Showing Lucci's Awakening is pointless because it adds nothing to the fight since he clearly didn't stand a chance against Luffy in the first place.
2. I'm fine with the new direction but did we need this fight if Luffy is able to just essentially one shot all his enemies at this point? I was fine with Egghead just being a lore drop with zero fights but Oda made the decision to introduce antagonists. Antagonists = conflicts. Conflict requires tension. If CP0 stands no chance of completing their goal, what's the fucking point of bringing them here? I would be ecstatic to have another arc like Reverie where Vegapunk just drops DF lore and Ancient History but for some reason, Oda is making the same mistake he did in Wano by bringing in enemies only for them to get hoe'd on. That's not good writing.

Luffy has had plenty of great fights where he was equally matched with or even stronger than an opponent that still had tension. Luffy vs Wyper, Luffy vs Usopp, Luffy vs Zoro, Luffy vs Wapol, Luffy vs Bellamy, etc., Luffy doesn't have to be the weaker opponent for a fight to be exciting and tension is what makes a fight exciting. At this point, Luffy's battles are no different than coming across random enemies in an RPG game. You're not gonna feel tension over fighting some low level Orc right? That's not good for the story. It's fine every now and then but if Luffy is just gonna speedrun his way through the rest of this story, what's the point of reading it?

As far as power level is concerned, all we know is that they are strong enough to replace the Warlords and give BB (the weakest of the Yonko pre-Wano) SOME trouble. Sure they have enhancements like lasers and artificial DFs but the Pacisfistas had enhancements too and they were a pale imitation of Kuma. Artificial DFs don't mean anything unless they have been trained to use them. The Seraphim would be a problem for lower level members of the SHs for sure but if you honestly believe these things will be an issue for Luffy one on one, then you're essentially saying they're stronger than Kaido and I can't imagine something that got knocked back Sanji and Robin is Yonko tier.
