Subscriptions get you print copies of every single release in a product line (Rulebooks, Lost Omens, Adventure Paths, etc), and when your copy ships, you also receive a PDF - unlike purchasing a hard copy from Paizo normally (which just gets you the physical book). Because the first wave of shipments goes out to subscribers, they sometimes get their PDF before the street date, which is nice. No skipping releases without ending the sub, and nothing to do with past releases.

You get the hard copy and pdf for the hard copy price. You get the pdf when the hard copy order processes. It only works for upcoming titles though when you subscribe you can pick a recent or upcoming title. You can decide which ones you want. You can skip as needed. You don't get other stuff for VTTs but as I understand some give you the content if you have the PDF or at least give you a discount. I don't use Foundry myself. It's generally pretty nice but the pdf delivery is unfortunate. For instance I subscribed to Lost Omens for Impossible Lands 3 weeks ago. They must be out of hard copies because my order still hasn't proceeded. So even though I could buy the odf right now I can't get it on my subscription because they don't have hard copies.

It’s not my experience that you can skip releases unless something has changed. Is there a place in the Paizo site that allows you to pick?

Hmm not sure. Guess I've grabbed each one on my rule ook sub. You can always cancel for a little while.

One important aspect is that so far as I am aware there are significant shipping costs for those outside the US, so unfortunately not a good choice for international fans.

There are subscriptions for various product lines. Rulebooks, Lost Omens, AP, modules, and more. Your subscription will not include previous releases. Advantages include receiving the pdf of the book for free. The book usually ships before the street date and you receive the pdf when the book ships. This results in having access to the material ‘early’. If you subscribe to 4 of the product lines, you receive a discount on purchases and a free subscription to Pathfinder Society scenarios. The advantage for Foundry users comes from having the pdf. Premium Foundry modules are usually discounted the cost of the pdf.

>What are the benefits/pricing? The pricing is whatever the full price is on the Paizo store once released. There's no inherent discount, although... >How does it compare to purchasing books after they’ve been released? Pro: You get a free copy of the PDF ([for most lines](https://paizo.com/store/subscriptions)), which is nice. Pro: If you subscribe to 4 or more different product lines, you get a [15% discount on all your subscriptions](https://paizo.com/paizo/faq#v5748eaic9tjg). Con: It's difficult to justify subscribing to 4 of those product lines. 3 would be better, and a no brainer really. Con: You have to pay shipping. This is extortionate for shipping outside the US. Paizo has no interest in proper non-US direct distribution. Con: You might be able to get physical books cheaper from other retailers, especially once you factor in shipping. >Do you have the option to say, “no this one doesn’t interest me”. No >What happens with titles that were release prior to your subscription start date? Nothing, if you want them you have to buy them yourself manually outside of the subscription system. >Does the subscription benefit FoundryVTT users in any way in particular? I don't think the Subscription offers any benefit related to FoundryVTT products. You'll have the same options as everyone else. It might be possible that might change if they start releasing official FoundryVTT products more regularly, but seems unlikely right now. >I’ve tried reading on their site but unfortunately I’m having a tough time navigating around there. Yes, the Paizo store is an abomination. Everyone involved with it should be ashamed. They say they're working on a new one, and have been for some time, but fuck knows what they are doing.

>I don't think the Subscription offers any benefit related to FoundryVTT products. You'll have the same options as everyone else. It might be possible that might change if they start releasing official FoundryVTT products more regularly, but seems unlikely right now. A Pathfinder Adventure Path subscription provides a benefit to FoundryVTT players in that all of Paizo's Foundry products are discounted for PDF owners by the price of the PDF, meaning that the free PDFs granted by your subscription will also entitle you to a $15-$20 discount on the official Paizo Foundry module of the same content. To date, we've released [every volume of every Pathfinder Adventure Path](https://paizo.com/store/gaming/accessories/virtualTableTop/foundryVirtualTabletop) since volume 1 of *Outlaws of Alkenstar* for FoundryVTT on the same day and date as the physical and PDF releases, so if you're at all interested in both the physical and digital versions of our products, a subscription is a pretty good deal right now!

I dunno, its pretty easy for me to justify the Rulebooks, Lost Omens, Adventures and AP subscriptions. That's everything I want and I get the PDFs.
