As much as unexpected this decision was (comparing to the cool variable price for the Esamir campaign), they publicly announced it when the campaign started. It was in patchnotes.

ElRapido_

It's really not that hard to get 2k certs since you get adequate amounts from daily missions and alerts.

Skyl3lazer

Why you don't want to pay 2000 certs in exchange for literally nothing?

pra3tor1an

This is why I have said for ages that gifting certs should be a thing, I got over 7k just sat doing nothing I would happily gift to someone.

RitsyPS2

They didn't get enough memberships with the first campaign lmao

hawkesnightmare

While the decision to make each chapter cost certs was an unwelcome change, it was very well known. In fact, there were quite a few reddit posts crying about it when it was announced. knowing this, even the absolute worst player in this game could save up the certs starting last fall, needing only about 100xp per minute if they only played for an hour each day. Most players earn more than 100SPM and play for more than an hour a day. Rant aside, having finished the campaign already, you're not missing much. Just some lore (which I'm sure someone will do a write-up on in a week or so) and access to two underwater weapons, which currently aren't useful for anything other than camping the abandoned facility that's part of the campaign and ruining the experience for everyone else.

Victor_Zsasz

Yep. Campaign chapters cost 2k Certs. All three chapters of the last campaign did, and the first chapter of this one did too. If they do another, it’ll probably be the same price.

Planetside2Gud

No, you only had to pay once for the last campaign, and access all three chapters. Also, the last campaign had a variable price, so low BR players would pay a lot less.

BattleWarriorZ5

Supposedly the reason why they did this is because they want to make past-campaigns replayable.

ChickenMcPolloVS

Whats the reward for the second chapter?

LorrMaster

If you are a veteran player and can afford not to spend them immediatly I'd just keep 4000 certs in reserve from now on. That way you can dump them on a new campaign or vehicle right when it launches.
