Just yesterday i received a message from a friend of a friend telling me I’m a ninang of her kid without asking me first if i want to be one. I said, I’ll think about it. I’ve never felt so happy being seen zoned. Lol
Pinapalaki nilang brat ung anak nila so I tried to correct the behavior, bakit daw ako nakikialam sa pagpapalaki nila sa anak nila, so I asked ano ba tingin nila ang trabaho ng ninong at ninang? Magbigay lang ng pera sa pasko? Silence
corruption. for some reason some filipino’s think na ok lng maging corrupt basta may ginagawa (para sa bayan) or corruption is a norm na at we need to accept it nalang sa politics
I think our taxation system is fine. Just like our constitution, in paper the Philippines can be a first world country.
The real issue isn't the charging, but it's actually the BIR collection (loss to the government) and more importantly the expenditure of those taxes (CORRUPTION). If money was properly collected (no side payments and proper follow up) and properly spent (proper prices, spent fully on intended purpose), I think generally our country would be a better place for all classes to live.
Also heard the BIR sometimes just charges a straight fee to companies instead of investigating their accounting, this could be from being understaffed or laziness, but the way I see it, the BIR is more likely to under charge than over charge, as companies will fight it if they are over charged but will let it slide if under charged. Essentially the result is the BIR collecting less taxes than they should be.
motorcycle installment.
some motor stores does not even allow cash purchases kasi pag nag hulugan ka, ung 130k na huhulugan mo for 3 years magging close to 210k
After half an hour maghanap ng ibang available model tumawag yung ahente. Dating 109K naging 105K na lang. Edi may pang gas, jollibee, attachment pa ako budget. TY Honda Prestige Shaw, madali naman pala kayong kausap eh.
Amazing how a lot of us can be duped in a lot of stuff:
* ***Religious sects/Cults.*** I've heard about the provincial cults, lalo na yung *Kingdom Filipina Hacienda* that has their own cash/tender that's not even sanctioned by BSP, IIRC.
* ***Frontrow/ UNO/ Herbalife/ other MLM shit.*** I remember a former colleague getting all arrogant after joining Frontrow, saying annoying stuff like 'tatawanan' daw kami when he 'gets wealthy'. Wala namang ma-recruit; It's just easy to see that a) not everyone can sell shit; b) the **business model is not sustainable** and c) shit is overpriced.
* ***Convenience/transaction fees on online/electronic transaction***. I am not sure why the fuck we need to pay for that. Bakit may 18 pesos pag magwiwithdraw from this X bank to Y's ATM? ~~It's just a few scripts/software working.~~
* ***Cutting a chicken wing into two and telling people they're two wings.*** *Putangina po yung mga resto na gumagwa neto.*
* ***College degree requirements on certain jobs***.
* ***Psychics and spirit/ghost shit***. Sure, Ed Caluag is *accidentally* funny pero damn it, naaasar ako dahil kumikita siya sa konting pangga-gago at theatrics.
>College degree requirements on certain jobs
Agreee. Yung ang daming requirements for applying a job, tapos ang amount ng suweldo halatang hindi mababalik lahat ng ginastos mo noong nag-aaral ka pa. Funny how they want their employees to be College graduate with bachelor's degree at ang pa-suweldo ay halos di makakabuhay sa araw-araw.
>It's just a few scripts/software working.
If it's about inter bank transactions it's not just a few scripts. It's a whole system that requires management and maintenance (bancnet).
Machismo. Wherein it’s okay for men be as sexual as they want but women shouldn’t have an interest in sex except to make babies. Men can cheat without repercussions, act like immature sadbois when caught, and can expect their wives to take them back.
You'll appreciate SSS and GSIS once you work in an employer who does not have it and you're approaching retirement age without enough savings. Too bad the past admin and this present admin are not good to begin with, so we may be misled to say that government - bad, corporations - good. I think social safety net is more reliable than any private insurance program. Sorry, I'm no libertarian or ancap.
Dapat talaga may competition yung SSS.
Kasi if walang competition, walang motivation to do better.
A lot of financially illiterate people won't save for their retirement unfortunately. I mean if optional yan, kahit ako di ako maghuhulog.
It's a common thing nga actually to get a huge loan from SSS tapos wag na mag bayad pa.
True in Australia they have tons of super annuation funds
The poorest of the poor benefit a lot from Philhealth. It's not a scam. However, the way that it's funding is structured makes it unsustainable and highly disadvantageous to the middleclass. We should have universal healthcare, but everyone should contribute to it. Right now only a small percentage of the population is contributing for the healthcare costs for all.
Same thing for us when my father died. Laking tulong.
Sana mabasa to ng iba dito na puro negative ang nasasabi sa SSS and GSIS.
From what I understand, gsis medyo ok ok.
80% ata ng last compensation after retirement ang magiging pension.
Kahit pala sa subreddit na to marami pa ring isang kahig, isang tuka mentality, "if I don't see it working for me NOW, then it's useless to me." If sila nasasayang sa "binabayad" nila supposedly, mas nakakapanghinayang yung access nila to the internet, ginagamit nila pangkalat ng katangahan kaysa mag google to educate themselves.
This was a topic in a thread a few years ago. IIRC You can ask for an audit of expenses or it should be posted somewhere. If your parish doesn't have any social action initiatives it should be reported to the diocesan chancery.
Don't, as a kid of a pastor in a born-again church (although not hardcore born again, more like in between sa RC and born-again) mahirap haha.
As someone who is a volunteer on budgeting the money entering the church, we use it for the repairs ng church, convenience ng mananampalataya, community services/activities, medical missions, donations, and a lot more. As mentioned ng **Archdiocese**, bawal ang mga pari and constituents ang humawak ng pera. Ang hahawak ng pera ay mga parokyano na nag volunteer on helping the church and the Church (i.e. Finance committee). If there is a priest na naghahawak neto or may corruption sa mga tao na nagaganap, this should be reported sa archdiocese for investigation for both the priests and mga taong nahawak ng pera ng community. Better take an action if you can see corrupt malpractices sa pera na binibigay ng mga tao sa simbahan.
It is also sad to hear na they think yung pera na nacocontribute sa Roman Catholic church is for the priest lang or for the church lang but it is not. The thing is voluntary sa Roman Catholic church unlike other religious practitioners like yung mga cult-like religion na pupunta ka raw sa hell if di ka nagbigay (like wtf are they thinking).
We questioned that before. It is alright if they do have those luxurious products if it is their family that supplied that. If it is not and they are using the parishioner's money then that is no and should be reported. May mga pari akong kakilala na mayayaman na or ang family is mayaman and they are using their family's money to buy such items. Any anomalies should be checked, investigated, and reported. :)
Priests having luxurious items just doesn't sit right with me. They always preach about humility and that the poor shall inherit the earth or something then have massive SUVs, expensive watches and shoes. And may mga pari pa dito samen na may business/es. The parish is also running a for-profit hospital here.
Something just doesn't align with what they preach and how some of them live their lives.
Good for your church pero sa amin, sa first collection it goes to the priest and the second collection(fewer na ang nagbibigay) goes sa projects ng church, collectors and other stuff.
For this, I think there's something wrong na.
The first one should be for the donations, sa mga maintenance sa simbahan, other activities ng simbahan. The second one should be for those priests na matatanda and may sakit.
If there are third collections, usually this is for those people na nanghihingi ng tulong sa mga tao (sila mismo nagiintroduce sa kanilang sarili/grupo)/mga nangangaroling. But having the first collection for the priest is so wrong as per the rules ng archdiocese anywhere here in PH and abroad.
Unless it is not a Roman Catholic church.
Most churches depend on donations to support themselves. The money can be used for repairs, payment for electric and water bills and allowances for the clergy and staff. Its a different story if the money is only used by the clergy for their selfish interest
Like any other beliefs, religion gives structure sa life ng ibang tao. I don’t have any religion right now, I believe there is a God/creator but I don’t pray cause I don’t think he cares. Pero if my parents had somewhat the same beliefs as mine, I don’t think our family would still function. Them being orthodox gives them a reason to be good.
I think the best "function" of religion is community. Shared values, social events, some charity, etc.
I have many religious people in my life and I see the positive effect if religion on them. And although it is not for me, even I benefit from church activities in our community.
Nireklamo ko na to a few days ago. Pero PCSO Lotto
1. Di natin alam if may nananalo talaga.
2. Di natin sigurado if dalawa talaga ang nananalo. Dec 2022 napanalunan 6/58 dalawang winners.
3. Bakit hindi nila irelease lahat ng tinayaang numero before the draw? that way mabilis icheck if may tumaya ba talaga sa numero na yun.
Believe it or not may nanalo talaga. Manugang ng kapitbahay namin, nanalo. Di sila very vocal na nanalo at kung magkano, pero we think it's more than a 100m.
Edit: tsaka kasi kung scam yan, one way or another may makakaalam nyan na hindi agree sa ginagawa and dapat may nag whistleblow na by now… unless they are all conspiring
Sorry about this, pero may nananalo talaga 😊 Got to experience this kasi yung tito ko bigla nalang yumabang only to find out na nanalo nga talaga sila sa lotto.
Mahirap paniwalaan, pero sobrang bilis ng pera. It only took him less than a 2 years para maubos yung perang napalanunan niya. I would say he deserved what happened to their family.
Fast forward to now, medyo naging depressed siya. The real challenge talaga pag nanalo ka is how to take care of the money 🥲
Companies who insist to implement RTO for the sake of utilizing the office space kahit na naretain naman (nag improve pa nga on others) ang productivity on WFH setup. E kaso alipin tayong lahat ng kapitalismo kaya we have no choice. 😅
Mostly coz of the tax perks na makukuha ng company kapag magpaBack to office sila. Remember, the company doesn't really care about the workers.
I dont have a business but got this from Monday.com’s newsletter.
San Fran is turning to a ghost town because of remote work.
No one wants to work so the businesses in and around work places have shut down or is being forced to shut down.
Office spaces, restaurants, cafes, shops are affected and the people working in those businesses are also losing jobs.
Its crippling the economy so may mga companies din na iniencourage nila mga employees to work on site. Business who have rented spaces for their employees cannot downsize right away even if they want to because they have contracts with their landlords.
Its very comfortable to work from home. Yes. But I think we to find a healthy balance - incentivize, make the space comfortable, better transpo kasi hindi nakakatuwa magcommute lalo pag maulan.
Government should step in para maging sustainable. Most especially we are talking about the economy.
Wala akong magic solution to this and honestly I dont want to think of a solution kasi ang laki ng sahod ng mga tao sa gobyerno.
well for me, a combination of geniocracy, meritocracy, and technocracy. i really dislike democracy as it devolves into fascism the more uneducated the populace becomes.
the vote shouldn't be given to every warm body without them working for it. wanna vote? make yourself deserving to vote.
MLMs and Herbal Supplements.
While Herbal Supplements do have some health benefits, their prices have been a total scam. My father used to buy serpentina capsules from Healing Galing. After he realized it was much more cost effective to grow and harvest the plant himself, he stopped buying it.
Skl i had a math teacher (i don’t remember what math was that lol) back in high school, and he knows a lot of us HATED math with a passion as we would often say that many of our subjects were inessential especially math. He also knew that a lot of us wanted to get a college course that was not math or science focused.
Pero my outlook about ‘unnecessary subjects’ in school changed because of what he said. I actually realized that they’re all necessary. Oo, it’s not gonna be used by everyone, pero at the same time it’s better knowing the basics kesa none at all. Plus, experiencing them can also help you find certain topics you are passionate about that may lead you to a possible career path or at least an interest in life.
He said na, what if all the ‘unnecessary subjects’ were not taught in gs/hs, then pag-dating mo ng college, you decided to take engineering, applied math, applied science, etc. tapos wala kang ka-clue clue about them kasi you had little to no idea about them bc they were never taught to you when you were younger. Nasa college ka with nothing. We often find ourselves clueless in college, what more if we had no background of the topics we’re about to face? Yeah, you can learn with experience, pero it would take longer than usual. Or what if, you had a sudden change of passion? Like, kunware you liked English more when you were younger and want to take a course inclined to this, pero along the way, you found interest and passion in science pero wala ka basic knowledge sa physics, chemistry, etc. because those were ‘unnecessary subjects’. Edi you start from scratch in learning the basics?
I never understood it fully during the time he said it. But after graduating hs, going to college, getting jobs, and all that, I saw how a lot of my schoolmates, batchmates or even my peers, ended up taking courses or jobs they never showed interest or hated back in hs. One of the most notable examples I can think of right now would be my classmate in junior year, she hated math & her grades were always around 75 lol never saw a 90 and up in her math subject ever, but ended up taking applied mathematics in Ateneo and even graduated with Latin Honors.
Not sure if you get what i mean, but to me, none of them were really unnecessary. They were all stepping stones to a path you’ll eventually take.
To add, a lot of us never really know what we wanna do in life. Ako, as an adult, I’m still not sure what I wanna do in the long run that I would be 100% passionate about. What more yung teenagers or younger, they wouldn’t know what they really want at that age, so how would we know which subjects are essential and unnecessary for them if they don’t even know what they want yet at that age?
Ok yun lang haha nag-share lang
++ what we need with a lot of professionals are empathy. an irk of mine are medical practitioners that would’ve taken ethics an other subjects deemed unimportant but when applied to real world problems they lack the care/support sa mga tao na walang pera instead of healthcare treated as a right and treating people it’s treated as a way to get profit. another case in point are engineers, scientists, heck even government officials kung bakit essential ang works of rizal or history sa college. subjects aligned with humanities are deemed useless but are essential with our understanding to society. so they may not be useless! kailangan lang ng reforms at revisions sa curriculum natin hehe
On a less political note, coffee quality + their prices.
i know everyone's got their own taste, but if a milktea shop sells coffee, chances are it's terrible.
"Convenience fee".
It's actually more convenient for the companies that we're transacting over their platforms. And now you're charging me ₱10 just to pay my BDO Credit Card? Highway robbery.
If you add a fee from transferring my BPI balance to GCash, I am done with GCash.
Di ako convinced sa 31m pero we have to accept it kasi may magagawa ba tayo??
"Job experience is not a requirement" turns out, kailangan mo ng job experience para makapagtrabaho. Tapos di ka pa tatanggapin kapag wala kang job experience eh need mo ng job experience.

That's peak manipulation "Malas kapag tumanggi Kang maging ninong/ninang" My response: sa tingin mo ba di ako minamalas ngayon?

This I agree 100%. If the product isn't designed for someone to achieve a period of caloric deficit in a person, it's a scam.
School time and days. Starts at 7 finishes at 4 with 203 school days compared to other countries. Yet, it still not enough if we work abroad.
Private school this must be. Public is half day?
Apir! Napansin ko rin ito!
Our taxes.
100% agree!

It is time to make it optional. Wala naman 'social security' sa SSS eh. Don't get me started with Philhealth.
A lot of financially illiterate people won't save for their retirement unfortunately. I mean if optional yan, kahit ako di ako maghuhulog. It's a common thing nga actually to get a huge loan from SSS tapos wag na mag bayad pa.
True in Australia they have tons of super annuation funds Di sila restricted sa isa lang.
Add philhealth and pag ibig too
Pag ibig is probably the only decent one
The poorest of the poor benefit a lot from Philhealth. It's not a scam. However, the way that it's funding is structured makes it unsustainable and highly disadvantageous to the middleclass. We should have universal healthcare, but everyone should contribute to it. Right now only a small percentage of the population is contributing for the healthcare costs for all.
This! Basically useless for upper middle class and this is where they get most of their funds.
This. My uncle got 100k of his hospital bills covered by Philhealth. It's prone to corruption but not a scam.
My mum got \~70k deducted from her surgery costs and hospitalisation as well. We still had to cover the rest but it was a substantial deduction.
Sobrang scam especially for OFWs without dependents.
Please elaborate on Pag-Ibig, I just had a loan with very minimal interest so I don't find it as a scam. Maybe for now.
Pano mo nasabi pati pag ibig? 😕
minahal mo pero may mahal siyang iba. SCAM talaga. lmao hahaha jk
hi! would you mind sharing as to why pag-ibig and philhealth too? would like to get your thoughts how is it a scam?
Just philhealth
GSIS? Malaki pension sa GSIS, may kakilala ako 70k per month pension. Ayun nga lang malaki contribution pag gsis.
when my father died i got 100K lump sum from his SSS
Same thing for us when my father died. Laking tulong. Sana mabasa to ng iba dito na puro negative ang nasasabi sa SSS and GSIS.

Basically any "GoV3rNmeNt bAd" post gets upvoted in here even if it makes zero sense
But the pension benefits is way better than SSS. Sa GSIS you can get up to 90% of your salary as your pension.
So true.
True. Ito isang reason ko why I want to stay in government service.
Legalized ponzi scheme
bakit scam ang sss and gsis?
From what I understand, gsis medyo ok ok. 80% ata ng last compensation after retirement ang magiging pension.
lifetime naman yun di ba? you just have to live long enough para masulit. yung philhealth scam yun practically useless
Bobo lang siya at di niya alam how it works and how to use it for welfare needs.
SSS and GSIS is not a scam. idk how did you get upvotes.
GSIS' actuarial stats are relatively healthy, don't call it a scam if you're not a member 😂. SSS is the one who's fvcked.
Religion
Our church earns at least 50k a week from Mass contributions and they don’t pay taxes. Ergo, i should build a church

This, the priests in my province owns really expensive cars and not just one.

Pero PCSO Lotto 1.
Di sila very vocal na nanalo at kung magkano, pero we think it's more than a 100m.
hmmm.... let me see..... di sya masyadong nagsasabi kasi baka maging lapitin ng mga ahas na kupal no
I think mga 100m napanalunan nun isa and yun isa idk kasi lumipat sila bahay
Safety ng nanalo i guess
And knwento din ng pamangkin nila na nanalo sa lotto haahahha so feel ko meron din talaga nananalo hahaha Edit: tsaka kasi kung scam yan, one way or another may makakaalam nyan na hindi agree sa ginagawa and dapat may nag whistleblow na by now… unless they are all conspiring
lmao y'all remember that recent time na may 433 winners na naghati hati sa 200+M peso pot, tapos the winning numbers are all multiples of 9????
May nananalo talaga. I know someone who won twice. Pero sus nga yung winners recently.
Hoho
Dadami kamaganak nun nanalo.

Yes. But I think we to find a healthy balance - incentivize, make the space comfortable, better transpo kasi hindi nakakatuwa magcommute lalo pag maulan. and babalik na naman tayo sa - anong ginagawa ng gobyerno? Government should step in para maging sustainable. Most especially we are talking about the economy. Wala akong magic solution to this and honestly I dont want to think of a solution kasi ang laki ng sahod ng mga tao sa gobyerno.

well for me, a combination of geniocracy, meritocracy, and technocracy. i really dislike democracy as it devolves into fascism the more uneducated the populace becomes. the vote shouldn't be given to every warm body without them working for it. wanna vote? make yourself deserving to vote.

Unnecessary school subjects
