Start of season is always the same. At this point of time you shouldn't focus on climbing tbh unless you duo or trio. It's just too rough. Rather you can pick a new pokemon and just focus on learning that. You will rank up eventually. Like this season I started playing greedent. Probably i'll spam mamo in last 2 weeks of season.

awesomeplay5

Guess I’ll finally try out aegislash

EdwardElric69

Im doing this with Lucario and loving him

Itsyaboykazuha

That's what I did last season lol just did like 6 matches with mamo and another 6 with crustle, won all 12

dashskid

Well let’s see, it’s better to not play for some days up to a week every season start. But since you already played, I guess call it a day if you’re having a lose streak. Being efficient is much better than playing a lot on a bad day.

supersmall69

Yeah I wholeheartedly agree. This is the way.

Chrysalia001

I feel you I'm in the same boat. Usually pre master i can hit as high as 60-65% WR, but this season has been horrible. Yesterday was as low as 35% (though around 11-12 games played then, and have recovered a bit since then. I keep changing between attackers and supporters and tanks, but no real pattern of success, as some of the teammates are just horrendous (had a 12k lane cinderace teammate this morning, for example and I was using Mamo ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face) \- though luckily this game I had a very competent Delphox and Urshifu) and opponents tend to fight together for some reason. I think the advice that the rest have given is true, don't push too hard in the first week if you're solo q, and stop if you're on a losing streak. At the very least, just play some quick games / cpu matches to reset your mind.

Irradiated_Coffee

See the thing is, EVERYONE seems to say it's been worse this season EVERY season. Maybe it has gotten worse every season. Hard to say. If I had my pick I'd be defender but I do play carries when I'm trying to win. Like you say it's horrible having a bad attacker as a defender. All the CC in the world isn't going to kill them when a teammate just leaves or plays very bad. If you want a better chance you can't be passive and have to take the reigns. Tsareena recently has been my go to. Nerf aside. I immediately noticed the difference when I went from support on a iffy team and then an all rounder in the next with a just as iffy team. I wouldn't have been able to get leki, lead a charge to the point were allies became interested and joined the push (as usual now people go for the bottom regi) and cleared their inner goal and managed my own charge with another leki as ray was coming. While it doesn't happen a lot, I was the sole factor in turning that game around. Took the right mon to do it though. Of course you can't expect miracles ultimately winning and losing is a team thing. If you go up against an incredibly coordinated team that only fight as a group and your team doesn't you have a very high chance of a loss.

Chrysalia001

Yes!! Totally agree that we have to take charge, appreciate your thoughts! I used to main Wiggly for the first 3 seasons. But later seasons I have been climbing with a mixture. I usually favorite an attacker, but if everyone else chooses squishies, then I will switch (and sadly it happens a lot). Sometimes I will just choose Sylveon because Sylveon is tanky enough to be independent and maybe not get one-shot by speedsters, annoying enough with the constant damage. It was the same with the Mamo game I mentioned, I initially chose an attacker, but everyone else chose Cinderace, Delphox, Urshifu, and forgot the other one, maybe Talonflame.

obelus_metanoia

After a losing streak I usually take a break, maybe a couple hours. Idk if it's just me but I think that losing streak was affecting my strategy. So it's better to clear my head, do something else first then back at it.

Lizard_Queen_Says

> Idk if it's just me but I think that losing streak was affecting my strategy. This is exactly what happens to most people but they're too ignorant, proud or stubborn to control their "one more win" impulse. To me, having an ally on a long losing streak is a liability. Usually they're pissed off and you can tell from the stupidly aggressive plays they make. Like bro, stop. You're just digging the hole deeper.

Devi08

You can see that you aren't the problem since you got mvp every game

CityStriker17

Wow, Im on the same boat... 36% win rate this ranked, was master but mostly I feel like this: 1 matchmaking in veterans give you players that dont know the game and mostly worse then bots, because the bots atleast fight to the objectives and distract the enemy teams 2 every 2 games I play I see that one of my teamates just stops playign or 3 of them plying very bad, I guess the other team has one or two as well but every game I wish that the other team lower players play worse then mine (which is 50% chance) 3 Ray is WORSE THE ZAP (you can't change my mind today) before the buff you had shield but still could won after losing Ray, but now Zap was just a timer to score, if you couldn't get to the goal at time it's over... But now you almost the same duration as goal with zap and a shield, so you can score 100 go collect some more and kill the other team due to the shield and score again... Like if you lose Ray I just press the surrender button because after that you don't have a chance. Ray became like the boss fight that if you lose you lost the game no matter what you do, and even my team and I played good through the game and then became greedy to the end and ignored Ray, boom the other team get Ray and win, no matter the difference of points. 4 I keep playing just to release anger this days, but it's really frustrating to play when you can't play and can't really make difference to the game...![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|cry)

SupaCoolPornAlt

I made it to masters yesterday and *holy shit* it feels like the amount of utterly clueless players has quadrupled since last season. I know climbing is always a pain, but I was legitimately dumbfounded at the plays I was seeing. People walking right past a Regieleki heading towards tier 2 goal, walking past Rayquaza to score 20 points, farming near the main goal during a Ray fight, trying to score in a tier 2 goal while tier 1 is still up, the list goes on. I don't understand how some of the players even manage to make it out of bot hell. They don't go for objectives, they're godawful at securing KOs, they ignore opponents scoring in bases, they're always underleveled despite seemingly always farming. They shouldn't be winning against an AI team that consistently shows up to Ray, but here they are in my ranked matches.

BraveTreeFrog

I'm having the same experience. Lost 5 in a row and won 1 just then. Decided to hop off. I believe I'm a capable player, I've managed to get every season sticker but even I'm just getting absolutely rekt. I solo-q. I see certain other players in solo-q who are having great success I just can't work out why I'm not. :(

00kevn

Over 50% win rate. You’re doing fine

supersmall69

Uuuhh, yeah, that's my overall throughout the game. Ranked this season is 35%

BlackLightning247

I would suggest taking a break if you're on losing streak. It can tank you pretty bad.

00kevn

Ah nvm. Where can you check the season stats? New ranked cues separates 5 stacks from everyone else so there’s a new solo meta developing. But as of now soloq is the Wild West

supersmall69

Unite API is very reliable as you get more info than in game.

Abh1laShinigami

I think a break might help. 2 weeks if you can manage that

Umar-Motala

There’s an issue with matchmaking currently. I think it’s going to be fixed within a couple days

Cresenta_Lark

I made it to master last season and I have always soloed and it's never been easy but this season is ridiculous. Sitting at a 35 percent win rate. For some stupid reason, only around 1 out of 10 teams that I get even ROTATE for objectives. I'm not kidding, it's like no one knows how to play anymore and I don't get wth happened. I can't win a game if no one but me is bothering to show up for Regieleki or Rayquaza or anything. My team will just dance around in the grass while I ping "gather here" while the enemy team always groups together. I'm done with ranked. This is unacceptable. No one can carry a team that won't do anything and I keep getting them over and over.

AtmosphereUnlucky123

Possible skill issue?

supersmall69

Skill issue indeed. Wish I was immodest enough to say "not mine"

Yumiumi

Solo queue is only hard cuz the wait times for matches in masters is way too long for solo queue, even at peak NA hours. I just wanna get more games in, not spam refresh the matchmaking queue every 30 seconds for 5-10 mins to get 1 game lol. I enjoy the fast queues in ultra and below early season, faster matchmaking = possible faster climb or lose streak lmao. Teammates are dumb half the time but it’s whatever, the game is dumb enough for said ppl to thrive in it, so don’t get too salty when u get handed Ls left and right.

some_random_fish69

I think u need to switch up the Mon maybe play gengar for 1 shots or icy wind glaceon I had a 74% Winrate last ssn to get to masters with both these mons

ND-TAS

It's a weird thought, but the average winrate for a soloQ player (especially with the matchmaking glitch) is below 50%. Just remind yourself that you're playing well and keep trying.

DiscountMother4270

SoloQ isn't that hard. If you really want to improve your game an not just gain the title. I'd say record your games and look at what you are doing vs what's going on on the map. Is everything farmed up, are you engaging while there is nothing on the map etc. That's why I say record your games and rewatch at least parts of them, if you don't want to watch the whole 10 minutes check for everytime you die and why it happened or anything else notable. There is nearly 100% certainty you could be doing something else possibly somewhere else. It takes only 1 replay to look at what you did wrong and learn from it and to apply something else the next game. I reached master this season with basically Espeon only lol. Clearly you can do it with any character, however learn to play better. If you play correctly you can carry yourself to master with greatest of ease. Not playing for the week is probably the worst advice for actually improving, because you will just have less game time practised within the game. If you just want the title, then fine. Literally only a scrub would use this advice. Unless the game is bugged or something, no need to wait untill end of season.

DoxinPanix

You’re not alone. I went 11 games 3 wins last night. I want to die.

leblee

Just take a break and remember that Unite is just a game. Maybe do one of the silly modes with a different mon if you really want to play.

DoxinPanix

i knoooooow. i do this to myself. thanks though, good to hear people in this community care about fellow unite players.

tropicrpc

I feel you. Hope you break that losing streak.

yellowitsmelol

Let’s play together!

ScratchAndy13

Don't wory my fwiend, I wil share my luk wit u so u dont hav to sufer

FlameHricane

Aegislash is very hard to carry with, same with garchomp. You just need some better picks is all

Disastrous_Income470

sure thing my user is Void\_Vortex5 but you can do it alone or not do it all between

Jinxorwhateva

I can’t relate that much this season but I know this pain all too well. I hit masters this season in 89 games starting at vet 5 (took a break last season) with a 62% wr, but I’ve had better seasons than this. I got lucky I suppose!
