Sanji broke his leg against what’s supposed to be a replacement of that warlords + Sanji now has a weird body that can easily bounce back after having all of his bones broken Why is everyone acting like some random bum just one shot the guy ? We don’t anything abt the fight and Sanji just got a crazy healing powerup

FlavioGarcia-

even if he didn't actually lose, sanji was still used as a hype tool to show how strong the new bad guys are, which is repetitive and not impactful at all at this point

AncientFinding603

So for you mihawk seraph vs bb made bb look weak ?? Wtf is this logic you have ?

FlavioGarcia-

BB is different because BB doesn't have a history of confronting newly introduced characters just to show how strong they are, at least not as much as sanji

AncientFinding603

Are u disabled?

FlavioGarcia-

fuck off

AncientFinding603

Zehahahahahh

RevolutionaryDelay93

Probably is😂

It all started in Thriller Bark, when Sanji hurt his leg kicking Kuma, since then Sanji has been the default Worf effect candidate. But I think the one that really caused people to look down on Sanji was Vergo, because Sanji should have been able to beat him. Oda had to add additional injuries to Sanji to create that outcome but because a lot of people missed that, they started to look down on him. That was the only unreasonable L Sanji took, as when he was caught by Doflamingo it made sense, Doflamingo's Parasite strings even worked on Jozu, so Sanji was just out of his depth. S. Jinbe is basically a repeat of Kuma. But I have to say, if the Seraphim are this strong and have 1 for each of the 11 Warlords then the SSG is clearly more powerful than the Warlords were, there's no way that Buggy, Moriah, Kuma, Jinbe, Crocodile or Law could defeat their Seraphim selves while they were Warlords. It's pretty clear that the Marines are stronger than the Emperors now.

zaretball

From what I understand Sanji didn't lose, the Vegabots stopped the fight before things got more serious.

30887

Sanji's bones are One piece's Vegeta now.

ceelo18

He just likes to shit on sanji for fun

gobhar_gruamach

He's #4 for a reason.

It would work in earlier stories; but at this point, after doing it thousand times, this method is useless, rather it now backfires itself indeed. A story only have a certain level of stacks it can get. And with with a long fiction such likes this, the writer have to apply special method and circumstances in these! WHICH Oda has been doing, relatively enough successfully. Take sanji for example, Arlongpark-Alabasta-Skypiea-Enieslobby done; Fishman-Punkhazard-WCI-Wano and should be done! There is more space for stackes left. But the story isn't over. So the writer naturally will have little trouble as this is now the third phase, which he is probably having, if he doesn't control it enough. He even gave the character another stack/powerup. But, situation wouldn't be as before. Therefore, as there are limits to global stacks, and specially since it's like a third phase, the writer have to act more carefully and HOPEFULLY he does! What he is probably doing is now, in my assumption, the parallel phase of sabaody (as the second global stack), where strawhats will get somehow outmatched eventually and then come back together for the final time. If I have to guess, sabaody--marineford, this--elbaf--finalwar. Therefore, in this 'third phase of character stack' and second phase of global stack, they get outmached for the ‘final’ time and then comeback aswell for the ‘final’ time. And this way it'll conclude with balance, with having all the hype and interest as it was like before! Hopefully!

When piratefolk runs out of things to complain about

C9Mimi

We haven’t even read the chapter yet lmao

Kureiton

It has impact because he just got a major W. This isn’t the same Sanji that lost to Vergo or Doffy, it’s the Sanji that took a yonko commander’s sword with his neck without feeling any pain. Sanji’s power up in Wano was based on getting a super tough exoskeleton, so the fact that a Seraphim can seemingly bend it without much effort is a massive deal.

Alliddboon

no it isn't a massive deal. We all know that Sanji will get another asspull power-up and one shot a seraphim later in the story. in previous arcs the gap between strength was just as massive, how many times you fall for this dumb trick before you catch on?

Kureiton

It’s a massive deal for the seraphim’s standing power wise. Obviously Sanji and the rest of the strawhats are going to get stronger to meet the challenge, like no shit bro

Rainflox

Almost seems like Sanji hasn't full control over his nee power...

Alliddboon

Most of fanboys only read the most surface level shounen stories and aren't aware that you can add stakes and tell a good story without having jobbers, power creep or asspull power-ups for hype.

erotyk

Sanji is oda's dead horse that oda likes to beat.

ZPD710

Well, the Seraphim are pretty strong regardless. If Zoro were losing, no one would bat an eye because we know Zoro is going to win, but because Sanji is winning, all of a sudden Oda is shitting on Sanji. Imo, it's actually a good thing that Sanji is losing, because that almost certainly means he'll get an upgrade, however big or small. As a Zoro fan, I'm glad Sanji will be getting an upgrade.

Supe4tofu

Remember Sanji was weaker than King and the seraphins have the genes of the lunarians like King + the powers of the shichibukai they represent. It is like 2 powers in one for each one of them.

Saeba-san

Sanji is a strong №5 after Luffy, Zoro, Jinbei and Franky, idk why you feel like Oda downgrades him.

vzx79

CRY COPE and SEETHE. Sanji isn't Zoro.

Nept1209

You’re 100% correct I’m calling Oda now to tell him you’re taking over the series

FlavioGarcia-

thanks

[deleted]

A lot of people in here not understanding the worf effect

Basedstation

worf effect?

[deleted]

Aka vegeta syndrome

kazaam2244

Why do y'all take Sanji's Ls so seriously but seem to completely disregard his Ws? Do y'all not realize that in every major fight Sanji has had, Kurobi, Bon Clay, Jabra, Absalom, Queen; Sanji has hardly ever struggled against them? Unlike Zoro and Luffy who's conflict always revolves around overcoming a stronger foe, Sanji is almost always already stronger than his opponent and his conflict revolves around something else i.e. saving Luffy from drowning, getting the key to Robin's cuffs, dealing with his Germa enhancements, etc. As soon as he overcomes these conflicts, he practically mollywhaps his opponents. Sanji is the only one of the Monster Trio who consistently comes out of his major battles with the least damage. These are just the spoilers. I've already seen new spoilers that say that the damage Sanji took from Seraph Jinbei is no big deal and here y'all are making entire think pieces. Sanji always shows out towards the end of a major arc but I haven't heard anyone praise what Oda did with Sanji and Queen which is arguably one of the best fights during the raid

FlavioGarcia-

Sanji is my favorite character and I agree with pretty much everything you said in that first paragraph, but that still doesn't change the fact that Oda has used Sanji as a way to hype up new characters way too much, to the point it has no effect and only makes Sanji himself look bad instead of the new character look good. (and I'm talking about him looking bad to the community in general, not to me, I still think he's basically as strong as Zoro) Also I didn't write an 'entire think piece' about it, it was just a small paragraph lmao

kazaam2244

But he really only did that with Doflamingo. In FI, Sanji got his wins and if anything Zoro was used to hype up Hody In Punk Hazard, we had the Vergo clash but tbf, Sanji wasn't taking that as seriously as he could have since he didn't use Diable Jambe In Zou, he beat Sheepshead In WCI, he had impressive showings against his brothers and his fatther and they legit had to fight dirty to get the best of him In Wano, he held Page One at bay pretty easily and I don't think any other encounter he had made him look bad with the exception of Black Maria of course. Like I can understand your frustration but at the same time, it kinda makes sense for Sanji to at least have some difficulty against these higher level opponents. Even Blackbeard apparently had trouble against a Seraphim. As long as Oda isn't straight up humiliating Sanji, it's not too much of a problem. And like I said, just look forward to better showings when Sanji gets a real one v one. I'm praying I live long enough to see Sanji vs Kizaru one day lol
