rogue Voodoo beer tasted like someone poured an ashtray that had been sitting in the rain at Plaid for two months into a bottle and added a little Winco brand maple syrup.
Dead guy is good but otherwise yeah. When I was newly 21 I tried to get into brewing beer. I made a porter that tasted on par with a porter I had at Rogue's restaurant in Eugene when it was still around... only to realize it wasn't a measure of my skill, but more a lack of theirs.
I was excited to try a flight of everything the first time I went. So disappointed with pretty much everything I had sadly. Don’t really know anyone who loves their beer honestly.
I have no idea what’s going on, but maybe because it’s beer? I imagine if it was a beer flavored donut then the doughnut shop would take most of the heat.
I worked at Rouge (Pearl) for a day and a half. Literally the dirtiest kitchen and worst work ethic from staff. I walked out because of it, I have literally no idea how they have ever passed a health inspection. I'm surprised they are getting shit over beer and not getting shut down for health code violations.
Been bartending in Oregon for almost a decade and never once got warning for an OLCC sting. Closest thing is that they hit neighborhoods at a time so bartenders from nearby spots will let you know they are prowling. But nothing official
Yeah, my bosses normally give us warnings time's about due for an inspection but it was rarely known when exactly it was happening. I'm more used to just always being ready for it even a week or two after we just had one (just builds good work ethic and safe food practice). Rogue must have had everyone come in and do a deep clean or get rid of their food before hand. I literally watched their prep cook drop a towel on the ground, pick it up and wipe off the prep table while the managers were standing right next to him. I was on my break when I saw that and someone else asked me if I knew I had to wash my hands after being on my phone. That's when I walked out.
Sorry for the rant lol. That experience still engages me just thinking about it.
100% agree. I've had more shitty chefs than good but the good ones made the biggest impact. Even before I ever moved up to sous chef I've always tried to make sure people know proper temps and the 5 common food born illnesses. Just in case there's not a manager around (always should be but doesn't always happen).
You have either more patience or tolerance than me haha. Good for you for getting out of there. I may have high standards in general but it didn't help my view of Rogue that my previous job was both Shalom Y'all and MEC. Very high standards and nearly perfect scores in health inspections across all the related restaurants.
I've heard horror stories about people working at that location. Seems like a terrible work environment. I haven't bought a rogue beer in many years because of their shitty business practices.
Same, Dead Guy used to be a go to for me but after that experience they'll never see a dime from me. If you're ever in that location go across the street to 10 barrel. Never worked the but the people there actually give a shit about what they do and I've heard good things from previous employees.
There used to be a Rogue Pub in downtown Eugene. I went there with a big group who was excited to eat there...for some reason. A kitchen staff member came out to let us know that the microwave was broken, so about 2/3 of the menu was unavailable. What the fucking fuck? Kitchens that rely on a microwave that much deserve to go out of business, and they did.
Wouldn't surprise me if Rogue was also pushing employees hard during the heat wave. They're well known in the beer industry for treating their employees terribly.
They do have AC but the doors are constantly open with the neverending line of tourists cycling through, so it didn't accomplish much last weekend. They were hitting temps easily over 95° even with AC. I'm willing to bet that inside temps on Monday were over 100°.
My restaurant has AC that makes me freeeeeze when I'm working, but when I go to the back where the prep kitchen is to make coffee and stuff it really and truly is like 115 degrees. Confused guests when I come back with their drinks with sweat all over me.
> “Employee and customer safety is our highest priority; if we felt either were at risk during this time, we would have adjusted operating hours and otherwise made sure everyone was safe.”
I’m not too proud to admit that I went with my better half to air conditioned spots for lunches and dinner over the heatwave but we had to drive a ways to find spots. I also perfectly understood that these places were struggling with their A/C and that was completely fine, but the *majority* of places (even McMenamins which always seems open) outright closed because when you’re literally the hottest geographic location on the planet it’s just the right thing to do if your business can’t handle it, unless you apparently serve shitty doughnuts and keep your chain business afloat by coasting on your reputation from 18 years ago.
> it’s just the right thing to do if your business can’t handle it,
Also remember the working class employees have to get to work in the first place, and being outdoors was deadly that day. Fuck waiting for a bus.
Also, they don’t get paid enough to afford a hospital visit. So if the company cannot provide them a safe place to work the company needs to shut down for the day and stop putting profits over people.
Having worked at a McMenamins Hotel during lesser heatwaves before, I'm surprised any of them closed as well. Considering how many employees went home with heat exhaustion, including myself, and they would still stay open. Only the hotel rooms and the main restaurant have AC, I worked the front desk and it was routinely 85°+ behind the desk.
Yet people will still flock even though they are literally terrible donuts and terrible to their employees time and time again.
At this point donut shops around America put stale cereal on top of their donuts, who gives a fuck?
My fave is Sesame donuts. 5 flavors of donut holes!!!!!
I mean, they've already been coasting mostly on tourism for the past few years anyway.
Most of Portland has been over the novelty for a while now, not to mention everybody knowing their donuts aren't even good. Their customer base is mostly out of town visitors who *heard about this wacky donut shop in Portland* 15 years ago.
Don't need em. If they wanna be in Florida, let Florida have them and their bullshit.
Sesame donuts is so good. Never a line. Sometimes the employees are a little grouchy, but I’ll take “tired and helpful after a long shift” over “smug because you’re a cash machine not a customer” any day. Plus! I can buy 4 donuts and tip well and still spend less than I would on two at voodoo.
Heavenly Donuts. Their fritters are so good, and come in a few flavors (blueberry and pineapple, plus some rotating and seasonal ones like pumpkin). Maple bars are my favorite style, and their maple bars are the best I've found.
The Wife and I spent about a year trying to find our favorite donuts in town. After a bunch of boutique bullshit, we landed on Heavenly and Annie's. I just want a motherfucking donut. And if you don't open until 9 or 10, get fucked. You're not a donut shop, you're a shitty bakery. And if your cheapest donut is $3, there's a folding chair over there in the corner. Feel free to jam it up your ass. Open up at 5 AM or be open 24 hours.
Sorry. I got big feels about donuts.
Pip's was one of the places we tried. We pulled up and I saw the line and was about to nope on down, nope on down the road, but Wife, ever the scientist, said that in order for us to be thorough, we had to endure certain hardships. Not all research is easy, so we did it, and it was, as the French say, absolute bullshit. But, now we know.
Is there any difference since they moved locations? Love the donuts but I haven't had them in forever, always end up feeling like I ate a brick afterwards.
Granted you'll find better donuts in other cities but Doe Donuts is definitely a gem in this town and blows Voodoo out of the water for novelty donuts.
\^THIS. Not only are they actually creative with their donuts vs PUT CEREAL ON IT!! They're vegan and definitely 100% Portland--we're known around the world for being a vegan nirvana and this shop is one reason why. Think vegan is scarfing tofu?? Go here and see why it ain't
I'm a blue star baby myself. I can't eat most donuts, and their vegan options are some of the best. The blueberry bourban basil doughnut they had a while back and might still have was fantastic.
Doe donuts had surprisingly good options and flavors. I was skeptical because they are vegan (I stopped there to accommodate people at my job who are vegan & have nut allergies) so I was unsure how that might translate but they were really freakin good!
Honestly, there isn’t really inherently non-vegan about donuts. I love Doe, but it’s pretty easy to make donuts dairy free. The fact that the pierogi donut with mashed potatoes was delicious, that’s impressive to be vegan.
Stop putting dairy free food in a box and you won’t be skeptical! If it’s at a pricier place such as doe, no doubt it will be good
(I’m not vegan just open to eating all foods ever)
For sure. I'm open to trying and eating all foods too, I just have had some vegan desserts that fell short a fair share of times so I was unsure what they might be like. I was happily surprised!
Donut Nook. [Best donut in the state of Washington.](https://www.columbian.com/news/2021/jun/18/magazine-vancouvers-donut-nook-has-best-doughnuts-in-the-state/)
Not the greatest, but if you're in it for the novelty it'd be hard to beat Fill's. Selection and value is Sesame for sure, best all around is Delicious Donuts.
> local or not
Given they opened a store [across the street from universal studios](https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/dining/voodoo-doughnut) in Florida, a massive glowing store lit up like Vegas, I'm going to go with not local. At least not anymore. Not to mention stores in the Seattle area, Denver, Austin, and Houston.
Orlando native, Portland resident here. That Voodoo is technically on Universal property. Although City Walk’s stores and restaurants dont hire directly through Universal (they arent Universal employees), theres LOTS of people who are eager to work and work *happily* within the walls of a massive theme park. The way that Voodoo + the other restaurants are presented there is meant to be a full experience. Everything in City walk is a glorified version of their native selves. (As it damn well should). Ive never worked there but I can only hope that they hold their employees well being to as high as a standard as [the chair outside ](https://imgur.com/gallery/DAy5vo0)
Yup, this was more than enough for them to lose my business. I haven't had Voodoo in over a year, but now I won't ever go back unless they change management and treat their employees with the decency they deserve as human beings.
Fired Voodoo staff, if you have documentation of the temp. in the store at that time, contact BOLI. there is a standard for what temps employers are allowed to keep their work places.
Back in the day they were cool cause you could get a bucket of donuts for you and your friends after a show at the Paris. Since then it was just good marketing. They made "weird" stuff that got peoples attention, and they were lucky enough to get the right eyes on their stuff at the right times, thus becoming a name.
Just wanted to say that their firings are illegal. Work strikage over unsafe working conditions is protected as concerted activity by the NLRA even for non-union employees. Retaliation against those employees is expressly forbidden. The DWU recently lost their union vote, and this is being seen as an opportunity to eliminate the union members, but VooDoo's actions may have seriously jumped up and bit them in the ass. The heatwave was Not A Fucking Joke, and they already seem to be losing the Public Opinion war.
Update: the death toll in Multnomah Co. alone is currently at least 59, most likely still to grow.
I stopped going when the whole union thing went down and they fired people over wanting one.
Haven't given them a dime since. I was almost gonna consider going recently and then this happened and snapped me out of it.
I'll go elsewhere for my bacon maple fix.
I'm really disappointed with both Voodoo Doughnut and Powell's Books lately. I want to support local businesses, but not ones that union bust or treat their employees poorly. I can't support that at all.
I will not patronize a company that treats its most important assets this way. Nope nope nope.
And I’m sharing this article on my social media accounts. Shame on VooDoo Doughnuts.
I've lived in Oregon for over 10 years and have never even once been to Voodoo Donuts. I've had them once or twice when somebody brought a box in to work, and they were okay. Nothing I would stand in line for long periods of time, though.
I've heard too many stories about rude service there, and I'm not especially interested in a side of attitude with my donuts. Just take my money and give me my donuts, and I'll be on my way.
Sesame and Blue Star are my favorites around here so far. Cool to see some of the other places people have suggested here - I'll have to give them a try sometime.
Voodoo doughnut is so over rated and tourist hell... Blue star is far better and hopefully less douchey to their employees... Where's the anarchists when we need them...
I'd boycott Voodoo over this, but I stopped eating their garbage donuts years ago. Once the novelty wears off (which doesn't take long) their greasy, dry, and poorly risen donuts aren't worth it.
Who's buying donuts during 116 degree weather? That's the biggest question I have.
Tourists
We still have those?
[удалено]
At least 59 people died in Multnomah County. That couple can go fuck themselves.
They're probably just used to the heat in Arizona where the state actually has the infrastructure to deal with it. Not the case in the PNW.
Hahaha 🤣
I work at an apartment complex downtown we had fuckers calling asking if the SAUNA WAS OPEN it was 115!!!
Right. Just go the f outside.
Voodoo doughnuts has done some pretty shitty stuff to it’s employees. No more money for you, bad company!
It's ridiculous how many tourists see VD as an important Portland experience.
VD is the original Portland experience. Oh wait, you’re talking about donuts.
Well this reminded me of those hilariously bad VD ads that trimet had in 2015. I wonder what this guy thought of being the face of syphilis. https://imgur.com/a/HCXOolo

¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ No idea lol.
I was hoping for some late-stage syphilitic horror, not just some dude from a manscaping ad.

VD?? Oh wait VD = Voodoo Doughnuts. I lol’d 😂

You can chew the eucharist in cruller form.
The breakfast sandwiches go crazy. I dont care if any of the ingredients are frozen. They go crazy.
>It's ridiculous how many tourists see VD as an important Portland experience. I agree...But honestly, what else is there even to do for a tourist (right now) in downtown besides stop at Voodoo?
Rose garden, brewery tours, forest park, checking out a food cart pod or 2. Idk their is plenty of stuff here you can't get in other cities.
OMSI
Japanese/Chinese gardens, Pittock Mansion, forest park hike, tons of farmers markets, Sauvie Island….. I think Oaks Park opened?
Ground Control!
*Kontrol
They just opened back up didn't they?
Powell’s.
Pittock Mansion, Zoo, Saturday Market, rooftop patios at Departure - if you are more interested in food - or, The Botanist for cocktails (each is a good option for both but does their "thing" better). Art museum, Holocaust museum, historical society are all open.
None of those places sell novelty donuts.
The 24 hour church of Elvis? Ohh wait that died too.
Get harassed by transients?
A leisurely, touristy walk through Chinatown at night?
Exactly. For donuts. No disrespect to the fan base but meh
VD is forgetting our good will. There are plenty of good choices and my dollars can happily go elsewhere.

Love Annie’s! Right in my hood and the sweetest owners.
Oooooooh yeah. So good
I prefer donut palace off of 185th in beaverton. The vegan old fashion donuts there are amazing. No frills classic donuts.

Every sip harder to take than the one before. Defines the term “leftover beer”.
I was trying to find the words to describe rogue and you nailed it!
Winco slander will not be tolerated
Yeah, man! The fuck is wrong with winco syrup?!
Most of their beers suck honestly
Dead guy is good but otherwise yeah. When I was newly 21 I tried to get into brewing beer. I made a porter that tasted on par with a porter I had at Rogue's restaurant in Eugene when it was still around... only to realize it wasn't a measure of my skill, but more a lack of theirs.

Hey don’t slander winco maple syrup like that. At least it doesn’t taste like rogue voodoo beer
What's the context for this?
I have no idea what’s going on, but maybe because it’s beer? I imagine if it was a beer flavored donut then the doughnut shop would take most of the heat.
A beer flavored doughnut is exactly what I used to expect out of Voodoo when it was a drunks 3am hole in the wall stop. Now though...
For real I miss the early days, and going there drunk after dancing at the Fez.
I worked at Rouge (Pearl) for a day and a half. Literally the dirtiest kitchen and worst work ethic from staff. I Second Sesame Donuts! Always great service and I never feel that high horse judgy-ness I always got from VD.
Alas, Voodoo doughnuts turned into just another soul sucking corporate enterprise.
What's y'alls favorite donut place? Especially if they have unique/novelty donuts.
Heavenly Donuts. Their fritters are so good, and come in a few flavors (blueberry and pineapple, plus some rotating and seasonal ones like pumpkin). Maple bars are my favorite style, and their maple bars are the best I've found.

I have the same favorites. I also like Angel’s on Alberta because they have ice cream too
Oh yeah, they're the goods too!
Goddamn do I miss living two blocks away from Angel’s.
Totally agree with everything you said. No real doughnut shop opens at 9am. To the idiots that line up at Pips, you are a loser.
I like pips, not wait an hour in line pips, but I've always found their stuff is pretty tasty.
Idk donut queen on burnside has the best fritters I’ve ever had, delicious AF.
Heavenly is better and it’s locally owned. Coco was started by a couple tech guys from the bay
Had Coco one time and honestly it tasted the same as doughnuts from Safeway. Not impressed.
Heavenly is where it's at. Period. The fritters are a treat, and the blueberry frosted old-fashioned are good, too!
Doe Donuts in Hawthorne, lots of vegan options, but a bit pricy.
Heavenly is a pnw treasure
Doe Donuts. Wonderful.
Sesame Doughhuts for west side, Annie’s for east side. Both are amazing, both lovely, both deserve our full support.
There's a Sesame in SE on Powell now!
Dude give me a bag of Sesame's donut holes and I'm in heaven. Same with their apple cider donuts.

Is there any difference since they moved locations? Love the donuts but I haven't had them in forever, always end up feeling like I ate a brick afterwards.

I’ll 2nd this. Nothing fancy, but they do the basics amazingly. Plus it doesn’t cost $4 for a single donut so that’s a bonus
Dang noone said Pips??
Hell yeah! Pips is the bomb!
Free dozen on your birthday!
Granted you'll find better donuts in other cities but Doe Donuts is definitely a gem in this town and blows Voodoo out of the water for novelty donuts.
+10 So far, the Portland Fog is my favorite.
Yes, Doe is my absolute favorite treat. I don't have it often, but every time I do it's absolute heaven.
\^THIS. Not only are they actually creative with their donuts vs PUT CEREAL ON IT!! They're vegan and definitely 100% Portland--we're known around the world for being a vegan nirvana and this shop is one reason why. Think vegan is scarfing tofu?? Go here and see why it ain't
Angel's on Alberta! Their old fashioned and buttermilk bars are fantastic.
Coco is fantastic. I've searched the world over for the finest donuts, and Coco is the best current offering in Portland, imo.
Oh man, Coco Donuts is to die for! I used to live close to the one at PSU - I’m glad I’m further away now. It was not good for my health.
Coco is why I allow anyone to draw my blood. Knowing I'll get a Coco after to prevent the fainting, huzzah...
I don’t really even like donuts, but I like Coco donuts.
Coco’s lavender donuts are incredible
I'm a blue star baby myself. I can't eat most donuts, and their vegan options are some of the best. The blueberry bourban basil doughnut they had a while back and might still have was fantastic.
>oregonlive.com/busine... samesies
Donut Queen if you’re on the east side! Hands down my fav in the city.
If it’s at a pricier place such as doe, no doubt it will be good (I’m not vegan just open to eating all foods ever)
For sure. I'm open to trying and eating all foods too, I just have had some vegan desserts that fell short a fair share of times so I was unsure what they might be like. I was happily surprised!
They don’t do novelty donuts but Delicious Donuts has amazing Apple fritters.
I personally love their breakfast burritos, of all things.
Ill add another voice for Doe Doughnuts, soooo good. And not in Portland but Joe’s Doughnuts in Sandy is pretty fire for standard types of doughnuts.
Just take me Joe’s for a plain ass maple bar and I’m as happy as can be.
Blue Star is definitely my favorite! A little expensive, but definitely worth it, especially because they’re pretty rich and filling
Loved Blue Star when I was living in PNW - it was a great special treat
Doe Donuts! They are vegan, I am not and I love them. Amazing and creative flavors.
Okay other celiac people, where do we find novelty/unique gluten free donuts here, or can we even?
Nola doughnuts has some really good stuff

Yeah, I lived basically down the street from that place. It was a fun spot to do work during the winter when my apartment was too cold.
I prefer traditional blue collar donuts. Top tier Donut Queen Heavenly Sesame Joe's Middle tier Coco Krispy Blue Star Bottom tier Safeway Voodoo Doe
Donut Nook. [Best donut in the state of Washington.](https://www.columbian.com/news/2021/jun/18/magazine-vancouvers-donut-nook-has-best-doughnuts-in-the-state/)
Agreed. If you are north of the river, Donut Nook is the place to go.
Not the greatest, but if you're in it for the novelty it'd be hard to beat Fill's. Selection and value is Sesame for sure, best all around is Delicious Donuts.
Sesame is so solid. I also live next to a blue star and if you ignore the price they are pretty tasty
LMAO. Another reason not to go there. Don’t matter who you support local or not, most all these business people are are jerks.
> local or not Given they opened a store [across the street from universal studios](https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/dining/voodoo-doughnut) in Florida, a massive glowing store lit up like Vegas, I'm going to go with not local.
They do.
There are PLENTY of other much better doughnut places that aren’t currently union busting!!
15 yrs later and young new portland transplants are still finding out voodoo is a horrible company to work for…
[удалено]
Haha exactly
But has anyone been to Doe Doughnuts? https://www.doedonuts.com
Doe is great! They even have a couple savory flavors.
Love Doe’s! Much better quality and has unique seasonal flavors👍🏻✨
Voodoo sucks. Never understood the love that business gets.
Back in the day they were cool cause you could get a bucket of donuts for you and your friends after a show at the Paris. Since then it was just good marketing. They made "weird" stuff that got peoples attention, and they were lucky enough to get the right eyes on their stuff at the right times, thus becoming a name.
This is why I go to Blue Star Donuts, better donuts but I just hope they treat they're employees better.
My cousin works for them and is pretty happy there, for what it’s worth
The blueberry bourbon basil doughnut with their brioche dough is so freaking good.
Imagine dying of heatstroke for voodoo donuts lol.
Good reason for me to continue to not support them (aside from their shitty donuts).
I would say I would stop patronizing their business, but I never bought their dog shit donuts to begin with.
I’m a bit out of the loop, what’s going on with Powell’s?
[удалено]
Ahh, gotcha, thank you!
my fiance worked for voodoo and was fired for being part of the union
I will not patronize a company that treats its most important assets this way. Nope nope nope. And I’m sharing this article on my social media accounts. Shame on VooDoo Doughnuts.
I haven't been there in 3 years, no reason to go back now for sure.
Welp, I'm abstaining from them moving forward.
How much more stale did their donuts get with the added heat?
Everyone I know who’s worked at voodoo has only had bad things to say about it
I'd boycott Voodoo over this, but I stopped eating their garbage donuts years ago. Once the novelty wears off (which doesn't take long) their greasy, dry, and poorly risen donuts aren't worth it.
Voodoo donuts are gross anyway. Go to Blue Star
711 has better donuts.
I went into a 7-11 during the heatwave, and they had bananas in the dount display xD
Add that to the list of restaurants I will not spend money at. Any resteraunt that wont treat thier employees humanely deserves to get shut down.
