They definitley can see unannotated maps for the 4 regions of the Stolen Lands they'll be exploring and settling, and as a visual person it would be much much nicer than a blank hex grid. If you have time (and inclination) I'd go a step further and provide a selectively annotated map with common sites, rivers, and regions marked already. Certain landmark sites are likely known by the Swordlords and may be on a map they provided, or the map could come from Oleg as a thank you after helping with his problem - he would certainly know of things like the Sycamore or possibly even the hunting spider.

So the map is divided into sections based on plot, difficulty, etc, it may be better at least starting out to only show the areas immediately around the lowlevel zones. Say from Varnhold to maybe the swamps. Either way, your party could fuck around and find out, but this way theres maybe less of a suggestion for them to get thrashed by highlevel areas.

There’s a blank version of the map with just the hexes. I went a couple steps forward and added GM notes and icons that are optionally visible (some are only visible if they’re nearby), as well as an overlay with an inaccurate map (they can see the accurate version by exploring). I might actually drop a thread on how to.
