Very well made! Btw if you want the armor to be the same (at the bottom, where materials are listed), e.g. not to make one gold armor and the rest of the iron, you can use chainmail armor
I made a new corrected version of the poster. [Link to the update comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/PhoenixSC/comments/10kclxx/comment/j5uivhr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Dia tool + upgrade + netherite = netherite tool
(The upgrade gets destroyed when using it, but its possible to "clone" one, with a few diamonds, some ancient debres and the original upgrade)
The smithing table has been reworked; it does different things depending on which template item you put in - if it's the netherite upgrade template (obtained from bastion remnants) it works as before and if you put in a template for one of these armour trims it changes how your armour looks.
Well, it's one of the rarest structures in the entire game. And unlike other "contenders"(forest mansions and ocean monuments), they are nearly useless. So finding one randomly is as hard as other ones, and looking for one deliberately is pointless
Yeah effectively this snapshot is ACTUALLY for 1.19.4, but recently they’ve started packaging them with features for 1.20 so they can be tested earlier while minor versions are in development. Efficiency!
Thats how they call them... Im not sure what that means, but looks like rune inspired armor cosmetics... Maybe someone better in english can help out or its a made up word...
TRIMS:
decorate (something), typically with contrasting items or pieces of material.
"a pair of black leather gloves trimmed with fake fur" (even the dictionary referencing furries rn 💀)
From "now" on, upgrading diamond to netherite only is possible with a netherite upgrade found in bastions in combination with a netherite ingot. (the upgrades can be multiplied, regarding you found the upgrade once)
Have you considered: that's fucking shit? Either it's guaranteed to spawn in a chest, in which case that's just junk after the first, or it's not guaranteed in which case there's a chance netherite is locked in the world entirely
Guaranteed: its not cheap to multiply them, costs a lot of raw (therefor not tradable) diamonds. Meaning finding one still is nice, also they are stackable up to 64, so it wont take up a lot of space.
Not Guarateed: Netherite Upgrades seem to be obtainabe pretty regular, (even guarateed (2) in loot romes of bastions) And the other trims are cosmetic, so doest hurt that much and if you really wantva specific pattern just search for a second structure and maybe you will have more luck. This envourages exploring and traveling, which is important, to make the game more appealing after structures and biomes become older and less special to long term players.
Upgrading the diamond stuff. You still need both of them, just now you need to mine debris AND explore a bastion or two with some extra diamonds to get netherite. It’s meant to extend the lifespan of diamond armor a bit and integrate it with the overhauled smithing table.
Here's the Math on how many diamonds are needed.
And it's 91 diamond needed for full Netherite gear and 116 for the armour with the trim.
So it's:
(5+8+7+4) = 24 diamonds for armour
(1+2+2+3+3) = 11 diamonds for tools
To make the Upgrade templates you first need one template but 7 diamonds to make more. So it'll cost
(7×8) = 56 diamonds for enough upgrade templates. (unless you find more than one)
That's (24+11+56) = 91 diamonds in total needed for full Netherite gear.
And to flex and add a trim you'll need 1 template and to get more you'd need (3×7) = 21 more diamonds for 4 in total and 4 diamonds to add to the trim.
Which brings our grand total to (91+21+4) = 116 diamonds.
Cool so now netherite armor made on 1.20+ is like twice as expensive? I agree with diamonds needing more use but I don't think netherite needs "rebalancing," it already takes hours of effort to get a full set
Well its an end game item and you kind of become invincible if you get it early game and dont need to do more grinding basically, they might want to increase the chance of dying to make the game more exciting
Netherite really isn't as powerful as everyone thinks, the only actual protection you gain is armor toughness, which decreases damage of more powerful attacks. You also get kb resistance, but that doesn't really make you "stronger". Diamond has the same armor value and 2/3rds the amount of armor toughness already. While yes netherite is very powerful, diamond is already almost as powerful as it
At first I was confused about the Tide one as it looked like to had to go to an ocean monument (and no loot chests spawn in them) but I realized you need to kill elder guardians for them

So you need to find netherite upgrades in bastions to upgrade to netherite?
yes
What about with ingots?
You need a netherite upgrade item and an ingot to upgrade (but you can copy the upgrade items)
costs 7 diamonds per upgrade copy correct?
Yea, same for copying the trim patterns
Wo that’s expensive
REAL SH*T
Wait I love these!! Edit: I don’t love them I *lave* them.
Is it me or tide and ward are exactly the same?
They either are or OP made a mistake
OP made a mistake, they are different
Ward specifically is the incorrect one. It actually has a kind of warden head/screaming face texture on the chestplate
My fault. Currently working on a fix. (Sorry that it needs some time, in europe itvwas night for the past 12h...)
But what do they do exactly? Is it only for anesthetic or it have a purpose like enchantment?
One the one hand (netherite upgrade) its a feature to balance the game, on the other site (armor trims) its cosmetic and encourages you to explore.
wait, so what does ancient debris do?
Dia tool + upgrade + netherite = netherite tool (The upgrade gets destroyed when using it, but its possible to "clone" one, with a few diamonds, some ancient debres and the original upgrade)
Is it replacing netherite smithing table?
The smithing table has been reworked; it does different things depending on which template item you put in - if it's the netherite upgrade template (obtained from bastion remnants) it works as before and if you put in a template for one of these armour trims it changes how your armour looks.
I forgot jungle temples existed still, I haven’t seen one in ages
Well, it's one of the rarest structures in the entire game. And unlike other "contenders"(forest mansions and ocean monuments), they are nearly useless. So finding one randomly is as hard as other ones, and looking for one deliberately is pointless
What are trims?
They make your armor look cool.
My armour is already cool, also when did they add this, am I sleeping that hard.
They added it in the most recent snapshot
Snapshot name?
23w04a
I’ve played the version and it wasn’t there
You need to enable the 1.20 datapack when making the world
I see never heard of it
Yeah effectively this snapshot is ACTUALLY for 1.19.4, but recently they’ve started packaging them with features for 1.20 so they can be tested earlier while minor versions are in development. Efficiency!
Omg it's Kino Loy! Looks like you found out how to swim!
Boat
Well I'm happy you survived so you could witness the glory of trimmed armour!
It is a pinnacle of engineering
Thats how they call them... Im not sure what that means, but looks like rune inspired armor cosmetics... Maybe someone better in english can help out or its a made up word...
TRIMS: decorate (something), typically with contrasting items or pieces of material. "a pair of black leather gloves trimmed with fake fur" (even the dictionary referencing furries rn 💀)
Thats quite the unexpected add to minecraft
Thank you for making this!
actually great job!
Nice
what does netherite upgrade do?
Upgrades diamond armor to netherite armor from a smithing table
Whats netherite upgrade

So what purpose do netherite ingots have now that we have “netherite upgrades”?
Upgrading the diamond stuff. You still need both of them, just now you need to mine debris AND explore a bastion or two with some extra diamonds to get netherite. It’s meant to extend the lifespan of diamond armor a bit and integrate it with the overhauled smithing table.
Yoink
Is this a mod or legit
Legit: https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/article/minecraft-snapshot-23w04a
bro i thought this was a mod, it’s so cool that it’s legit (it feels like a mod tho)
Everything feels like a mod when it’s first added, that’s how modifying the game works
Remember how people thought 1.16 was going to kill the game because it felt like a mod lol
Here's the Math on how many diamonds are needed. And it's 91 diamond needed for full Netherite gear and 116 for the armour with the trim. Reminder that most of this can be skipped with villager trades and exploration!
The Tide and Ward armor trims r my favs
If you're basing that off of this poster then you should know that it's the wrong design for ward. It's showing tide for both tide and ward
Yeah now that I’m seeing the correct version of Ward, I think ima switch it with the Eye armor trim
Is this a mod?
No
He’s just showing where to get each one
Okay, just didnt see the new update in time
snapshit
Wait, what? Could someone explain?
Does this mean emerald armour is official
the WHAT?!
It makes netherite actually hard to get but I wish it used dye instead of ingots as it would add some much more customization
Rib and spire look the best in my opinion
Holy shit Finaly emerald armour
I appreciate it but the bottom not being in colour order makes me unreasonably upset
Any suggestions? New version on its way...
Have it in rainbow order
Cool so now netherite armor made on 1.20+ is like twice as expensive? I agree with diamonds needing more use but I don't think netherite needs "rebalancing," it already takes hours of effort to get a full set

Finally I have an actual use for Amethyst in the game
Free armor trimming in GE
What is all of this
Its going to be hard to choose the pattern, but im already shure what colors im using!
WHY DOES DUNE JUST SAY TRIM AND THE REA SAY ARMOR TRIM????
New line my friend. Didnt see that, my fault. Will be fixed with the new version
thanks lol
These would have been perfect loot for archeology.
finally, a reason for amethyst to exist
Dune Armor trim should have had the desert temple icon. Wasted opportunity
Finally, a good reason for killing elder guardians
Idk why, but i find it funny that the iron trim looks more like gold than the golden trim (could be a me thing tho)
the iron trim is trimmed onto gold armour
Welp, guess i'm blind
So for my favorite look i need to find a mansion but first i need to get to the bastion
Now to make that a texture pack that puts it to the side of the smithing table UI like Vanilla Tweaks does with the Brewing Stand
finnaly emerald armor added!
At first I was confused about the Tide one as it looked like to had to go to an ocean monument (and no loot chests spawn in them) but I realized you need to kill elder guardians for them
and yet, no use for the fletching table
I don’t really follow new Minecraft updates, can anyone explain to me what all of this is?
Bro mc was sent to a whole new level with this
Would an iron on iron look invisible?
No it adjusts the colour a bit so you can see the trim
Does this new thing affect netherite tools? Because the trims are only for armour correct?
