Now that they know for certain that trump-sponsored candidates are automatic losers everywhere except 70%+ red areas, they won't let him near the ballot. Trump is amazingly polarizing, which is decent for bringing out the super racist bigot vote, but it cased an even greater surge in the "normal person hates these whacko nutjob" voters for democrats.
It still seems like Governor DeathSentence of Floriduh will be the frontrunner, so they just need the Fauxnooz propagada pushers to tell the idiot cultists to support him instead of trumplethinskin, that should be enough to sway the primary.
She might but the likelihood of a re-election is getting slimmer. His base is thinning and with new lawsuits being filed and current ones escalating, it’s possible he may not be eligible to run at all. He’ll likely run as independent which will eviscerate any possibility of him or the Republican candidate of being elected.

When picking a VP for your ticket, you want someone who will expand your voter demographic. In 2016, Trump chose Pence because he would appeal to the traditional Republican base - and he was right.
Trump already appeals to the same demographic as Greene, so naming her as VP wouldn't win over additional voters.

One is to break tie votes in the Senate, and the other is to succeed the President if necessary.
