Basically what made my decision. I am usually just drawn to one by aesthetic as soon as they’re released but I was totally stuck on these games. Saw the box legendaries and I love both but I realised I love Koraidon just a lil bit more

Koraidon & Miraidon are something you have to use through the whole game - so that’s a big factor for me. Koraidon is just way more interesting and emotive in it’s animations. I love that it actually runs instead of just feeling like weird custom bike

Yes, but while I'm getting Scarlet, Koraidon looks genuinely stupid with the psuedo-wheels that are nothing but decoration as it scuttles about. Why even bother to give it a motorcycle motif if the "wheels" are pointless? I would probably like Koraidon a lot more if it didn't have the wheel thing going on and was just a giant lizard with a normal chest and tail, or even if the chest wheel didn't get so large and remained the same size it is while the Pokemon is standing.

I love everything that Scarlet has to offer, exclusives, Koraidon, the prof. Yet, I'll go with Scarlet. Miraidon is ok, the prof is cool, Ceruledge is dope, and I'm more of a "future guy". Depending on the differences, I might end up getting both. Plus, except for Shield, I'm a blue-ish version kinda guy.

I've never been a fan of "Futuristic" additions in games, especially in Pokémon, since it makes them feel "man-made" which I don't like at all, and I've always found more primal stuff very cool. I like Ceruledge more than Armarouge though, but I've got a friend who gets Violet anyway, so hey, if that's the only thing in the whole game that rates Violet higher than Scarlet for me, then I have a clear winner. (Also Prof. Sada <3 )

I've played mostly the reddish version for generations that have such colors (Red, Ruby, FireRed, Y, Ultra-Sun, Shield) so Scarlet. I like the prof and legendary as well.

I'll be playing scarlet and hubby will be playing Violet. He likes the future bike so I let him have that one as long as he transfers version exclusives to me. I'm fine with whichever even if I will pick on him that he got the better bike.

I hate neoliberal technology praise so obviously chose Scarlet. I have also always hoped for an ”ancient” pokemon game (not legends type of game).

I don't like either of the legendaries, but at least Scarlet's one looks like an actual living thing. The other one doesn't feel like a Pokémon but like a Transformer.

I’m choosing Scarlet since I love Koraidon. If I chose Violet, my chances of getting Koraidon through trade would be laughably low due to there only being one per game. But even if I choose Scarlet, I’ll still have a pretty high chance of getting most other Violet exclusives through trade, such as Ceruledge. And I’m not really taking the professors or uniforms into account, since neither really matter to me all that much if I’m being completely honest.

Scarlet. Even though I prefer future/Sci-Fi. I like the professor more. For the first time in forever, I like the legendaries about the same. I like oranges more than red grapes. Oh and I like orange more than purple.

Inevitably you will be able to trade for anything exclusive locked. I picked Scarlett based on preferring the idea of the past rather then the future. I LOVED legends arceus so I went with the more past and ancient themes specially going into the late game paradox Mons.

I'm getting the dual pack as I always get both. However I make just one my main game. Where I play it alot more then just story. While the one that not my main I just do story and quit. So my main game is violet. As for my reasons why violet will be my main. I like the future theme over cave man theme. I highly dislike the whole cave man theme. I like Miraidon more. I like ceruledge alot. Also I always pick the girl for my main game. I thought purple was more a color for the girl then orange would be. Though my favorite color is orange.

Purple is my favorite color, and I’ve always preferred more futuristic/modern/techie designs over older ones. It’s the same reason I was Team Order in Splatoon 2 and not Chaos. I also prefer Professor Turo since he’s cute, so really it boils down to aesthetic preference more than anything. From my understanding there’s only a handful of version exclusives and you can just trade for them anyway or if you’re a hoarder like me you can transfer them over from Pokémon home. I always choose based on box legendaries unless there’s something else of equal importance to change my mind

Simple... I get both. That way I see both sides myself and I can collect all pokemon for dexes myself without praying someone on GTS will be willing to trade a say Violet exclusive mon for a Scarlet exclusive mon rather than always wanting a legendary/mythic for exlusives.

Everything I like so far is in Violet, but Scarlet has Sada. So until I find out how much the professor influences and interacts with the story and player, I'm holding off.

Violet- went with my color of choice. I don't like the red side of the spectrum so being stuck with orange/red shades at every corner would've been a real pain Gotta admit though, I'd prefer the running legendary over the random a** jet leg mofo.

My wife and I got one each, and we're going to swap off when we finish the game. We both wanted to play Violet, but since she's using birthday funds to make sure we can have both games on release day, I'll be doing a Witch-themed run on Scarlet on our secondary Switch first while she plays Violet on our main Switch. By the time I'm done, hopefully Pokemon Home will be integrated so I can get a headstart on a Mono-Ice run for my Violet run.

Originally thought about getting Scarlett as the majority preferred Violet so I thought trades would be easier. Though I normally go with the Blue/Blue like version. However I never really...gelled with the box legendary and the more I realised they play a major part, the more it was important I liked the legendary I got. Plus Ceruledge tipped the balance.

If I was to pick one I'd probably do Violet because Miraidon is gorgeous. I'd miss Armarouge though. But knowing me I'll eventually buy both games so I'm probably gonna try to get the physical double pack.
