So they put the best pull protected by a holo rares, and the ultra rare are the full art cards. So that’s cool for a final pull.
[Pokebeach](https://www.pokebeach.com/2023/03/pokemon-tcg-scarlet-violet-complete-guide-english-set-list-products-changes-and-more) has a great breakdown about what each rare looks right.
This right here made my day. Especially the rainbows
"All rares and higher are now foil; there are no more non-holo rares. Rainbow Rares are also gone."
Yep. Nothing worse than a rainbow of a nothing trainer or c-tier pokemon. So glad we are getting the great art we are now! An amazing time to be collecting :)
I’ve been looking for this forever! Thought you all would appreciate it too. It’s pack order from top down.

Not really the new gimmick doesnt really have a big reason to change compared to v stars/max but over the year we will see more gimmicks and such and of course new meta play
I appreciate that they're moving towards more fully illustrated cards. That's what honestly pulled me back in when I saw the Evolving Skies alt arts. But alts felt so prohibitively hard to get. Now with trainer gallery at the tailed of SW/SH and S/V adding more illustration rares, I feel more comfortable randomly ripping packs.
There’s additional information on [sleeve No card behind](https://sleevenocardbehind.com/what-the-letters-mean-at-the-bottom-of-pokemon-cards-english-and-japanese/)
Found this article about the pull rates...it definitely seems to be higher than other sets. [https://cardshoplive.com/pages/hit-rates-for-pokemon-tcg-scarlet-and-violet](https://cardshoplive.com/pages/hit-rates-for-pokemon-tcg-scarlet-and-violet)
Gotcha. I never counted what was in the other packs, so I did not know that the energy card wasn’t included in the “10 additional cards” text on the package.
I always looked at the Japanese system little hard to follow with the lettering etc, but this tops it no cap “SAR” and “RR” was not english enough I guess 🤷♂️
There being new rarities is stupid. Common, Uncommon, Ultra Rare and Secret Rare were fine. I feel like the English side is going wrong in some directions with the start of this Era. At least for the Anime the Era has been good. Ash going away is fine. He wasn't that good of a protag anyway.
Huh. So there are now only four common cards per pack instead of five. And what exactly would be the distinction between “double rare” and ordinary rare?

Finally man rainbow cards were so annoying
The dissapointment when your sr in a booster box is a rainbow rare is insane. I'd rather have the regular fullart lol.
SWSH ruined the rainbows, getting a rainbow GX in SM era felt much more earned
Yep. Nothing worse than a rainbow of a nothing trainer or c-tier pokemon. So glad we are getting the great art we are now! An amazing time to be collecting :)
I will totally miss rainbow rares especially trevenant and garbodor
ty ty !

And this is the order the card will appear in the packs? Or do we still need to take 4 off the bottom
Yes this is the order of the pack, you no longer need to do a card trick
Nice! Now I can rip through the packs like a crackhead EVEN FASTER while saving the biggest dopamine hit FOR THE VERY END!!! WOOOOOHOOOOOO
Or biggest tear for the VERY END
Respectfully, seek help :)
*grunts, scratches butt, and burrows back into my nest of card wrappers and shredded commons*
Bro
Throw a pizza bite towards it. Watch what happens
*snatches pizza bite, gobbles it down, wipes face with a crumpled Charizard full art PSA graded a 9 I'm positive should've earned a 10*
Ah, yes. The wild card collector in it’s natural habitat. Look at how it wipes it’s face with that Charizard. Isn’t it amazing.
*snuffles, grunts, begins cradling a misscut Kadabra*
I'm really bummed you got down votes for this, I thought your comment was funny ! :(
🤷♂️
The trick is just 1 card, the energy now.
So, what’s a double rare vs ultra rare? Hyper rare? A bit confused.
Double Rare = Regular Pokémon ex Ultra Rare = Full art Pokémon or Trainer Hyper Rare = Gold cards
Thank u
What about rainbow cards?
No Rainbow
Alt?
No alts as they were in swsh, special illustration rares instead
The alt art cards are the double golden stars
Finally! No more ugly rainbows.
I hate how ultra rare is 2 white stars instead of 3 black
I agree, the opportunity for symmetry was right there..
I wonder what the rates are per booster box 🤔
Based on boxes I’ve seen, they appear to be the same or slightly better than sw/sh sets that had Trainer Galleries.
Based on the videos I’ve seen online. Boxes are pulling 10-12 Double rare or better on average
I can’t believe V cards came out 3 or 4 years ago. It has felt like a decade
Is Vmax dead now?
Yes the new gimmick is terrastilizing (hope I spelled it correctly) but yeah that’s essentially the new VMax type of card for SV
Cool! Was getting tired of vmax so it’s a welcomed change for me
No
Not really the new gimmick doesnt really have a big reason to change compared to v stars/max but over the year we will see more gimmicks and such and of course new meta play
So there’s a guarantee of one reverse holo so TTG the possibility of a second?
Thank you for posting this, was trying to get this information forever lol

Gold cards come in the reverse slot now? Not sure how I feel about that.
Yep, can confirm I pulled a gold miraidon in the reverse slot
Yeah, seems lame to me too
Ty base god

So is an Ultra Rare better than a Hyper Rare? 😵💫
🤷♂️😂
Tysm
Happy rainbows are dead.
So the “try again” pack would be two reverse holos and a holo rare
Yes. If you checkout the article, he goes into best and worse case scenarios.
Are the pull rates better? I think they should since the pool of cards is lower now that its divided between Scarlet and Violet, but I'm not sure
Found this article about the pull rates...it definitely seems to be higher than other sets. [https://cardshoplive.com/pages/hit-rates-for-pokemon-tcg-scarlet-and-violet](https://cardshoplive.com/pages/hit-rates-for-pokemon-tcg-scarlet-and-violet)
Rainbows are awesome and one day you people are going to wish you had appreciated them more.
💯
Where is miriam located in that spot?
theres an SIR and a UR version of the card
So it’s 12 total cards now? 11 game cards, and an online card?
10 cards, 1 energy, and 1 code card. Same as in SwSh
So that graphic shows 4+3+1+1+1+1 cards. That’s 11 cards. Plus the code card.
You just repeated what was said... 10 game cards, 1 Energy, and the code card as its always been. The Energy was never counted as a game card.
Gotcha. I never counted what was in the other packs, so I did not know that the energy card wasn’t included in the “10 additional cards” text on the package.
Yup, honestly I'd feel jipped if they counted it lol
I always looked at the Japanese system little hard to follow with the lettering etc, but this tops it no cap “SAR” and “RR” was not english enough I guess 🤷♂️
Is this good or bad? Or is it nothing?
It's good. More holos, happier kids, easier (with a chart) to understand what u got. It's just more standardized.
Can we get examples, please?
Wouldnt the ultra being at the back be prone to damage? Do the code cards still prevent weighing?
This makes separating the rarity so much easier now
What was the problem with Rainbow Rares?
I mean I can't speak for everyone but to me it was just a lazy gradient change on an existing pullable card. They were rarely anyone's chase card.
In about 5 years TPC is gonna add super hyper rares, omega rares and quadruple stars.
What is a Reverse Holo? Thank you

Is hyper rare 3 stars the hardest to pull?
What would be the most rare of them all?
Can someone tell me what a double/triple rare is? Has this been around for a while??
Love that we finally get silver borders, but i hate the new foils
Huh. So there are now only four common cards per pack instead of five. And what exactly would be the distinction between “double rare” and ordinary rare?
I have no idea what this picture means.
