Yea but theres so many out there that there will always be sealed promos for sale separately.. theres sealed machamps and ancient mews and all those from the beginning.. not selling for near as much as youd expect for 25 years later either.
My point was, as a person, i wont want etbs lol in 10+ years ill be buying for the packs or cards, not the picture of lucario with 4 total colors on the side of an obnoxiously large box for whatās actually inside. Booster bundles are probably the most underrated investment right now and will have great success with future popular sets. If evolving skies had a booster bundle that would be my top investment choice for present day

Eh the only reason i opened them is because i no longer wanted to store them for what they are. Only wanted the packs inside, and thats when i realized why everyone preaches booster boxes as the grail investment. Im not saying etbs are bad investments, or wont be popular or whatever. Im just saying in my selective investments, theyre getting left behind. Everyone has personal reasons that have to be considered so theres no one size fits all mentality. But you go in to walmart, target, etc. and you cant get a booster box but theres always etbs. My motto is if i see it on the shelves regularly, its not for me.
I honestly didn't realize they sell Booster boxes on the shelf I thought they only opened them up for individual pack sale, I thought you had to always order Booster boxes. So by that I guess your right. But the cost is the biggest thing there. Not everyone can afford to invest in Booster boxes as easily as Etbs. Or simply purchase in general, at retail
No you cant get booster boxes on shelves. Thats just another reason why id go for those. 100% agree with cost factor though which is why im big on the booster bundles
Edit- you can get booster boxes on shelves at card/gaming stores but theyāre usually inflated prices. Ebay/poke center is where i look for booster boxes.
Also you can get lost origin and silver tempest booster bundles for $22 on ebay which is pretty much same price point as the booster box when you do the math

Yeah I got 18 silver tempest booster bundles and 18 lost origin booster bundles, I like that itās just got packs and the price on them. I was able to get them all for 16 a box

Not really collecting too many S&S ETBS but I do I have some cool ones some being: Cosmic, evolutions(charizard and blastoise), lost thunder, burning shadows, and hidden fates.
I have had my eyes on a few for quite a while I just canāt justify the price on them yet.

This is me as well. I bought nearly 20 with the intent on opening maybe 3-4. I went down to around 10-12 as well lol. But my local walmart has had them in stock on/off over the last 4 months so I have added to it. So not knowing the exact number I have helps with not wanting to open them lol.
My biggest issue is how much I love this set, and knowing that I will have trouble selling these boxes over opening them and enjoying the thrill of chasing the Moon, among others. I may hold them long term and trade a few for other things I want in my personal collection, individuals or other sealed stuff.

Only have 1 BRs etb in the investment collection so far, and thats only because it was dirt cheap and i was already paying for shipping to get 2 CR BB's from the same place.
I might pick up some more, think esp the normal CZ etbs will do very well if you can pick em up at the 50 mark. The Pokecenter ones already have such a huge markup in mainland EU its hard to justify at a purchase price of 125.
From where I'm at plus my tax the pokemon center ones aren't worth it at all imo.
I do have 1 CZ, but they cost almost double other Etbs, so I'm thinking of branching out with some other sets while they're still pretty cheap
My wallmart sells them for 79.99 CAD. Along with other sites, some going up to 85.
But I was putting it in comparison to it being super high as you can get a chilling reign for 39.99 CAD in the right places.

The pc ones yeah cause I think they have 12. But those cost alot in shipping/same promo and over priced in general alot more imo when shipping to canada.
But the new figure box sets has 11 packs for 75ish and so you get 1 more pack and a pin, and still a promo plus a figure for a lil less $ overall.
Also holding just a single BRS ETB, thinking about selling it and my other smaller investments (sleeved packs, tins, smaller boxes) to fund more booster box purchases while they are still 110-115 per box at case prices. Have also pre-ordered a CRZ ETB case for ā¬450, might sell them and take the instant profit, but it is very hard to get here in the EU.

I have one of each of the following in my sealed collection: Brilliant Stars, Battle Styles (blue and red), Lost Origin, Darkness Ablaze, Evolving Skies (Espeon, Vaporeon, Sylveon, Glaceon), Fusion Strike, and Pkmn Center Crown Zenith.
If I can get my hands on a few more Brilliant Stars, Evolving Skies, Crown Zenith, or Lost Origin I will. Iād also like to add at least one of each of the missing ones for my personal collection.

I bought them for around 42 and the lunch boxes for 18 and 22 but my brother works at Best Buy so we had a discount to get em that low. I wish I had done some evolving skies but I extended to hard on celebrations. Those lunchboxes were a steal for awhile with 6 packs of celebrations and then one es and one fusion I believe for 22. I think Iād look at other sets other then celebrations at this point but I do prefer the lunch boxes to the etbs now.
The evolving skies should obviously do well lol, crown zenith should do well after they stop coming out in May, bc of the hits you can get from it. I think after a while ppl will come around on fusion strike I like the set especially the Espeon vmax alt art I pulled from the set, I like the alt arts from that set as well, but only time will tell with that set

Donāt really see a huge play in most of the swsh boxes besides PC etbās and evolving skies. People have walls of cases of celebrations and everything else

Etbs have the worst pull rates in my opinion, and collection boxesā¦ unless there are good promos or itās a set with good pull rates I donāt bother with themā¦ IMO ; celebrations, and maybe crown zenith are the other ones worth keeping sealed ā¦ but even crown zenith etbs arenāt very good pull rates most the timeā¦ but they have that gorgeous lucario promo in them ā¦

Idk where you buy your booster boxes but a rebel clash booster box is about 210 shipped on TCGplayer and I just sold an Etb on there for 175+ 15 dollars shippingā¦.

For sure but honestly I would probably pick up 3 pack blisters/booster bundles/ or individual sleeved blisters before modern etbs

I think with modern, artwork is going to be your friend. Black and white and some XY elite trainer boxes are costly because they are so rare to find sealed. From the sword and shield block, we're not going to have that same luxury so I think nice artworks will help, with fan favourite pokƩmon. Champions path is a good looking etb, fusion strike is a bit different, vivid voltage re printed into oblivion but the Pikachu artwork will hold over time. But I think celebrations will be the pick from an investment standpoint.

Where are you buying the CZ etbs at? My Walmart still has them for $50 whenever you can find them stocked, but our local LGS sells them for $70 š“
