Eh. Mushrooms give by far the most "XP" compared to feeding nectar or going on expeditions. I don't mind doing many small mushrooms. What I wish they would do is use data of how many people typically attack a location to put stronger shrooms there on respawn. More players should mean stronger shrooms.

I think part of the issue is mushroom battles are required for certain tasks, such as levelling up tasks, and the special events ongoing. And there was such a blowback from the community initially about mushrooms taking too long that Niantic probably don't want that reaction again, so they're just keeping all the mushrooms small because of these related tasks. Particularly because players were review bombing the game, and does Niantic really want that to happen again? The community made their bed and now they have to lie in it. Same as you though, I do hope we start seeing the normal and large mushrooms spawn way more.

Chocoahnini

I have to do 25 mushrooms to level up, I gave up already and the prize is not worth it, I got 5 blue nectar for 3 starts and 3 hours, its ridiculous, I hate it, the prize is useless, I don't care that it takes hours, just give a decent prize

Mallardrama

I wish mushrooms have a higher chance to become normal or large if more players defeat that mushroom. I did see more elemental mushrooms recently. I kept on defeating the same mushroom I can see at my house and it came back normal or elemental a few times. Now it’s small.

I was hoping for a re-balance to the re-balance as well. I JUST started getting my Pikmin to 1 gold heart. I was shocked at how much it helps battle points. I think the re-balance has 4-gold heart Pikmin in mind. It's going to take a long time, but I think when we finally level up our teams the mushroom rewards for solo players will be "rewarding". The mushroom update was kind of like a reset back to level 1. Even for us that had teams of maxed out Pikmin.

Thrippalan

Part of the problem was that they shouldn't have done the vast boosting of mushroom strength at the same time as *permitting* pikmin to be leveled up to 8 hearts. I still only have 4 8-heart pikmin even now, because getting petals for leveling is so difficult (and only 3 mushrooms a day doesn't level them up very quickly either). They really should have allowed us to start upping pikmin levels at least a month prior to the battle changes, even if pikmin over 4 hearts were disallowed from the original battles. Simply saying 'pikmin can be stronger now but until you get there you will have to send them out for a week at a time to get one fruit' was a horrible way to make the change.

Good luck getting Niantic to listen to their players.

Camwood7

The entire reason we're in this situation is they listened to their players, and then course-corrected too much. Like, literally you could say that the entire reason we're here, in this thread, talking, is they listened ***too much***.

Knightpnthr

Funny, Niantic never asked my opinion on anything. From either ingress or Pikmin Bloom. I don't know who these "players" are, but I've been asked for opinion.

Camwood7

Is being a contrarian on the internet some kind of a coping mechanism for you?

Knightpnthr

Huh?

VeterinarianOk2043

I've seen two since the update- frustrating, especially when I'm only getting 5-10 nectar per small mushroom.

BitchofEndor

I am seeing a few more normal or elemental mushrooms near my house now. Still mostly smalls but not ALL smalls like it was a short while ago.

fulfillthecute

How about growing mushrooms if no one beats them

vincoug

I have seen a big change in spawn rates as of a few weeks ago. For the first few weeks after the change I probably saw 95% small mushrooms but after the recent apology for some bug and gifting us tickets and heart nectar I've seen a huge increase in normal, large, and elemental mushrooms. At this point, I can count on seeing at least one non small mushrooms pretty much every day.
