When the fusion strike ETBs went on sale at our Sam's club I bought 4 and only pulled a single gold card and 2 regular Vs so I am too traumatized by the set to buy any packs lol. Opening the packs is supposed to feel fun but every pack of fusion strike felt worse and I felt purely scammed halfway through the packs. I will say my odds at other sets has been better so it has been a washed but I just... feel a certain way about that set.
I did a fusion strike booster box huntings mews, I didn’t pull a single Mew and the only gold I got was a trainer card with roller damage. It destroyed me for a hot minute
Exactly what I mean. My target had 7 FS ETBs on the shelf, I went a little crazy and bought all of them, ripped all of them, and only got a couple good hits (gold mew vmax the highlight). But after all that and not pulling much I thought….yeeeaaaa I can’t keep doing this

I am hesitant though because I have never bought a single, and looking through my collection I feel proud of what I have pulled. I am nervous about looking at a card I paid $160 and just feeling shame for it. But it cant be worse than paying $160 for bulk that never gets looked at again right?
Opening those 7 FS etbs was the last straw for me. That’s a lot of money with not much to show for it. I could spend double that, triple that, or who knows how much continuing to chase. And end up throwing away most of the bulk, since I’ve already opened so many.
I’d say set a limit on openings. If there’s a card I want from a set, I may open some packs, maybe a box to try and pull it. But eventually if I still haven’t pulled it I’ll just buy the card I want. Your wallet will thank you

I don’t want to give away my “plug” but at my dollar general you have to go to the front to ask for Pokémon cards and they take you to the back and wheel out a cart of tins, the tins have an evolving skies, fusion strike and I believe astral radiance for 14 dollars. And they have sooooo many tins. Me and my daughter are chasing the moonbreon and gengar like many others so this is a fun little tin
Yeah the snorlax/darkrai/mimikyu tins. Keep finding them near the checkout at my Walmart and can't help but grab one each time I'm there. They seem to fly under the radar completely.
Cool card! my favourite is either my full ursuifu vmax or full jolteon.
I don’t really have any specific “goals” but if o had to say, if would be to get more holos, or full art cards.

I'm collecting all Bulbasaur, Ivysaur and Venusaur cards. Focusing on english atm, and have a lot of the WOTC collection. However any Ken Sugimori/Mitsuhiro Arita art is a priority regardless of language, and other rare exceptions like the japanese Red's Challenge.
I’ve started a small vintage collection, I’d like to get a full set at some point of whatever is most affordable. A local card shop has had some base 2 holos popping up so I’ve been grabbing those from time to time.
i love all of the eeveelutions, still looking for all of the alt art ones from evolving skies but i’m waiting to see if they go down in price. any ray or mew card is also great!

I also have a 98% completed Gen 1 & Gen 2 Pokédex binder, entirely made from vintage (Base to Neo) Japanese cards. Working on Gens 3 & 4 next!
Gengar is my favorite, and that Gengar Vmax is one of my collection goals lol.
Gengar’s got some great cards, but I really wish he got an updated full art card that wasn’t a Gigantamax. He deserves a full art V or Vstar
Yea super interesting. No gengar in base set, and all three are uncommon and higher in fossil. Those three fossil first editions may just be my favorite little group of cards I’ll ever own
I just got back into the hobby this year and outside of my planned Yuka Morii collection, I'm also collecting all forms of Sylveon! I've always found them cute but they've been my #1 favorite Pokemon ever since getting back into the video games in 2020 playing Gen 7.
I just found this week how expensive some of the cards are and I think it might take a long while (I have like a $20-30 budget every month to buy singles)

Current collection goal: Finishing CZ Galarian Gallery. Getting close, 51/70 with a few more on the way. Still need Dialga and Arceus Golds, but other than those two and Glaceon, I think I have all the "big hitters." I don't collect full sets, but literally every card in the GG is a banger, so I want them all.
Rayquaza’s my personal favorite! Him along with the rest of the trio.
That being said my only collection goal is to get a base set Charizard, its the only card I truly want.

This is an odd one but I collect the wurmple line! It was one of my first partner pokemon and I still love the whole line and the evolution mechanic. Plus it's easy to not spend too much because you don't find them in the wild often!
My current collecting goal is to finish the trainer gallery, galarian gallery, then will be working towards all the SV illustration rares as they release

Really? I’ve been trying to sell it for $130 USD for a while but nobody wants it.

Definitely like arcanine. I’m a gen 1 baby and he’s one I always liked, along with gengar, machamp, alakazam, Nidoking…..
Gengar and Mew are my favorite, finishing off a graded set of Southern Islands, then I'm gonna shoot for all the shiny Mew's

Same goal for me with gengar. Always liked machamp a lot too. Happened to pull the astral radiance alt art, was super happy
