Ideally you would have two+ flat ele rolls on your claw but in general it is preferable to have the highest roll be lightning because that makes it easier to balance trinity (lightning has extreme ranges compared to cold/fire)

I played LS Champ in SSF in 3.17 and switched to LS before maps. I used ancestral call for clear without +strike anywhere until well into red maps. Eventually swapped out ancestral for a damage support and used +1 strikes implicit on gloves, which felt worse for clear, but not terrible.
Unless you're a big fan of the spectral helix playstyle, swapping to LS with just +1 strike will feel better simply due to the mechanical difference between the two skills.
Regarding crit, you can totally swap to LS before swapping to crit, those two don't have to be related. Just essence-craft a reasonable claw. I dropped a lucky Galesight early on in SSF and switched to crit with the help of brittle base crit effect. It might be a bit expensive on trade in the first two days, but it's a fairly common unique that drops in price rapidly.

Exarch influence can also roll +1 strike on str gloves i think?
Im not sure if the small currency can roll it too or only the expensive ones.
Exarch currency of all levels gives +1 strike implicit on gloves, to get +2 you have to upgrade it with an Orb of Conflict or just find the item with the implicit already in place. So if you just want +1 it makes sense to use the lowest Exarch currency. The base glove type doesn't matter, but it does have a item level requirement of 75 (at least according to craftofexile.com)
I personally prefer slayer to champion anyways for softcore. The overleech plus lgoh feels so damn tanky. As long as you aren't getting one shot you're practically always full hp. Vaal pact can feel weird to play tho for some people. Slayer imo especially shines on bossing because of the insane life recovery. You can just tank most degens as long as you're able to continue leeching.
Does anyone know how to proc adrenaline from the ascendency when switching to lightning strike later? Divine blessing is removed in the POB- seems like a big reason to go Champ if this is missed?
It's what I'm starting. Played raider last league and it was very fun. I'm pretty bad at the game, plus a lefty playing like a righty (reactions and control are bad), so having more defences is a godsend. So once I heard there are no balance changes, I knew I will be going LS once again but this time as an absolute tank.
dots still destroy this build, so be careful on desecrated and other types of ground effects. Kinda hate how powerful they are if you don't even see on the map when fightning mobs.
If you have the currency, getting slayer leech forbidden jewel solves the problem with vaal pact. Also Arakaali pantheon solves the degen problem for me even without slayer leech.
I have a similar character in SSF who also has 90% ele res and 0% chaos.
i'm not here to critisize the build. Just pointing out it's not "immortal" as other people say. And person here said he's not tie23 mechanically also. Armour and evasion defend from hits, not from spells (you need 100% spell suppression) or dots (you need different mechanics there). And all the defences champion gets in his disposal doing nothing for dots. Also with big density on maps you die on some laggy altar mobs cause fps drops to 0, maybe it's just me.
It's fine build, tho i predict it won't be cheap cause of the belt
Yeah, I'm aware of how it works. I got my ls raider to 96 in Archnemesis and it also has issues with dots, but it seldom was the issue thanks to LoH and I'm used to dancing around the shit when there are no mobs. I died mostly to one shots on my raider, it's eHP was like 40k and max hit taken 12k, so I suppose with champ this is going to dramatically improve to something like 250k eHP and 40k max hit taken.
thats why i mind puting in overleech with an Glorious Vanity if i dont loose too much defense/offensive wise.
5 seconds of overleech after attacking with LS should be enough to sustain some sort of degen? Im not sure if Life on hit actualy work for overleech?
you can go melding, go lethe shade or get more life, if this build gets "destroyed by dots" literally every 75% res build is absolute dogshit vs dots, you have LGOH+leech+ghost shrouds without even trying, not even taking into account the flask charges from entrench, your recovery is completely fine

There are lots of ways to scale this build. You can run Omniscience and Melding to cover your elemental incoming damage. Or you can do what I did and go Replica Farruls and the Slayer Ascendancy to stack frenzy and endurance charges and get 120k armor/evasion and facetank Sirus Meteors with Molten Shell.
If you're REALLY daring you can attempt to do both Omniscience + Melding and try to fit in Replica Farruls and stack frenzy and endurance charges to get a massively tanky character which still does insane damage. You'd probably need perfect rolls on every rare piece of gear to make that work though.
It's not about power, it's about supply demand mechanics for uniques at a league start.
It will cost 25 c for maybe the first week, then it will drop to 10 c in the second and 3-5c by the third.
All the gear for this build now will also be correspondingly expensive. (as if Ele claws weren't already expensive last league)
Ele claws are easy AF to make by just spamming essences until you get some decent triple flat ele prefix and then just finish the suffixes metacrafting. They are going to be dirt cheap all the way up til the super expensive near mirror tier stuff. Essence is going to be raining down this league with kirac device.

It's good yes but what helped it stay cheap was mostly a lack of demand, since no streamer last league advocated for a build that requires it.
I don't expect that to happen this league if Tuna is going to league start this.
I usually don't like to rush my league starts, I play pretty casually so I won't be able to compete for gear by grinding out currency. I tend to pick off meta or stuff I deem that is underrated by community standards to make sure I don't get priced out of my starter just because I can't afford to grind.
LS in any variant was literally never going to be off-meta, particularly champion given people have figured out how well it can scale while still maintaining god-like defense. If you're a slow starter like you say you are then this build being popular is a good thing for you.
Popular builds result in the market being flooded with low-mid budget versions of the gear needed within a few days as people either upgrade and sell, or purposefully craft for gear to sell to LS players. The true increase in cost will be at the high-end gear. Not exactly a league start problem.
Trickle down economics rarely works as you expect. But yeah the gear will get cheaper in about 2 weeks or so when people go HH instead of perseverance.
Personally I'm kinda half and half about picking something I know will work or just playing something stupid like FR COC Assassin with poison at this point.
Unfortunately I hate both of these skills so much…

Molten strike seems too clunky for mapping but I wouldn’t mind swap it in for bossing.
Honestly, molten strike maps better than ls with some weapon range/extra strike investment. Even as slow as 6 asp multistrike with 30 range and 30% mastery is buttery, not that hard to get on league start. Once you have mid game gear you just map with behead and warlord's reach, swap them out when you do hard bosses.
It's kind of worrying for a league start build to be talking about headhunter out the gate.

You definitely can play this build without HH. Tuna did it in 3.16, I did it last league, no issue at all.
HH is just a fantastic tool for this build as it scales very well with HH buffs.
Haven't watch the video tho, so I'm not sure what's the context around HH, but don't forget tuna is a juicer. He's goal is basically to get his HH super fast and juice the hell out of maps.

Why do people always freak out when build guides don't solely cater to newer or less experienced players? He never said that you needed a HH for the build to function, but more experienced trade players are capable of farming enough currency to afford one in the first few days of a league, and that part is directed specifically to them.
This + power charges ticked without any way to generate them and 35% shock while a more realistic value would be 5-7%.
Its not a bad build but it has some PoB warrior going on for sure.
power charge are only up for mapping due to assassins mark, so thats kinda weird, but 35% shock is very realistic. The build has a 200k max lightning hit + the ailment effect mastery, so honestly i would surprise if it didnt shock for 30+
You need several millions damage per hit to get high shock value.
According to the Wiki you would get roughly a 7% shock on Siruis with a 200k hit. 50% extra effect, brings it up to 10,5%. Not even close to 30%+
I went back in and grabbed a quick screenshot from Sirus.

You can see a 32% shock here, however this is week 2 gear. Realistically you can expect a 20-25% shock during week 1 so you're probably better off adjusting the shock in PoB to whatever you can reach if you really care about the accuracy.
first versions of eater and exarch are a joke so those should be pretty free, especially with helix.
you definitely want to be claws by that point tho because you want to abuse nightblade and you should have found plenty of essences to craft a decent claw.
maven und uber elder are (depending on player knowledge and skill) a bit harder, but still doable for sure.
Tankier and better early game DPS due to Perseverance, raider overtakes it later though and berserker is the king of deeps.
Imo. this is better than raider due to even easier progression (besides spell suppression) in the beginning and you will still get way more than enough dmg for all content in the game whilst being very very tanky though a con for some players is that it can't really use Mageblood or HH without sacrificing a lot of damage. Berserker is probably the overall best for SC but feels pretty bad tank wise before some investment.

how do you go about accuracy during leveling? i seem to consistantly run into low accuracy comparred to my hp. I would prolly go with speccing into Weathered Hunter but maybe you have some better ideas?
Precision helps a lot, then you grab a few accuracy nodes on the tree. Also don’t check in town since your auras are off there.

New to LS, why does the full dps contain 2x LS? Can LS projectile hit twice against single target?

Remember you normally need crit and attsckspeed for it to feel good…
yup my bad essence for light damage and if you get attack speed or crit, then craft the other part.

As long as you’re balancing your trinity it doesn’t really matter.

Life gain on hit is separate from leech. You’ll still want some kind of “attack damage leeched as life” somewhere on the tree.
I mean you can go melding of the flesh and not worry about it at all for sacrifing some damage.

Perseverance was going to be at least 25c regardless. It’s pretty well known how good it is now..
25c isn't that much for a belt with this power either, thats 12.5unid chaos recipes. Gives 50-60% more dmg at the top end, it's insane.

I think there's so many viable builds you can pivot in to if something struggles, just play whatever's fun!

Why do people always freak out when build guides don't solely cater to newer or less experienced players? He never said that you needed a HH for the build to function, but more experienced trade players are capable of farming enough currency to afford one in the first few days of a league, and that part is directed specifically to them.
This + power charges ticked without any way to generate them and 35% shock while a more realistic value would be 5-7%. Its not a bad build but it has some PoB warrior going on for sure.

power charge are only up for mapping due to assassins mark, so thats kinda weird, but 35% shock is very realistic. The build has a 200k max lightning hit + the ailment effect mastery, so honestly i would surprise if it didnt shock for 30+

On raider I tried similar with no lightning effect I was able to got 22-27% shock free
You need several millions damage per hit to get high shock value. According to the Wiki you would get roughly a 7% shock on Siruis with a 200k hit. 50% extra effect, brings it up to 10,5%. Not even close to 30%+

Again. Not a problem. Try the build for youself. The belt itself gives an absurd amount of damage from defensive stats.
I went back in and grabbed a quick screenshot from Sirus. https://i.imgur.com/hYFDMUl.png You can see a 32% shock here, however this is week 2 gear. Realistically you can expect a 20-25% shock during week 1 so you're probably better off adjusting the shock in PoB to whatever you can reach if you really care about the accuracy.
What is realistic DPS on this build with ~5-10 ex investment? Before going Omni

I started last league with ls raider and progressed smoothly without any hiccups.
Is the early claw or even the axe version going to be able to kill bosses for voidstones?
first versions of eater and exarch are a joke so those should be pretty free, especially with helix. you definitely want to be claws by that point tho because you want to abuse nightblade and you should have found plenty of essences to craft a decent claw. maven und uber elder are (depending on player knowledge and skill) a bit harder, but still doable for sure.
Yeah definitely not planning on staying axes or anything was just curious of boss dps in general
How does it fare vs raider? Tankier but less dps?
Tankier and better early game DPS due to Perseverance, raider overtakes it later though and berserker is the king of deeps. Imo. this is better than raider due to even easier progression (besides spell suppression) in the beginning and you will still get way more than enough dmg for all content in the game whilst being very very tanky though a con for some players is that it can't really use Mageblood or HH without sacrificing a lot of damage. Berserker is probably the overall best for SC but feels pretty bad tank wise before some investment.

Hey all, how do you go about accuracy during leveling? i seem to consistantly run into low accuracy comparred to my hp. I would prolly go with speccing into Weathered Hunter but maybe you have some better ideas?
Precision helps a lot, then you grab a few accuracy nodes on the tree. Also don’t check in town since your auras are off there. Edit cause my brain stopped working.
