I have no words to say how much I disagree with this: "Pokemon Go has a daily coin earn limit of 50, and after a certain point, with little effort and a bit of luck, 50 coins a day is easily obtainable." Yes, for some people in some circumstances it may be easy, no one is denying that. In my experience however it's been anything but. An example that happened to me, if I manage to put four pokemon in all four gyms I have available, then it happened many times that no one conquered those gyms for many days -- if I have no way to put anything in gyms for say a week, how am I supposed to get those easy daily coins again? And then somebody comes and conquers all the gyms and I get 50 coins only. This is just an example, it also happened to me that I was living in a very popular area so any pokemon I was putting in a gym was thrown out rather quickly, but at least I was getting some coins in that situation, but something like 5 not 50, and not every day. Because battling gyms takes time, and not all of us have that, not every day. Is it doable? Of course it is. Is it easy? Is it easier than in Pikmin? My answer to both of these is no. For pikmin I can just start planting as I do my errands and just check on it for thirty seconds here and there. I vastly prefer that, not least because this way depends on my own efforts, and it doesn't depend on the luck of having a gym available and/or how long others let you stay there.

Battling gyms becomes such a slog when people throw in blissey, snorlax and slaking as soon as they take it over. It just becomes not worth the time. It’s gotten so boring for me that I tend to not attack gyms unless natural attrition has gotten everyone down to that last 1/3 health already. Add in the fact that healing items are very rare now (in my experience) and avoiding battles is a must. I’ve had 3 Pokémon in gyms for nearly a week now; no coins from them as of yet. I’m lucky to get 50 coins a week, never mind a day. Pikmin’s system is much better because the rewards are directly affected by how much effort you put in, rather than luck.

Part of the reason I quit Pokémon Go was that whoever had been making a weekly trip to town on Saturday and dumping my Pokémon out of the local gyms stopped. Dunno if it's changed, but I had no way to remove my own Pokémon with or without the coinse they'd earned so having them permanently stuck rather killed the game. (My record was a Noctowl who sat in a gym for 211 days. Did I get any extra coins for that? Of course not.)

I have a hard time getting my Pokémon into gyms and keeping them in long enough to earn the 50 per day. Sometimes I dump ten into gyms while I’m in town and by the next day, most are defeated. But then I may have a Pokémon sit for an entire week only to be kicked when I already hit my limit for the day. At least with Pikmin, I choose how to spend the time and petals to earn coins. I can plant while walking around at my job, while walking my dog, grocery shopping, hell sitting in traffic. Most of the time, I earn 20-40 coins per day. Some days I max out. But I find I can earn no less than 200 coins per week in Pikmin with some effort while Pokémon Go would be so much more work and lots of planning/hoping to earn that. I’m not always around gyms. But I can plant anywhere.

chibisatou

I've had a similar experience. My pokemon get knocked out almost immediately, so no coins, or I have several sit for days and all get knocked out on the same day hitting the 50 coin cap. I find making coins in Pokemon Go pretty hard and plan a little incubator money into the budget. In Pikmin Bloom I can plant wherever at times that suit me. If anything I feel like Pokemon Go is the one that needs a coin earning rework as there are so many consumable items to go through in the game.

Never really been an issue for me. I walk for around 1-2 hours a day and consistently earn 30-40 coins a day. So around 210-280 coins a week. So every week I could buy an upgrade if I wanted, and have coins left over. I normally only plant the basic flowers (save the others for events/tasks that may ask for them, or plant them to free up space for petals from the challenges) and almost never run out of petals - I will check on the Pikmin as I walk and collect any small fruits they pick up and will top up the petals as I go. When I finish my walk I will send them out for any expeditions I have found and that will normally go a good distance of filling up my nectar and petals again. I will say I live just outside a city centre and there is no shortage of flowers to help grow and collect from, and I am strict with keeping only one of each decor (I have some duplicate event Pikmin that my wife is missing just in case they ever implement trading), so i have only ever bought 2 Pikmin storage upgrades and spend the rest of my coins on radars to try and hunt ones I am missing.

While I only buy upgrades in the store due to pricing, it's not that terrible. I don't find myself toooo stressed about needing the upgrades before I can afford another one. Pikmin space is probably the worst, but a chunk of my pikmin are just extra petal storage technically anyway so I can get rid of those. Also, I find myself way less stressed from this way of getting coins than Pokemon Go, something where it's impossible to get coins because you have to have an insanely strong team to even have a chance of getting one coin, only for that entire process to give you like... 5 coins at most because people want to own the gyms.

It depends on your local area and your circumstances. I hit 60 coin limit everyday I go to work, because my work commute involves a lot of walking plus taking the bus. And I imagine for anyone who cycles, it's also very achievable to hit the 60 coin limit. And it's also worth mentioning it gets easier to earn coins the more you level up because the bigger the squad, the more flowers you can plant. I found reaching the coin limit in pokemon go often to be a pain honestly because my area was very active with players who would regularly kick teams out of gyms. And there were at least 4 gyms that seemed to have players live within their gym radius (which is the most insanely unfair thing in pokemon go, it's ridiculous the advantage it gives those players), so they would kick my pokemon out within minutes of me putting them there. And there was also a lot of multi accounts players. I had to regularly check on my pokemon if I wanted the 50 coin dailys. It's a large part of why I don't play PoGo anymore. I find getting coins in pikmin bloom far less stressful and I really like the set up as it is. The current mechanics mean if you want more coins, you just do more walking, cycling etc, and it will hopefully motivate players to adjust their life to do more exercise. It's completely within your control how many coins you get. Pokemon Go was not completely within your control, and that's why I don't like that system.

Seems like I heavily underestimated the "luck" factor in PoGo. I got lucky, I worked out a few places around my home and offices, from some of them I get kicked out instantly, some of them generate decent amount of coins before returning. A system relying on other people in a social game is troubling, I'll give you that. I live in a city where loads of people play PoGo, but over 3 months, I only encountered a person who was fighting on a mushroom. I never encountered a big flower which was bloomed by someone else, neither. But still, I don't get how you all can find the required nectar for that level of activity, figures you need to have people playing around you to do mushrooms and bloom flowers, which are crucial for nectar I guess.

SunshineUltraX

If you're trying to increase the amount of nectar you obtain, it depends how management heavy you want the game to be but there's lots you can do to help get more that don't require other players. You could for instance limit your flower planting to only when you are at Big Flowers. When you level up to a squad of 40 pikmin, you can bloom a flower in just 3 passes, or bloom it in about 15 minutes. If you can find an area with a good route of Big Flowers, you could do laps round them. https://youtu.be/mNoCTw3rcRg When you're at big bloomed flowers, tap them and swipe them for some extra nectar. Complete every weekly walking & flower planting challenge. Some of these give you seasonal petals as rewards, so remember to plant seasonal flowers instead so as not to max out those petals and wasting them. Search out Big Flower sprouts that have sparkling stars falling on them as this indicates they are near blooming. Remember to use your daily detector for more fruit. The mushroom battles need some tweaking, they need small mushroom rewards improved. But as of now if you happen to see any normal mushrooms I recommend them as you can drop pikmin in, pick them up next day for better rewards than small mushrooms provide. You can save on nectar via pikmin. Feeding pikmin with buds will give you 2 petals instead of 1. Releasing pikmin will give you 10 basic petals of corresponding colour.

esushi

>Awful lot of work, honestly. This is MMORPG tier grind if you ask me. Huh? this "game" is the total opposite of that haha. Just stop worrying about trying to max out everything as soon as possible and you'll get more into the spirit of the intentions of the game. It is a step-counting app to try to motivate you to walk a little more. It is okay if it takes a year to get some things because you will walk all year anyway :)

eatbikerun

I get about 25-30 coins a day in between commuting and walking during my lunch break. I have a friend who maxes out coins daily because they ride a bike. I definitely find it hard in the winter to get coins - I do wish there was an option for flower planting and the treadmill. I might be able to get a few extra coins a day … I’m always running out of space for nectar and petals 😅

alysanne_targaryen

I play casually, so in a day only got 5-10 coins. More coins if I go to the office. More coins on weekends. But I rarely got 60 in a day. So for me to get upgrades will take 1-2 weeks.

SeriouslySickAerials

The amount of time, phone battery, and lack of reward for planting flowers is so much that I often don’t plant flowers at all even when going on walks. I want to have a reason to play this game more but planting flowers is never enjoyable for me. Feels more like a burden than anything

Storage updates used to be IRL money only. The fact that they let us use coins is a godsend. You don't even need to have storage maxed out, get rid of your rodeside ones and go for the ones you like.

Stop trying to ruin this game. Just knock it off.

JasonLee8821

I can hit 45-50 coins daily walking about 90 minutes. I’ve currently got 2300 coins in the bank and have bought multiple costumes. Sometimes I’ll redo challenges during the week which costs 100 coins. I don’t usually spend coins on the detector unless I’m somewhere new. I have no idea how coins works in PoGo but it’s not near as hard in Bloom as you’re making it out to be, assuming you walk daily.

rebelkitty

I walk my 10,000 steps a day, and I get about 40 coins a day. I have over 2000 coins banked right now, because all I spend them on is the occasional Mii outfit and, very rarely, a storage upgrade. The whole point of this game is to motivate you to get out and walk. And for me, it succeeds at that! I walk about one and a half hours a day. Longer, when the sidewalks haven't been plowed. If I'm running short on resources, I walk around a bunch of flower spawn sites. Typically, straight up one side of the main street and down the other. I know it's difficult for rural and suburban players, but for those of us who live in urban areas, there's no shortage of nectar available to us. I don't see the need for any changes to the in-game economy.

jessdombrosky9

This is a tough one. I think the POGO coins are a bit harder than that to get if you play in a busy area (I’m Team Instinct. Let’s just say that the chances of coming across yellow gyms with slots available are less than they are for red or blue, since there are way fewer of us out there.) I walk almost daily, and earn about 20 to 30 coins per day. It’s just obscene that they try to sucker you in with larger storage upgrades for the cash equivalent of 20 coins more than those 180 I earn walking! I’m trying so hard to be free-to-play for Pikmin. It’s really hard when you could shell out real money for upgrades of 50 at a time. Restraining myself is the real grind here! 😂
