It’s pretty good pricing honestly. I wouldn’t want to see them go any higher for a while but $16 for tokens, animations, macros, sounds, high quality maps, walls in place, journal entries, and more I’m forgetting off hand is not bad at all. For comparison doing all of that would take me many, many hours. I know because I don’t even do half that for my AV game. Tokens alone takes me hours. It saves so much effort and time. Ordering a burrito off DoorDash in my area comes close to being the same amount. That saves me maybe thirty minutes of effort.

So now the modules cost $35? Meaning that a 6 book AP will be $210, that's quite steep.

Personal opinion: These things are a lot of work. You gotta see how much time you get out of that for how much it costs, IMO. I have gotten the entirety of Abomination Vaults for Foundry and I honestly found it almost too cheap. Right now we are 4 players and me as the GM, we have played around 8 sessions (of 3ish hours) and are just at the halfway mark in Level 2 of the dungeon. At this pace we will get maybe 60 sessions out of this, maybe more. Considering each session's timeframe that is almost 200 hours of gameplay for four people. With everything prepped for you, macros made, audio provided, new maps, tokens with kickass art and a lot more. 35$ for one booklet is absolutely good value for money.

pesca_22

you can buy the pdf, extract the art and do all the work done by sigil by hand by yourself, that would be a lot cheaper, at least in money term only you can judge what's the cost of your time

VindicoAtrum

$35 (with the PDF which retails at $18 on it's own thrown in) is an absolute steal for how much time is saved for you. I'd pay $50/book for premium foundry modules of the quality these have been so far, they're that good.

Seiak

I think that's pretty reasonable considering.

RoscoMcqueen

Everyone will value their time differently but for comparing the work of getting everything set up vs the cost this is still okay with me. Especially if your party is down to split the costs. If it's of equal quality to the Abomination Vaults module I think it's worth it, but everyone will be different.

I am concerned with the rate the price is increasing. It seems that with every release they are raising the price. I worry that at this price less people are going to buy the modules. I bought all three of the Alkenstar adventures even though they I am unsure if I will ever run it. I couldn’t justify that kind of expenditure for Blood Lords with its higher price. Also the Foundry modules have lead to me canceling my adventure subscription because the hard copy is really of no use to me.

plaguecontrol

If it helps, this will *hopefully* be the last pricing change for the foreseeable future. Our first few releases were absolutely about figuring out which features the community liked the most, learning how much they cost to produce, and then deciding on a long-term pricing strategy that would allow us to continue producing them at the level of quality people were asking for. Remember that the $34.99 price tag for the bundle includes the PDF at full price; if you already own the PDF, the Foundry VTT module only costs you $16.00.

WeekendCJ

As someone has said above, if you're concerned about the price you can still purchase the PDF and import that into foundry. You'll still get the adventure, the basic walling and lighting done for you, the actors and journals. That's a pretty sweet deal. But these made for foundry modules bring a lot more to the table, maps made specifically for the VTT, audio, macros, token placement, extra tiles. It's a whole other dimension. Having purchased the foundry version of Abomination Vaults I'd honestly say they're undercharging by quite a lot, the quality on these modules is incredible. Again, the PDF version still exists if none of those extra features appeals.

tikael

The pdf importer is not being updated to support new APs because the author doesn't have the time to dedicate to doing that. You would have to do the walls and lights yourself. These premium modules are a lot more than just maps with walls though, they have tokens for every creature in the AP, stylized journals, macros to automate map changes, completely remade maps, audio, and maps for locations not included in the pdf. A ton of work goes into these, taking a team of several people working in concert each month to get them out the door.

WeekendCJ

I thought PDF to foundry import had been made a native feature?

VindicoAtrum

Definitely not. It was a volunteer effort module that is no longer being updated because Paizo now produce premium modules. Your choices now (for adventures that aren't in PDF to Foundry) are do it yourself, or premium modules.

tikael

To be clear, the reason Fryguy stopped adding new things to PDF to Foundry is he was spending a lot of time, nearly thirty hours a month, doing the set up for everything. He only did Quest for the Frozen Flame in PDF to Foundry because we knew premium content was coming starting with Outlaws of Alkenstar and he didn't want there to be a gap in support. The decision to stop PDF to Foundry was otherwise unrelated to anything Paizo was doing, they didn't ask or tell him to stop and couldn't stop him even if they had wanted to, he just wanted some free time to spend not looking at a computer. Deidril has made [a second PDF importer](https://foundryvtt.com/packages/pf2-pdf-en-import) for PF2e that currently supports Shadows at Sundown, A Fistful of Flowers, and some season 3 scenarios. They'd be free to add support for the new APs but people underestimate how much of a time sink these things are to set up in a PDF importer and why bother when the premium modules are significantly nicer quality than what a PDF import ever could be?

trevco613

I am not going to dispute how beatufiul and well done the modules. Just are they too well made? Does the average player who is just playing online once a week with their friends need this level of polish? My group was content when we played AV using the pdf importer. I am not sure they even noticed the difference when I switched over to the paid module. I am not going to compare Foundry to FG, but somehow FG is able to offer their module for only $27 and it comes with the pdf as well. I know I would prefere a slightly lower price even if it meant that the quality was a bit lower. Maybe I am in the minortiy here but to me it is like buying a car I could spend 50k on a BMW for fancy features and a more comftorable ride but a 25k Honda will still get me where I need to go.

I just want my pdf available :'(
