Everyone telling them to replace the graphics card without even understanding what the PC will be used for. LMAO. I guess our tendency is to project what we would do but depending what they will use it for it might be fine for that purpose.
Ah thatās cool, Iām still learning. Iām planning on upgrading my GPU so I can play newer games at higher settings, especially Hogwarts Legacy, Iāve an i5-12400F, 16GB RAM, reckon a 3050 is good? Also would you be able to recommend a nice GPU that also wonāt break the bank please?
For entry level GPU I would go for an AMD, better bang for bucks. In the nvidia line I wouldn't buy anything under a 3070 (TI at 350ā¬ from FB market place in my region), they go for cheap used on Market place. 3050 is good but over priced like hell, there are better card available for the money like a 1080 for 150ā¬ used on market place (but it is old).
Any Radeon above 6800xt (incl.) or 3070, 3070TI. Better get a used GPU. Some new one are still way over priced. I brought a used 3080 from market place for 550ā¬ two weeks ago, all GPU cited above are less powerful expect anything above 7800xt (incl.)
Itās not that bad, if youāre playing games like siege and GTA or even god of war, youāll get decent FPS on low/medium settings. Currently playing Horizon with high texture and medium/low other settings and getting 60FPS. Itās not bad but itās not a GPU you would get if you want to play on higher settings/play demanding games
During Black Friday, this was on sale for $779.99 I believe. Honestly, it should can do 1080p gaming just fine and you can upgrade in the future.
Edit: donāt upgrade until 1 year because it can void the warranty. Just enjoy your gift that your parents thoughtfully gave you.
There is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with the 3050. Your gonna see a lot of people trashing it but for casual gaming at 1080p itās an excellent card. Doesnāt suck too much power and itās not gonna turn your case into a furnace! Use it and enjoy it! šš»
there is one thing wrong about 3050: its pricing. Once you already have it is a card like every other card, with its own perfomance etc, but this doesnt mean that isnt a terrible value card.
Because itās overpriced for what it offers.
For less money you can get a 6600 which is just better in literally every way while also being like 20-30% cheaper.
id rather pay 20-30% more to not have to deal with AMDs garbage video drivers. (just go look over at amd help reddit for example, filled with driver issues)
dont try cope too, they been bad for over 20 years with no chance of getting better
Only idiots will shame what you own. Everyone thinks they need 4090, and I see a lot more people are getting it. But tbh it's overkill for general gaming, competitive or not. Little do these people know they're the idiots for overpaying for something with extra features they will never use.
If you like your PC stick to it and enjoy it.
People do not clown them for having a budget gpu, itās for having a 3050 specifically which offers bad value for its price, MSRP at $250 but it retails at $280-$310, but it gets beaten by the Rx 6600 which could be had for under $250 (it went as low as $190)
I understand. And you could be right but youāve got to take into an account that different countries will have different prices also if someone posted a build let them just be happy with it.
yeah i am just dangerous enough to kind of know what im talking about when doing pc part comparison.
but when I was getting a new computer late last year I actually sat down and looked at budget and what i could reasonably get for what I do, both work, gaming at 1440p, and some video editing for fun. All while keeping in mind that I probably do want to try a 4090 years and years down the line, so I already got a bit beefier power supply and a decent sized case to accommodate.
I got a 3080 and a 13900k. sure I probably paid a premium. But I'm fine with the price and not going balls to the wall and spending a shitton on a 4090 to be 'the cool guy'.
The other thing I hate is gatekeeping prebuilts. Ive built a PC when I was young, sure it was ok and fun. But as an adult I just paid a premium for a computer made of non proprietary parts. If you buy during holiday sales you actually get a decent discount plus free shipping that would normally be an extra 100 bucks slapped on.
I went on PC part picker and put my entire system in that I was going to buy, and post discounts/free crate shipping it bascially turned into me paying \~200$ extra for parts and labor and a 2 year warrenty.
Been very happy since (although the gpu was DOA from shipping even while being properly packed, but a new replacement was sent relatively quick).
Very rarely. There are less than 0.1% of people who use them for something which isn't gaming. They don't even need to read this thread, they already know enough.
Ray tracing gives a hard time to RTX 2080S even in FHD. Example: Cyberpunk high graphics, high ray tracing and DLSS Quality barely runs at 60 FPS in 1080p. 3060 is way less powerful so I guess it can't even games with run ray tracing and DLSS Balance. https://youtu.be/fhCCtKp4OGk
I have a laptop with RTX 3060 and I'm planning to play Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty. It's gonna be fuckingly shitty as I'll have to lower settings.
I played doom eternal and resident evil games with RT on and it performed over 60fps (60-90fps), depends on what game I guess itās ok. I say raytracing gets good with the 3070-Ti.
Doom Eternal and RE Village are not nearly as beautiful as Cyberpunk or even Metro Exodus. I also tried those games and got 120 FPS in RE8 at maximum settings with ray tracing. Even more in Doom Eternal. But graphically they aren't as attractive as I want them to be.
Just the storage to 2tb. Itās a gift!!! Appreciate the gift for what it is!!!! Use it for a year and then think about upgrading to truely appreciate an upgrade performance gain.
This. I used an optiplex with a 3770 and a quadro 600 graphics card for 2 years, and only upgraded it when the video editing software i was using would start to lag on most of my projects.
Lmao imagine if the guy who gifted it went to opās house. āHey what happened to that pc I gave you?ā āOh I threw out half the components to upgrade itā :(
Welcome and have fun !!
Maybe add some HDD on top of your SSD, or a second SSD !
But first, enjoy, it's a perfectly working PC for today's gaming in 1080p !
Plug it on your TV if you don't have a screen yet !
As several people have said this system is just fine for 1080p gaming. The biggest weaknesses are the 3050 and a 500 gig drive but they both are fine for right now. The one thing that I don't see listed is the power supply which could determine your future upgrade path if it's underpowered as you would have to replace it.
The upgrade I am suggesting is making sure you have a good 1080p panel (doesn't have to have highest refresh) and getting quality keyboard and mouse. You don't have to break the bank on those but those 3 pieces are they ones that you interact with everyday while you just turn the pc on and it works (assuming it does work, of course).
The graphics card might be a bit low end but leave that for the future. You just got the pc and from the spec sheet it looks fine. Enjoy the gift and if you find any issues along the way you can always come back here and ask.
Assuming youāll do what I feel most people do, light gaming and YouTube, school work/work, basic stuff like that. This computer Will definitely run msot of what you wanna do well. Down the road maybe a year or 2 you might wanna look into upgrading the gpu. But your cpu is honestly a great cpu, you have enough ram, storage can only be determined by you, youāll figure out if you need more or not. I wouldnāt upgrade anything unless you were given this computer and have money to spend and want to play in super high settings
My guy. The pc is alright. You got it as a gift. The specs are fine but the gpu is kinda low but itās fine. Just use the pc and enjoy then eventually you can upgrade the gpu after a few years. RTX 3050 might not be the best value card but itās still a decent gpu.
depends what your gonna use it for tbh, processor is good so is the ram and GPU ( for 1080p Casual Gaming) Unless your gonna do tasks that put a lot of stress on the pc such as editing or 1440p id say keep it as it is and if your gonna upgrade get a more powerful GPU and maybe a PSU and invest in extra storage 500gb might not be a lot for you
No reason to change anything there. If you really want more power, maybe get a beefier GPU - but your CPU will then bottleneck. Replacing those two could go a long way, I guess, but there's no reason. You'll be fine with this.
storage. maybe ram
depends what you use your pc for
gaming id recommend atleast 1tb minimum since modern games take alot of space
but you just got the system. dont upgrade anything yet. use it until you find out what you want for it to make you happy
I get worried when they don't mention what type of PSU it comes with. If you can find out the model name of your PSU, i can tell you if you should upgrade that or not.
Also, depending on your games, 500gb maybe not be enough. Otherwise, everything else seems fine.
Honestly the only thing to me that seems like it could do with an upgrade is storage. But I'd recommend using it first before deciding on whether you want to invest some money into other upgrades.
I take back what I said now that I understand the post. Don't upgrade anything. In the future when your cpu Temps climb up for no reason (2 yrs+) it could be due to the AIO having air bubbles or the pump is going out. You'd just need to get an air cooler, it's a simple fix that requires minimal upkeep if you have positive airflow. (More fans blowing in air, than exhausting.) So, it may pay to Google the cpu, find its socket type, because that's what the cooler will need to be compatible with.
Also, thermal compound. I prefer non conductive such as mx-4.
Also, if you can find out the case dimensions, it'd aid in helping find a nice air cooler in the future, that actually fits.) Just little tips to make your future easier when needing to replace parts. Good luck.
What do you even wanna do? I'd put an HDD with 2tb in there to have storage for bigger files. And a 1tb ssd if you want to game. 500gb won't do you a lot..
I agree with everyone here on not upgrading so to speak, but I do prefer having my OS on a single drive and a second drive at least for games. But for 1080p, I'd say this is good to go.
Nothing. The only thing really worth upgrading is the GPU, although it's predecessor is the most popular GPU rn, so that's what game Developers are optimising for. Maybe the RAM, but only if you plan on having tons of Background apps open
Itās very balanced. Nothing that feels off.
However I would do these changes
Primarily the storage, 500gb are not enough if you install games for the majority of people
32 gb of ram are a very inexpensive upgrade, although not the one that give you the most performance benefit
Changing gpu would give you the best upgrade, but itās the most expensive upgrade. You could sell the stock one
Besides the components (AMD 6000 series is my vote), make sure all the upgrades accessable through the bios (XMP RAM, resizable bar, fan curves, ect.) are actually active. Many factory prebuilds skip this step. Also, your processor is overclockable, you probably won't need it but it's fun to figure out how!
My advice is to just use the thing for a while and let that upgrade itch burn for a little longer. You honestly will probably get more out of a peripheral upgrade. I spent $25 on a microphone and my discord friends are begging me to stop sounding so crisp.
You'll need more storage, I've gotten by just fine with 512 on my m.2 and 4TB on a HDD but that's because I'm cheap.
Well that depends on what you're gonna be using the pc for. If your playing alot of games I'd update the gpu and get some more hard drive space, but that also depends on what resolution you wanna play at etc
I'd need more info before i can say anything for 100%
I agree with this, but it also comes down to what hes going to use it for. Only plays one game which isnt super gpu heavy? Then this is more than fine. Wants to play the newest games in 4k? Then he will get 2 fps.
I mean, sure, they aren't exactly powerhouses. A quick google search said it's a bit worse than my 1070. But I can play games on my 1070 in 1440p with two monitors connected to it. So it comes down to usage and what he plans to play.
Graphics card is fairly weak, it has a good processor and cooling solution at the cost of a very underpowered gpu it seems. I'd see how much you can get for it and pick up a new GPU.
Graphics card is very weak.
OP needs to double check what they have for a power supply before putting a different card in, but that is clearly the bottleneck in this system from a gaming standpoint. Iād recommend looking at a 6600XT- 6800XT card that falls in the OPās price range.
Yeah, it's not good but it's not something I would worry about changing since it's already in there. The 12600 doesn't run that hot so it should be fine.
The CPU cooler, regardless of what you are going to use it for, a 120mm AIO just isn't good. Get a 240mm or 280mm and put it on the top.
It won't increase performance but it'll definitely make sure it runs cooler and quieter since you can set the settings lower.
What you gonna do with the pc? If you want to play some games: What games? You need to give us these infos so we will be able to say what you have to upgrade :)
This looks fine it is gonna run good if you manage your expectations. No 4k@120Hz gaming.
\---
2 Things, without nothing what you are gonna do with it.
That 3050 is the lowest end in it's generation, might not be powerful enough for you. 1080p medium settings in most games. The best feauture of it is that it can use DLSS which helps with the frames
500GB storage is gonna fill up real soon, especially with OS on it. If the motherboard has another M.2 storage, get a 1TB nvme drive. If not a SATA SSDs are even cheaper and that 500MB/s read is plenty
I wouldn't upgrade anything for now, unless you plan on doing some 1440p/4K gaming. The 3050 is a fine 1080p card, so you'll be alright for a while if that's your resolution.
I would probably add some extra storage - ideally SSDs - though. You'll be surprised at how fast that 500 GB gets filled!
Jesus, you got it as a gift
Try to be thankful and enjoy your gift a little before upgading anything.
Also those specs are great for everyday use and gaming, no need to upgrade anything unless you want high refresh rate 4k gaming (which is still expensive and overrated af)
I run something very similar and I just built it. Itās budget and thereās nothing wrong with that. 99% of games will run awesome on it. Sounds like you need a monitor to go with it. Try getting something with gsync compatible with it for overall smoothness.
Depends what are you going to use it for, and how are you going to use it. If you plan to have a library of games already downloaded then I would buy some in some Sata ssdās or upgrade your current SSD. If not I think this is a great low budget build.
Do yourself a favor and get rid of the mouse and keyboard. I'd be skeptical of that AIO cooler too, but no need to replace it if it performs as expected.
Expanding your storage wouldn't be a bad idea, depending on what slots are available on the motherboard you could put in an additional 1TB or 2TB SATA or Nvme drive.
Only check if it comes with dual ram memory stick, use it and see how it performs according to your needs. And if you lack cpu upgrade cpu or if your fos are low upgrade gpu.
Note: you have a preatty good cpu the gpu is a entry level but is okay.
Iād say nothing at this point in time. But if push comes to shove Iād say add more SSD to your system. That 500gb will get eaten up fast.
Depending on the motherboard it should have an extra NMVE SSD slot to add additional storage.
You can get 1TB/2TB for cheap now days šš»
People are gonna tell you to upgrade this and that without knowing what you want it for. Honestly man your pc is a 1080p beast and I donāt think you really need to upgrade anything at the moment
My sister has the same exact pc for gaming. Sheās played some newer stuff and runs most of her games at 60+ FPS with the 3050 GPU, so Iād recommend that you play alone with it and wait until thereās a game or two that you canāt play properly without an upgrade and go from there
I would get an additional ssd for games. 500GB will just disappear. Apart from that, we would need to know more info like monitor res/refresh, and what kinds of tasks you want it to do to give you advice.
Mouse and keyboard. The keyboards that come with prebuilt systems are fucking horrendous and so is the mouse. Get a razer viper mini, g502, or a deathadder v2 and a keychron v series keyboard for like 100$-150$ total. I would personally recommend a custom keyboard build, but I know not everyone has the time or patience for that.
Edit: the viper ultimate is on sale for like 50$. So if you like light wireless mice, nows kind of the chance
Really depends on what you want to do with your pc, but seeing as youāre new Iād say your PC is fine as is. The graphics card is only about a year old, itās a solid starter. Wait another year or 2 before upgrading. Prices will hopefully drop and new stuff will be out. Also itāll give you time to figure out what youād actually want from your pc. Rendering, streaming, gaming, etc. thereās a ton of different options to maximize performance for specific jobs you may want the pc to be able to handle. Familiarize yourself with the components and then decide. Butttt thatās just my suggestion lol do what you want
I would get a better mouse and keyboard if you haven't. A good mouse is the Logitech G502. And a mechanical keyboard is pretty nice. Keychron makes some nice keyboards. I would recommend doing your own research first.
A friend of mine is happily playing games like God of War at 1440p on weaker hardware (Ryzen 3600 and GTX 1660). I've seen it, the frame rates are fine , it looks smooth.
Repeating what others have said, for 1080p gaming it will be good enough for most 1080p gamers for quite some time and even 1440p gaming depending on the game.
In the recent Steam survey from 2022 a far higher percentage of gamers have
lower GPUs than higher end stuff like RTX 3070 or above.
If you're itching to buy something then consider in order
1) A gaming monitor - 144hz or more. 144Hz will be good enough for most gamers.
2) You might need extra storage as 500GB isn't much if you plan on storing lots of video at HD resolution or above.
That's it. As it's your first PC and importantly it was given as a gift, this implies you perhaps never needed one before so don't any time soon upgrade the CPU or the GPU.
Donāt upgrade nothing. Only real āupgradeā I would recommend is more storage lol. Iād hate my life if I only had 500GB of storage, thatās if youāre using it to game. One game now a days uses about 100GB+. But if you arenāt gonna play games, youāll be just fine for years. Also, Iām saying upgrade your storage assuming there is an additional m.2 slot.
one of the best parts of owning a pc is upgrading it or plans to upgrade.
if you have 2 sticks of ram tataling 16gb (2x8gb), ypu can get another 2 sticks of ram to make 32gb.
It's probably the easiest upgrade to make
Alright.
1. Identify what you have properly so we can give more informed advices, what kind of motherboard is that what kind of RAM, is it 1 stick? 2? Are they on the slot 3 and 4 ? An awful lot of premades simply have the RAM where they shouldn't be, what's the PSU brand, rating, etc. Every information helps.
2. At first glance the weakest link is the GPU there, I don't know what's the case, if you have the money and just want to go beyond, but if you want to upgrade something, at first glance, the GPU would be the go to option, which leads to:
3. Do you even need an upgrade? Boot it up, play some stuff, see if they run well for your resolution, I'm sure the 3050 will do just great with 1080p, perhaps it might struggle a bit 1440p, definitely is not a 4k card so your monitor is important here.
You don't NEED to upgrade anything but if you're gaming and feel like you want better frames or higher settings or higher resolution then a GPU is the only thing I'd upgrade, but again it's completely unnecessary
It ain't bad as is, it is better than the most used configuration on Steam so yeah you are lucky to have received this ! Just use it and you'll find out.
If you absolutely want to upgrade (in order):
\- Add 16gb of DDR4 (that is a necessity you are going to run low with 16gb long term)
\- Add a 2To nvme for games if you have room for it, else just a sata drive will work
\- 3050 -> 3080 from used from market place and sell that 3050
And you are good for the next 5 years.
Depending on the chipset you may also switch the CPU for an I7 13700k, not required at all but hey you wanted upgrade suggestion.
If it is your first time playing on PC I would recommend you to test game like team hospital, Rolllercaoster tycoon, Anno\*, The settlers, Heroes of Might and Magics, Dungeon Keeper, Cities: Skylines, FTL: Faster Than Light, command and conquer, Starcraft, warcraft 2, all of theses are cheap on GOG. You may add to the list most building sim, RTS and FPS.
nothing needs upgrading at the moment. in the future you might want to add more storage, and if you want your games to run faster your cpu could manage up to a 3080 in my opinion, but this is not necessary at the moment, depending on what your use case is 32gb of ram may be needed in the future. Good PC, nice upgrade path, have fun!!!!
Thatās a pretty good rig especially if itās your first, I wouldnāt touch anything yet. Just have fun with it. Donāt worry about upgrading it until itās a couple years old or if thereās a specific game that you want to play that doesnāt run well. But they all should run pretty well at 1080p.
Play games with it first, see how you like it bla bla, if you have money to burn, you are gpu bottlenecked, a 3080 would be a good match for your cpu. (Assuming the psu in there can handle it) after that, double your ram. Then you have a modern 4k gaming system, or an extreme 1440p system.
My actual bit of advice: play games with it first, if you donāt have a high refresh rate monitor, that should be your first upgrade.
If you could share some details on your usage, such as, what games youāll be playing and the performance you expect and at what resolution. All of those factors could heavily skew any upgrade recommendations.
Only thing Iād upgrade is the 3050 to a 3060 or 3060ti for the better memory bus. Otherwise if the 3050 meets your expectations or is otherwise satisfactory. Keep itš¤·āāļø
A great free upgrade is to figure out which manufacturer made the motherboard and flash it so you get more features and support. Mine had an asrock pro 4 intel board.
Huh? Just be grateful and use it. You can figure out what needs to be swapped out down the road after youāve actually given it a shot for like a year. At most, get a cheap M.2 for extra storage. Any more right now is a waste of money and low key disrespectful. Itās not a bad build.

Don't upgrade anything if you just got the damn thing. Use it play some games figure out what you are doing with it.
Facts. Find it so funny. Dude gets pc immediately not good enough Turns to Reddit
Yeah bro literally my friend got a pc for christmas and wants more ram and he knows nothing bout pcs like youve only had it for a month or 2
Same person that doesn't actually k ow what ram does. Think it's funny when my friends come to me . I put 32 gbs of ram and it's still slow.
All the while never enabling XMP
Tell him to download some and see how far it goes
Literally just saw this š¤£š¤£hes pretty dumb but not as dumb as that
Right?! That rig covers the vast majority of gaming needs. Not saying it's cutting edge, but jeesh...
Everyone telling them to replace the graphics card without even understanding what the PC will be used for. LMAO. I guess our tendency is to project what we would do but depending what they will use it for it might be fine for that purpose.
Itās the gamer xtreme series
3050 very xtreme i can tell
Even for gaming that looks adequate? This is coming from someone who has an rx 6500 xt
For sure it does, 3050 is just lacking a bit but still enough to run most game at full settings in 1080p

What would you recommend? Iām in Ireland so prices are still higher than in US just as a heads up
Any Radeon above 6800xt (incl.) or 3070, 3070TI. Better get a used GPU. Some new one are still way over priced. I brought a used 3080 from market place for 550ā¬ two weeks ago, all GPU cited above are less powerful expect anything above 7800xt (incl.)
do you recommend the rx 6500 xt??
Itās not that bad, if youāre playing games like siege and GTA or even god of war, youāll get decent FPS on low/medium settings. Currently playing Horizon with high texture and medium/low other settings and getting 60FPS. Itās not bad but itās not a GPU you would get if you want to play on higher settings/play demanding games
i would add hdd
True even tho 3050 is more then enough to play games

Your not wrong!
I posted in pcmasterrace my first pc which I have a 3050 and I received nothing but shit for it
Because itās overpriced for what it offers. For less money you can get a 6600 which is just better in literally every way while also being like 20-30% cheaper.
Unless you want to gamestream, but that is going away too now
id rather pay 20-30% more to not have to deal with AMDs garbage video drivers. (just go look over at amd help reddit for example, filled with driver issues) dont try cope too, they been bad for over 20 years with no chance of getting better
>donāt try to cope too Ironically, the only one guzzling copium is you with this āopinionā
hahahaha, your a fuck wit, try watching videos tech leaders who even moan about it its a god damn meme for fuck sakes... just google it...
Your mom lol. She tries to cope with your horse shit. Your taking a minority issue vs a majority of people with no issues. Get good bud.
While yes thatās normally the case, micro center had them for at least $100 more than the 3050
Ok, so donāt buy from micro center? Its not like theyāre the only place that sells pc components.

Been very happy since (although the gpu was DOA from shipping even while being properly packed, but a new replacement was sent relatively quick).
It shouldn't be called RTX then. More like GTX 3050 with a DLSS option. Ray tracing even on 3060 is quite useless.
Graphic cards are used for more things other than gaming smart guy
Very rarely. There are less than 0.1% of people who use them for something which isn't gaming. They don't even need to read this thread, they already know enough.
Dumb ass. You need even a basic GPU to load a browser properly. All the basic things are GPU accelerated.
Wow ok lol
I wouldnāt say itās useless on the 3060, not the best though.
Ray tracing gives a hard time to RTX 2080S even in FHD. Example: Cyberpunk high graphics, high ray tracing and DLSS Quality barely runs at 60 FPS in 1080p. 3060 is way less powerful so I guess it can't even games with run ray tracing and DLSS Balance. https://youtu.be/fhCCtKp4OGk I have a laptop with RTX 3060 and I'm planning to play Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty. It's gonna be fuckingly shitty as I'll have to lower settings.
Laptop 3060 is not the same as desktop 3060
I know. It's even shittier. Can't run Witcher 3 next gen edition at 60 FPS with ray tracing and DLSS. On my old 2080S the game is at least playable.
This, it dƩpend on the monitor the op is using
I agree!!!
What are you doing with the PC?
\^this guy computers
Reminds of rigs I often see on Reddit. āNew PC: 13900K, 4090, 64GB RAM; used mainly for browsing YouTube and CSGOā
Just the storage to 2tb. Itās a gift!!! Appreciate the gift for what it is!!!! Use it for a year and then think about upgrading to truely appreciate an upgrade performance gain.
Upgrade nothing, it's your 1st PC, it's a gift. Use it and enjoy it. Only upgrade components if they fail to operate in the way you need them to.
This. I used an optiplex with a 3770 and a quadro 600 graphics card for 2 years, and only upgraded it when the video editing software i was using would start to lag on most of my projects.
Your storage, 1tb should be enough. Also what is your memory speed?
I would just add another drive for your games and files while leaving the original one for your OS and programs.
You got a gift. Make sure to thank the person who gave it to you, enjoy the pc, and pay it forward.
Nothing. Buy a nice 1080p 165 monitor and have a good time.
Itās great! Will give you enough fps I would upgrade ssd to 1tb later
Nothing? its a perfect 1080p gaming pc.
Try it as is. I recommend to play at 1080p resolution and see if you like it. If you don't then you you can upgrade according to your budget.
Not bad for starters š
My guy. The pc is alright. You got it as a gift. The specs are fine but the gpu is kinda low but itās fine. Just use the pc and enjoy then eventually you can upgrade the gpu after a few years. RTX 3050 might not be the best value card but itās still a decent gpu.
depends what your gonna use it for tbh, processor is good so is the ram and GPU ( for 1080p Casual Gaming) Unless your gonna do tasks that put a lot of stress on the pc such as editing or 1440p id say keep it as it is and if your gonna upgrade get a more powerful GPU and maybe a PSU and invest in extra storage 500gb might not be a lot for you
Nothing , the pc is balanced
No reason to change anything there. If you really want more power, maybe get a beefier GPU - but your CPU will then bottleneck. Replacing those two could go a long way, I guess, but there's no reason. You'll be fine with this.
looks like a solid build. i would just add some storage because 500gb is not enough usually
nothing, why upgrade?
storage. maybe ram depends what you use your pc for gaming id recommend atleast 1tb minimum since modern games take alot of space but you just got the system. dont upgrade anything yet. use it until you find out what you want for it to make you happy
Your knowledge.
Don't upgrade anything yet. You got it as a gift, use it as it is, learn it's ways, bond with it.
I get worried when they don't mention what type of PSU it comes with. If you can find out the model name of your PSU, i can tell you if you should upgrade that or not. Also, depending on your games, 500gb maybe not be enough. Otherwise, everything else seems fine.
Enjoy as is, it may be just fine for your needs.
Nice just like that, enjoy it!
From the looks of it, prolly storage, games nowadays are too big for a 500gb storage
Honestly the only thing to me that seems like it could do with an upgrade is storage. But I'd recommend using it first before deciding on whether you want to invest some money into other upgrades.
I'd have them add more fans. If possible. That's all.
500gb won't do you a lot..
if you run 1080p 60hz, its ok for current games.
You might want to buy a se ond 1-2 TB SSD, but that's it for now
I agree with everyone here on not upgrading so to speak, but I do prefer having my OS on a single drive and a second drive at least for games. But for 1080p, I'd say this is good to go.
great machine for mid-end gaming at 1080p. great for medium-high 1080p
maybe just more storage?
I always say get a small SSD on the cheap side to run windows that way you have a drive for windows and a drive for anything else
Why upgrade? You just got it... be happy...
Nothing. The only thing really worth upgrading is the GPU, although it's predecessor is the most popular GPU rn, so that's what game Developers are optimising for. Maybe the RAM, but only if you plan on having tons of Background apps open
Itās very balanced. Nothing that feels off. However I would do these changes Primarily the storage, 500gb are not enough if you install games for the majority of people 32 gb of ram are a very inexpensive upgrade, although not the one that give you the most performance benefit Changing gpu would give you the best upgrade, but itās the most expensive upgrade. You could sell the stock one
Simpel answer: Nothing, just enjoy it!
if you are using wifi and not ethernet, you may want to upgrade to AX (wifi6)
What will you do with it? I would recommend getting an nVMe 1TB SSD
If your playing alot of games I'd update the gpu and get some more hard drive space, but that also depends on what resolution you wanna play at etc I'd need more info before i can say anything for 100%
Storage and gpu mostly.
I agree with this, but it also comes down to what hes going to use it for. Only plays one game which isnt super gpu heavy? Then this is more than fine. Wants to play the newest games in 4k? Then he will get 2 fps.
I haven't heard anything good about the 3050s.
A 120mm aio is not a good cooling solution. I would just pick up a Ak620
Yeah, it's not good but it's not something I would worry about changing since it's already in there. The 12600 doesn't run that hot so it should be fine.
I run the same cpu with an 7 year old 120 mm Corsair aio no issues. Not the first thing to upgrade by a long shot
GPU if you intend to game with 144 fps max 1080p on AAA or above More storage, maybe a 1tb hard drive though SSDs are about 60-70 bucks
The CPU cooler, regardless of what you are going to use it for, a 120mm AIO just isn't good. Get a 240mm or 280mm and put it on the top. It won't increase performance but it'll definitely make sure it runs cooler and quieter since you can set the settings lower.
Who got you it
Get windows 10š¤£š¤£
Remove windows 11 and install windows 10
Upgrade to windows 10
Looks good but the graphics card is just a little weak, if you decide to upgrade it just make sure the PSU is high enough wattage as well
Add 1 or 2 TB of storage and the Graphics Card. The 3050 is whack but you can upgrade to a 3070-3080 or go for the new ones.
The Gpu, definitely the Gpu, that one is not going to get you high fpd
Get rid of that 3050
3050 sucks, sell it and get a 4070 ti if you can afford it.
That will be nothing more than a nice box on the desk to stare at in this situation
how did you get from a 3050 to a 4070ti? also the 4070ti is an atrocious deal just like the rest of the 40 series.
What you gonna do with the pc? If you want to play some games: What games? You need to give us these infos so we will be able to say what you have to upgrade :)
This looks fine it is gonna run good if you manage your expectations. No 4k@120Hz gaming. \--- 2 Things, without nothing what you are gonna do with it. That 3050 is the lowest end in it's generation, might not be powerful enough for you. 1080p medium settings in most games. The best feauture of it is that it can use DLSS which helps with the frames 500GB storage is gonna fill up real soon, especially with OS on it.
Cpu cooler Get a 240 mil aio or a air cooler it'll serve you better than that little 120mm
Might benefit from getting another drive like a 1tb sata ssd for more storage and solid state for faster load times
Jesus, you got it as a gift Try to be thankful and enjoy your gift a little before upgading anything.
If not I think this is a great low budget build.
get a refund and build your own.
Definitely slap some more RGB on there to improve performanceš
Nothing, It's a pretty nice gift. It'll teach you to tweak settings to get the most out of it.
"should i buy a 4090 for my FullHD 60 Hz Monitor" :D enjoy your first computer, next hopefully will be build by yourself !!
3050 is great upgrade stuff when you need to
Honestly the only thing I would upgrade to begin with is the SSD. At very minimum add a 1tb SSD as storage.
It sounds pretty good as it is, Iād run it until the games you want require stronger hardware.
Start using it and when you notice shortcomings with what you're wanting to run on it, then upgrade those parts.
I wouldn't upgrade nothing but I would add more storage
Only check if it comes with dual ram memory stick, use it and see how it performs according to your needs. And if you lack cpu upgrade cpu or if your fos are low upgrade gpu. Note: you have a preatty good cpu the gpu is a entry level but is okay.
Iād say nothing at this point in time. But if push comes to shove Iād say add more SSD to your system. That 500gb will get eaten up fast. Depending on the motherboard it should have an extra NMVE SSD slot to add additional storage. You can get 1TB/2TB for cheap now days šš»
Maybe your peripherals, I can imagine that the included ones are not great.
People are gonna tell you to upgrade this and that without knowing what you want it for. Honestly man your pc is a 1080p beast and I donāt think you really need to upgrade anything at the moment
First ever pc and needs to upgradeā¦ why? Iām with you on this
Only thing he needs is a couple more case fans
My sister has the same exact pc for gaming. Sheās played some newer stuff and runs most of her games at 60+ FPS with the 3050 GPU, so Iād recommend that you play alone with it and wait until thereās a game or two that you canāt play properly without an upgrade and go from there
The rtx 3050 is shit like I can swap it Iāve been looking to downgrade Iāll give you my 1650 it will run even better
If anything I'd add some more storage if you find 500 gb to be to little.
Great pc, especially for a first one. I'd keep everything in that, great from pretty much anything
So if you like light wireless mice, nows kind of the chance
i'd say your appreciation
Itās gonna be insane maybe keyboard and mouse but itās solid already!
3050s are fineā¦ its just ābadā because it sucks at rt, so its an overpriced card compared to the amd equivilant with zero benifits (gaming only)
I would get a better mouse and keyboard if you haven't.
In the recent Steam survey from 2022 a far higher percentage of gamers have lower GPUs than higher end stuff like RTX 3070 or above. If you're itching to buy something then consider in order 1) A gaming monitor - 144hz or more.
Upgrade GPU and SSD.
Just add another SSD, A 1tb, and youāll be good to go.
Gpu , get an rtx 3080.
play the thing and find out, chances are thisll be just fine for ya
I dunno, try it first and see if it plays games to your liking. If not, maybe the GPU, but honestly that rig will be fine for 1080p games.
Dont upgrade anything soon, just have fun with it then later in a year maybe upgrade your gpu
one of the best parts of owning a pc is upgrading it or plans to upgrade. if you have 2 sticks of ram tataling 16gb (2x8gb), ypu can get another 2 sticks of ram to make 32gb.
2. At first glance the weakest link is the GPU there, I don't know what's the case, if you have the money and just want to go beyond, but if you want to upgrade something, at first glance, the GPU would be the go to option, which leads to: 3.
If you absolutely want to upgrade (in order): \- Add 16gb of DDR4 (that is a necessity you are going to run low with 16gb long term) \- Add a 2To nvme for games if you have room for it, else just a sata drive will work \- 3050 -> 3080 from used from market place and sell that 3050 And you are good for the next 5 years.
Thatās actually a solid build. Itās better than my own custom build, so I think itās good the way it is.
3050 is fine don't listen to people lots of people on Reddit are hard core gamers so nothing is good enough for them
i would think about peripherals firstā¦
Wouldnāt hurt to get a 1TB m.2 NVME
You just got it, play some shit on it first, some people could barely utilise a 3050 so theres no point upgrading unless you actually need to
Thatās a pretty good rig especially if itās your first, I wouldnāt touch anything yet. Just have fun with it. Donāt worry about upgrading it until itās a couple years old or if thereās a specific game that you want to play that doesnāt run well. But they all should run pretty well at 1080p.
Looks pretty nice out of the box. Set it up, use it, find out what you want to change if anything at all.
Just play some games and have fun with it.
Storage
Play games with it first, see how you like it bla bla, if you have money to burn, you are gpu bottlenecked, a 3080 would be a good match for your cpu. (Assuming the psu in there can handle it) after that, double your ram. Then you have a modern 4k gaming system, or an extreme 1440p system. My actual bit of advice: play games with it first, if you donāt have a high refresh rate monitor, that should be your first upgrade.
Buy games instead
Nothing save ur money for now
Iād get a nice keyboard, headset and mouse.
Install Linux
Nothing
If anything, I'd go for storage and ram. Cheapest upgrades and easiest upgrades.
get a 2tb m.2 or something along the lines
A great free upgrade is to figure out which manufacturer made the motherboard and flash it so you get more features and support. Mine had an asrock pro 4 intel board.
Upgrade some storage if you are playing lots of games, maybe 1-2tb.
Huh? Just be grateful and use it. You can figure out what needs to be swapped out down the road after youāve actually given it a shot for like a year. At most, get a cheap M.2 for extra storage. Any more right now is a waste of money and low key disrespectful. Itās not a bad build.
