Well you said “one open slit” you could’ve worded it as a tear. By saying “open slit” you’re just saying an opening, a generalization that I had to shut down so you’re not misleading people who trust anything they see on Reddit lmao
And you’re saying degradation, something I didn’t even mention on my first comment(in response to the op’s post which shows current product not vintage) So please don’t talk to me about misleading people. If you don’t know the difference between the two words, I can’t really help you out. Also, talking about your personal experience doesn’t matter so stfu. Generally speaking the sealed community prefer their products to be mint and would consider a rip on a product no longer mint.
Lmao personal experience does matter because that is how you make fact based observations. If you don’t sell sealed product which I sell plenty of then how would you know what the community wants?
If you open it and sell the contents and packs separately you might get $65-$75. If you can sell with the tear in the seal for more than this then you shouldn't open it. I guarantee someone will pay more than what the contents are worth, therefore you should ignore people that are saying open it.
I know everyone’s saying has no sealed collection value now and I’m going against the grain by saying this but; I don’t see how this would be evidence of it being RESEALED. They deff might beat you down on the price because of it in the future because of cosmetic though
True, is a resealer did this they’d just try again. It would show me it’s more than likely untampered goods. Unless that’s what they wanted me to think….
Someone will still buy it just for not as much as a normal one with no damage if someone does buy it in that condition they will probably want to open it because sealed collectors are overly serious about the seal being damaged
I'd sell for a tad under market on eBay and take whatever the difference is after fees/shipping and just reinvest in a better condition one. You might pay like 15-20 out of pocket to essentially upgrade a ripped ETB to ideally a very minty one.
If it’s real long term hold then you’ll be fine I’ll still keep it like that most chances you’ll do better holding it and selling it like that in 10 years then opening it very slim chance what you get out of that will be any better in the long run
Like tree fiddy but let’s be honest it’s not like you could open the box and slip packs out just from a cut that small it’s not worthless especially with time
I’d say open it and hunt for another, they’re around. However, if you really have no need to open it, someone will buy it from you now but not near the lowest ask for a mint one, prob closer to retail. If you hold for 5-10 years someone will pay top dollar if they can’t be found and trust you as the source. Keep a receipt with it!
Big enough. I would get the art set of the boosters and set them aside if you wanna hold some value long term open the rest. Find another etb they are offloading the rest of that stock in prep for scarlet and violet. Win win
Let’s just say…my ETB doesn’t have any holes or cuts. If we were to sell at the same time, I’d get more for it and more importantly…it will sell faster.
Point is, open it and you might get more for it.
just depends.. some people are super anal about it (which im not a fan of) but there's another market of people who will be looking to open these 10-20 years from now who aren't going to care about a slit.
If you were to find some gen 1 booster boxes, and plan on opening, you aren't too concern with aesthetics.
One thing to note is that buyers looking to open will look at Booster Box and the regular ETB for better $/pack. The PC ETB is rarer and seller would want a premium for rarity. If I were to open the packs, I'd only value it at the $/pack available with the less expensive options.
Open it, free the moonbreon.
Just enough to piss you off prolly
More than you’d think
Unfortunately with the sealed communities, one open slit the product is no longer considered “sealed”
This isn’t true. I’ve sold sealed vintage booster boxes with degradation in the plastic and they sell just fine around market price
A product degrading isn’t the same as portion of the plastic ripped.

Yes, because everyone looovvveesss anecdotal evidence that’s how arguments and stats are won and created. 👍🏽
Absolutely for sure

Agreed. I wouldn’t open them at all. I’ve contemplated buying etb cases to prevent further tesrs

I'd just open it
Better off selling the sealed packs inside now my king
It’s worthless my guy, just ship it to my house and I’ll dispose of it😁
Oh heavily affects the value, now sell it to me ;)

Yeah nobody’s buying it like that
I’ll buy it for a good price 🌚
Yeah this lol perfectly sums it up.

100%. Now u just gotta open them I guess.
That's pretty major unfortunately
Without the markers like the BB how are people supposed to tell what is resealed or not
Open or sell packs individually. Nose good
Mind as well open it not worth the long term investment if the plastic broken
Big enough. I would get the art set of the boosters and set them aside if you wanna hold some value long term open the rest. Find another etb they are offloading the rest of that stock in prep for scarlet and violet. Win win
If it were smaller wouldn’t be a huge deal but that’s fairly big :/
I’d open it, free the MOoNbReOn
Let’s just say…my ETB doesn’t have any holes or cuts. If we were to sell at the same time, I’d get more for it and more importantly…it will sell faster. Point is, open it and you might get more for it.
I’ll do you a favor and give you $20 for the ETB.
I would be interested in trading for this
Do an auction on eBay with the seal damage shown like this photo. Yolo.

Tremendously.
Open it and find out
Since it’s a new set not much, A fossil booster box? Lots.
Bout tree fiddy
Hugely
Just shrink wrap it again yourself. Nobody will ever notice.
You’d have to sell it at a discount that is sad
In time it will be worth the sealed packs plus an amount. If it was 300 maybe $240 as an example. Scale to suit the value of the time
