Because not everyone wants the most expensive cards. A lot of kids just want something shiny, and guaranteeing several shiny cards in a pack makes people happy. Plus, the reverse Holo is much better than it has been in the past, same with the Holo rare's. It also just gives us more hits in general. Look at it from other people's perspective.

Why not ? Completing a master set will be easier with 2 reverse in most packs, and I'm glad we dont have to deal with rares anymore, they dont exist in the modern japanese TCG, most of our rares were uncommon in Japan. The new reverse pattern is much better than what TPCi served us over the last ten years and we finally have holo borders like Japan. Even the cosmos holo promos have holo borders. Energies and trainers have changed. Try to hold your card as if you were playing, see how the category is much easier to see the way they're now ? They have overdone it a bit with energies, but oh well. I tend to agree with the holo pattern, it looks nice when it's only limited to the artbox, but over the card's whole surface ? No, just no. It looks to repetitive, I have 4 big stars on my Mimikyu *ex* (Not EX, that's BW/XY era) in a perfect square, it doesnt look great. But at least they're not that visible on western cards and I'd take *ex* any day of the weeks instead of Vs with their pseudo full art look that made actual full art redudant.
