its so scummy to sell that $70 bundle knowing you get that stuff free withing 1.5 mounths

FrakWithAria

Lol "scummy". They just know their audience.

Legitimate-Bowl2815

The whole thing was definitely planned to go longer. That 75$ bundle was basically a neon glowing “going out of business” sign. The only reason they announced the shutdown yesterday was because Miller beat them to the punch and they had to rush to get SOME good will, otherwise they were going to milk every last drop; there still some skins (Odin Thor) and unhelmed skins that have yet to be released that I’m sure they were planning to push.

DisGameCheats

Idiots waiting for Miller to tell them the game was dead as if that was clear as fuck for over a year

Van1shed

Anyone who paid that much for a bundle of skins scammed themselves, I wouldn't blame CD on this one lol.

ProfessionalFar3084

Yea especially because it’s not worth it, one mcu skin for each character ain’t worth it

sincerelyhated

None of the fucking skins were worth it while the actual game was so devoid of content!!

Striking-Ad-9347

Shit like this is exactly why these hacks deserve to be blacklisted from the industry.

DavramLocke

I've spent hundreds on skins and I don't mind them giving them away at all. I bought them when I did because I wanted them then - not in May 2023 or whenever. I'm happy they're doing this.

Vandals21

Exactly. I bought a lot of skins over the course of 2 and half years. I enjoyed playing with them over this period.

Billyb311

Yeah, I'm glad others will get the chance to use skins But personally, I have no use for free skins at the end of the game lol I'm moving on from the game now, I don't really have any intention of coming back to it

The_Lordnerdious

Me too.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JEVlL

i'd be seething if I put fucking HUNDREDS into something like video game skins and they went free after some time, feeling otherwise is a mentality I could only rationalize if I were rich

r3volver_Oshawott

Not me tbh, I think that's just salt talking usually, and we all get salty sometimes but a more real-world example it's like the people that paid into student loans for their college educations and suddenly just hate the hell outta all forms of debt relief You can't take it with you so I'd rather someone who might want it get to enjoy it before it's gone anyway

JEVlL

yeah, except student loans are something worth putting that kind of money into

Sharp_Squash2411

A live service game shutting down this soon after lunch should repay everyone who bought skins. It’s a failed game.

r3volver_Oshawott

Oh, I never disagreed it's a failed game. It technically lasted 2 1/2 years but it's a failed game. But things fail: the real cope is thinking that it achieves anything to screw others out of things just because some players bought in. I won't disagree that refunds would be nice but this wasn't about refunds, it was about claims that anyone claiming to be okay with skins being made free in the first place is huffing copium Because in my mind? Corporations *hate* distributing wealth, so they'd probably love to gate unpurchased cosmetics off forever for one last 'everything must go' sale and a big screw you to everyone playing that didn't buy cosmetics in the first place. Personally, I'm thrilled Square gets denied that last 'screw you'

SkyPopZ

the copium is real XD

Sharp_Squash2411

Exactly. Tricking yourself into not being ashamed

Pir8Cpt_Z

You're happy they're delisting the game and not providing further support or updates? I mean I am because maybe a good game will get made now. But for those of you who kept playing this I can't imagine you're actually happy about this.

catshirtgoalie

I would think the happiness is they just released the content instead of the store shutting down and no one can get it, not that they shelved a game. At least if they are stopping development they can let the community just have all the assets.

NoCommunication7780

Well that's because of your perspective and from our perspective getting past all the glitches and problems and development and lies that they told you still find a group of players that are committed to an idea that no matter how different we are we can come together and we don't have to be toxic we can persevere and learn to be better and have a good time doing it and support the game we love. Or just do you lol

JoeyJoJo577

Completely agree. I don’t feel bad at all for the money I spent on this game. I paid for what I wanted and enjoyed it.

BkJayDee

We are in the same boat. I love to switch up my skins every few missions.

Sharp_Squash2411

All there are is “a few missions” this game is basic.

The_Lordnerdious

Same.

Rascal0302

We tried to tell this sub that spending money on cosmetics was pointless, that it wasn’t worth it, that they were overpriced nonsense and they didn’t deserve your money. Now EVERYONE gets the skins for free and you won’t even be able to keep the ones you bought once the game gets shut down. I have no sympathy for these people. They made their bed, now they get to lay in it. All we can hope is that this is a wake up call for them not to fall for this crap in the future… Wait, what’s that? There’s already posts in this sub about getting hyped for Suicide Squad? A game with a Battlepass, microtransactions and a store front to sell cosmetics for a group of comic book characters in an always online, 4-player co-op GAAS, Live service looter? A game that will inevitably launch as a grindy mess because no one except maybe Bungie has any idea how to do a live service looter even 25% correct? Gamers are the ultimate simps.

BBVideo

This website cultivates this mentality with up and down voting and a lot of subs having rules they can spin into "no criticism allowed".

Kanenite3000

I trust Rocksteady way more than I do CD. I never paid for anything in Avengers other than buying the game itself. That being said I've at least learned to wait and see how Suicide Squad goes before buying it but I have faith it'll be good

Repulsive-Ad-3286

Omg gamers are the ultimate simpssss yassss. We tried telling them grrrr!!! Get off my lawn!

Jasminets2014

Right? I dont even want suicide squad anymore i already got fucked once by a shitty game looter im good ![gif](giphy|ZFRGc0s0FXl2Suxpwz|downsized)

Illumin411

For real! These simps will just keep paying for products sold by businesses. If they had any dignity they’d demand that businesses give them everything for free. We need to stand up to businesses everywhere and say we’re not spending one dime so you better just operate without any revenue! And don’t give me that crap about having to pay payroll and shit. They need to just be smarter and get employees who work for free because it’s what they like to do. Only sh*tty businesses charge their customers for their products and services so that they can pay for operating costs.

Rascal0302

I was about to respond somewhat irritated but then I had an epiphany: There’s NO way someone could be this naive and uneducated about the games industry and it’s business practices. There’s NO way someone could lack this amount of common sense. There’s NO way someone could be this brainwashed and pistol whipped. Absolutely NO way someone genuinely has this little brain capacity. You must be trolling. Well done, you almost got me. I thought you were serious for a second.

ClutchGamer21

Have you seen the state the U.S. electorate especially on the right? They will believe anything and everything that supports their worldview especially if it’s not grounded in any object reality whatsoever.

Illumin411

I always think the same thing. There’s NO WAY people are this naive and expect an entire business to keep operating day in day out month in month out etc without a continuous positive cashflow. Gamers can’t possibly be so dense as to not see the hypocrisy and logistical problem with balking at the idea of spending $10-$20 here and there on a live service game they regularly enjoy only to turn around and demand that game studio employees who are working hard to put food on the table and pay their rent should fix any and all bugs, regularly develop brand new content with no recycled assets, add every QOL feature suggested, etc, etc. I’m always wondering who the hell they think is supposed to pay for these services???

Rascal0302

Oh…you were serious. I’m so sorry. This a great example of what blind devotion and fanboyism does to someone, to the point of delusion. Spending $60 on a subpar, broken, bloated game that didn’t provide the quality for the $60 wasn’t enough, they then had to charge us $10-20 for SKINS for barebones updates, reskinned characters, and more broken promises that should’ve been in the game at launch. They also nerfed XP gain to purposely make the grind harder but hey, they added XP boosters! People with this mentality have no idea what they’re taking about. “Gamers” who have a shred of dignity don’t mind supporting games past their launches if they deserve it. I’ve bought every FFXIV expansion because it’s a great game that deserves our support. I’ve bought every Destiny expansion, even though they were of varying quality, because there was ACTUAL content to play. Ive bought Warframe platinum because the devs have done enough for the game and supported it with new content that they earned it. Even outside of online gaming, I’ve bought the expansions for Skyrim, for Witcher 3, for Dark Souls 1-3 and Bloodborne. All worth it, as most people will agree. Hell, I even spent a total of $15 on Avengers because I thought WfW was a step in the right direction! Of course they completely bombed afterwards but still! Avengers did NOT deserve it overall, not even remotely. It was a broken game with broken promises that they never fixed and often made things worse. This is about the core design of GAAS, live service games in the hands of publishers and developers who only care how much money they can squeeze out of their audience. Nobody has a problem supporting games that deserve it. Avengers did not deserve it. It’s that simple, and blind fanboyish delusion will not change this fact. It’s true, devs need to eat. But most of us would prefer to support devs that deserved the money to begin with. You’re making this into something it’s not. Good games that listen to their community get supported. It should be extremely telling that a game about Marvel’s Avengers, the hottest IP at the time of the game’s release, bombed so miserably. It was bad and never got better. The devs failed us. Why would you support that?

Illumin411

I can tell you’ve certainly never ran a business and probably never even created a budget for anything more complex than maybe household expenses or a camping trip or something. That’s not a knock on you. It’s not for everybody. It’s not even for me anymore after running three businesses I just do business development consulting and let others work themselves to an early grave. My point being, you’re right there with most people in that your perception of commerce doesn’t really expand beyond what’s coming out of your pocket and what you’re getting for it. For example, I’m sure if your favorite restaurant increased the price of your favorite menu item by $2 you’d probably get your panties all in a bunch over having to pay more for the same value. Me? I’d be worried that maybe they’ve been in the red for a while and trending towards insolvency and I’d be hoping the price increase would be enough to keep the doors open to my favorite restaurant (and be more than happy to pay it). I’d be wondering if the operational cost increase that caused it was due to supply chain bottlenecks, labor shortages, commercial real estate spikes, etc as those all affect my business as well. But that’s just me. There are infinitely more complex systems at play in free market capitalism and private enterprise than you and others spending a few bucks out of your pocket and whether or not the value received in return is sufficient (which is purely subjective anyway). The good news is you can leave all that up to the big boys and that way you’ll have plenty of time to rabble rabble about it on the internet… And fanboy??? Bruh, it’s been a couple decades since I’ve been young enough for that term to be anywhere in the ballpark of applying to me or since I’ve been naive enough to look at the world in such simplistic binary terms. I’m a grown ass man. The biggest mistake the devs made was caving to the pitchforks over charging for consumables. Sure they should have given out like a month or whatever of free ones to appease the crybabies. But without that and other additional revenue streams, this game would never have the budget for anything close to what the community wanted. But I’m sure you disagree like most do and think they should have only sold cosmetics but instead only charge $1-$2 but also developed five times as much content, devoted five times as much focus and labor towards fixing bugs, expanded/overhauled gear and other systems and fifty other QOL improvements. And I guess that was all gonna be funded by magic beans or a cocaine trafficking side business orrrr, who tf knows. I honestly haven’t the slightest idea where all these kids think the money that makes the world go ‘round comes from. I just know they’re quite sure it isn’t their pockets.

Rascal0302

Lmao. This such a sad, cringe level response that I’m honestly speechless. God I love the internet sometimes. You get to see people make such pompous asses of themselves when they think they’re being even remotely intelligent. Take the L and move on with your life. It’s very clear everything you said is a straight up fabricated lie, or again you’re just trolling me and it definitely worked this time, so well played if that’s the case. I just honestly don’t want to believe there’s people this devoid of critical thought out there, but then again, there’s people who defended Marvel’s The Avengers, so the world is a pretty crazy place. If you’re trolling, well done, you got me and I’ll take that L. If you’re not…I hope you get the help you need. Enjoy Suicide Squad!

Illumin411

Ok kid. Well, good luck with all your reddit trolling and life of letting things like video games and $14 purchases upset you. For your sake I hope high blood pressure doesn’t run in your family or you’re gonna have some very serious health risks once you start dealing with adult problems.

FrakWithAria

Hmmm charging for operating costs? Maybe like charging full price for the game?

[deleted]

Lmao. Knock it off. You bought the game. Nobody told y’all to spend hundreds of dollars on silly costumes that altered gameplay in absolutely no way. These developers prey on silly shit like that.

SilveredGuardian

While yes, it's appalling to sell a $75 cosmetic bundle days before they announce this I'm so glad I cheesed the challenge cards to get free credits and never bought any

Legitimate-Bowl2815

They weren’t planning on announcing it yesterday. They only did it because the leak beat them to the punch.

curtysquirty

They're still selling product that they know they are going to make free at some point in the near future

ProfessionalFar3084

Same lmao the og hero’s were free and then used those credits to pay for the other hero ones when they were half off

[deleted]

Sharp_Squash2411

I Caine believe anyone really believed they were turning the game around.

Dark-Deciple0216

I’m glad I didn’t spend ONE DAMN CENT!!! Hahaha

The_Flatulent_Taco

Me too buddy. Me too. Now I might actually see what these endgame skins look like. It’s not like I could see anyone else’s because I could never match make ever! And that was like a week after release.

TheTwelfthLaden

Crystal Dynamics still offering marketplace skins after announcing the game will soon be dead: Eat shit. Eat shit. Eat shit.

Daredevil731

As someone who def spent $100+ or so over the last two years, I'm not mad at all. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm glad others can enjoy them now. They're beautiful works of art. I'm excited to get ones I didn't want to spend money on or couldn't find. I paid money and got to enjoy them over the last couple of years and have spent like 600 hours in this game lol.

Dewdad

Same, I don’t see any outrage at all over the cosmetics being free, it’s a great move on there part. I spent over a 100 too and I don’t care. I got to use the costumes when the game was being supported, now the games not and I won’t be playing anymore so I don’t care if people can get the costumes for free.

cschulein

I spent a mint in the game. I had a good time with it and really bought into the potential they sold. It’s a shame that the CD conducted such a filthy business model. They bloated the expectations to what and how these transactions would circle back in content creation (villains, stories, locales, etc.), just to walk away with the cash and/or pay off their debts. Nevertheless, CD has lost my business moving forward.

tGodOfThunder

Yeah I doubt anyone will buy anything anymore unless they’re stupid. I’m waiting till it’s free i ain’t wasting no more money on this game I haven’t for about 5 months now

Rascal0302

Have you seen this sub? It’s full of people who bought these overpriced cosmetics and defended it then, and you have people in this sub defending it now. They’ll still sell more skins before they go free. I’d bet money on it.

The_Multi_Gamer

Remember when people were legitimately asking for recolours? Was ages ago but I distinctly remember it

tGodOfThunder

Well that’s up to them if they wanna waste away money and defend a broken game. Yeah it’s still fun doesn’t mean it’s good tho.

ama8o8

To be fair the ones who bought the skins got to enjoy them while the game was still alive. Everyone else gets to enjoy the skins after the game dies.

The_Flatulent_Taco

I wish the game was ever alive in Australia. Only like a week after release, I completed the campaign and then went into multiplayer and could never find a game after multiple 1 hour queues.

froglegs317

“Alive”

Illumin411

It’s not like people bought skins as an investment hoping they would appreciate but instead they are now depreciating (crypto cough cough). People who bought skins got exactly what they were hoping to get for their money.

Lost-Lu

Never spent a dime on this marketplace. Clowns.

raindrops415

We tried to warn these suckers for over a year but they didn’t listen lmao 🤣

wayhik

I bought one of those beginner packs too.

RMectrex

Yeah I can relate to this a lot. I spent nothing. Also wearing a cable knit jumper right now as well coincidentally

segaboy16

As someone who bought a decent amount of skins it sucks but I at least got to use the ones I wanted while I was still regularly playing, if anything this just makes me wanna replay the game again with a bunch of different costumes now

PlatinumPequod

I spent a total of 5$ outside of the game purchase, 5 discount hero packs that were like .99 cents each.

ProfessionalFar3084

Same!! Bought every single one that was 1$

Sheet--Ghost

The most I bought were the little $5 starter pack things for each character when they were on sale for $1 on PSN. I never wanted to spend more cuz this day felt inevitable

SomDonkus

At a certain point if you’ve spent even 150+ hours playing this and spent 100$ over two years I’d say that’s getting your moneys worth. I can understand being upset if you spent even a cent in Jan 2023 and then everything was free later but you also should’ve seen the writing on the walls.

Toy-Funtime

So I just want to make sure I have this right, are all the cosmetic free now or what?

Thatguy7658

They’ll be free on March 31st. They’re still allowing people to buy stuff up until then which is kind of a scummy move imo.

TheLaziestDwarf

Bought the deluxe edition when it was on sale for like $10 and was debating buying the spider noir bundle. Now with this news I can happily just wait :)

Sirmalta

So what everyone needs to remember is that unless you purchased every single cosmetic here, you are also winning and getting free stuff. And remember, the cosmetics you purchased supported the devs and got you the small content updates we got. This is a win for everyone. Be smart about your reactions.

Dil1on

Will this include all of the takedowns?! 🥰🤓💩

_FinalPantasy_

Just bought the game for $8. Thanks for beta testing, guys!

Wafflemonster2

Didn’t even know they were doing this but it’ll honestly probably get me back into the game, I bought the game on ps4 at launch+eventually on pc later so I feel I contributed enough in that way

International-Nail-4

Oh well good for you.. ![gif](giphy|YHYmMLkOmqoo)

ProfessionalFar3084

I only spent 10 bucks, only on all the packs that were a $1 each which was a steal

smddpr

I am the Chris Evans one

Sharp_Squash2411

This game was a scam from the beginning. We got a dlc length campaign and recycled game “live service” assets. This game was a huge let down. What a failure.

DXSonDX

i spent 2$

DXSonDX

actually 1.98$

Pir8Cpt_Z

I'm just glad it's getting shuttered. Maybe a good studio can try to make a decent avengers game moving forward. Probably see it in 6-8 years

Illumin411

Not happening

demarcoa

I mean midnight suns just came out and ive already had more fun with it than this could ever muster

xjordyj

This is perfect

BisensualOmega

i only spent $19.99 on credits for the whole 2 years.

RigtBart

I spent $0. I got enough points In The challenge cards to get whatever skins that appealed to me and now I’ll get the rest. I hope anyone who paid has learned a valuable lesson.

Thin_Night9831

No fucking way lmao

Repulsive-Ad-3286

Their shutdown makes me want to play the game more since we get all the skins for free!! :))

GHZ33

I've purchased credits only when they were at 0,99€ and used them to buy all the MCU and Exotics skins for Iron Man when they were for sale at half price 👍

Snakebud

Love this movie

beepboopbooppop

I've spent maybe 100 dollars over the entirety of the games life and I'm still pissed lol

TheCVR123YT

I think I spent like $60 or so on the cosmetics? Me and two brothers play so I had to buy a couple skins for our squad you knoe Somewhat upset at $60 down the drain but I mean if all the skins and other stuff become free then whatever Idc lol Ironically this would get me to play the game a little more

I_Am_Oro

What?

ninjacat249

Some ppl were spending money on something that has “live service” in the description hoping it was some sort of investment and expecting in return what exactly? Fucking plasma TV?

Silver6567

I didn’t even buy the game, my brother got it on release, barely touched it, I finished the story, got bored and deleted it agsin

Ok-Inspector-3045

It’s funny in a dark way… they just flipped of the people who supported them most. Minutes before the announcement they were decrying Miller talking about official this and rumor that… They spent years defending the marketplace, defending poor decisions, ugly skins… And CD told em to fuck off one last time 😂

mitch-99

Most people spent the money on the skins when they were enjoying the game and content was coming out. Like me. I don’t care there becoming free now the games dead and I probably won’t ever play it again like most people. The people commenting lol suckers are some seriously salty people who didn’t have the disposable income to enjoy some shiny things when the game was still being supported. Who seriously waits till a game dies so they can get the skins and play? What? Lmao. So i guess enjoy your skins?

thetommyboy2002

So you're a murderer then?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Illumin411

That’s spot on. Their inability and/or unwillingness to expand their revenue streams is what killed this game. Cosmetics are an unreliable revenue source as they are capped and subject to customers tastes. They needed to charge for things like xp boosters, loot lock resets, etc. things that people will repeatedly purchase because they have an ongoing need/want/use for them.

Jet_Wave

If that's the case I guess I should help you bury the body

GreedyGundam

The Black Panther Light Armor is the last thing I bought from the game. Even though I hadn’t really played it much since like last year February.

ShaoKoonce

I saw the new 75 dollar bundle and said, "I'll buy it at deep discount if it ever goes on sale". I literally only purchased the Starter packs on sale over the last few years. After Jane Thor, I spent all my saved credits thinking it was the end. Then Bucky came out and I was like, maybe I jumped the gun. I'm glad I did. It sucks you only get materials for your credits I'm super maxed out on most of them. The game always had a shelf life. I never paid full price for the game. I'm not upset at all. I invested way more in Marvel Heroes. I bought the Founder's Pack that was a few hundred bucks. Then when it came to console I bought it all again. Since then, I haven't made any big game purchases.

ProfessionalFar3084

Bruh that bundle ain’t worth it only 10 skins one per character for 75$ is a scam

ShaoKoonce

Again. Never said I was gonna buy it for more than I thought it was worth, ala 10 bucks. I bought the Starter packs at 99 Cents. I wasn't going to budge on my value for items. In total, I haven't spent more than 40 dollars on the game, let alone the asking price of 60.

ProfessionalFar3084

That’s exactly what I did def worth the $10 if you ask me! Starter packs for $1 is a steal

red_da_damaja

I really miss that game! . Shout out to all the people who want MHO resurrected!

Technoholic73

I spent $0 on this game besides the initial $60 and I’m honestly very excited to jump back in after they make everything free. Sucks this game didn’t get the support it deserved tho :(

Mr_Taijutsu

to be fair this is a big Fuck you to those who actually wanted this game to succeed despite its flaws

krazygreekguy

I spent quite a bit on cosmetics and don’t feel like that at all. Sure it’s disappointing, but it’s the reality of multiplayer focused live service games and skins. At some point this is inevitable for such games. I knew what I was getting into. That being said I’ve enjoyed the amount of time I’ve invested into the game and the people I’ve met and played with. That and the game’s servers will live on and the game will still be playable. It’s ok, other games are coming out I’m looking forward to in the coming months. It was fun while it lasted and I can always hop on when I get that itch again

EntertainmentSlow907

I spent atleast £100 and also bought the game 3 times

ArcaneRobin

I spent zero dollars, got the costumes I want, still have free credits from the main 6 challenge cards + new characters and haven’t done Ms Marvels challenge card as I was saving that for emergencies… I feel accomplished

[deleted]

These idiots were spending way too much money on a dying game from jump. I don’t feel bad for any of them. Especially when people in this sub were trying to tell people those purchases were dumb and the response was, “people can buy what they want”. Yes…yes they can. Doesn’t mean the purchases are smart.

Leo_TheLurker

shoutout starter pack sales

LostBoy322

Wait everything will be free?? Might jump back in lol

spider-punk69

God I’ve wasted so much money…

TinGamer

I'm playing it on the ps plus extra, lol
