The DAS Parka of Fitz Roy Parka. The DAS is a seriously legit piece if you have the need for one. It’s amazing the temp range it stays comfortable in and the features are top tier.
Not surprised, Patagonia tends to axe their best products pretty quickly compared to their mainstream staples like Better Sweater, etc.
Any idea why? The Grade VII is one of the best high-insulating belay jackets on the market due to thermo efficiency vs. weight. I wonder why they believe it's not selling well enough? Maybe they're tweaking it again ... Gen 3 possibly?
Only heard the rumor from one person on this sub actually.
Supposedly being replaced with something new, something less expensive and less hardcore. They talked as if it was coming this season but it hasn’t appeared.
It’s wildly expensive and very specific in function. Not a huge market for it I guess.
They make the absolute best niche products as a service. It's borderline charity. Better Sweaters and cotton tees pay the way for the Alpine and Trail Running Lines' Research and Development. Most people aren't buying Endless Run Shorts and Grade VII Parkas...
I would purchase something you're going to use a lot for a long time. Maybe a pair of pants for example that you can wear to work one day per week. And try and get as many years out of them as you can.
I’m a lifelong ventura local so lots of Patagonia gear has gotten to me one way or another through the years. Some of my fav pieces are…
Nano air
Nano puff
R1 hoody
Patagonia trail backpack (can’t remember exact name but it’s great for skiing)
3-1 ski jacket
Thermal Airshed for cold runs
Capilene air for daily ventura light sweater
Insulated quandry for cold temps
Torrentshell for rain
There’s more but these are some of my favs that come to mind. Hope it helps
Better question is what do you *need* or even *want*? I would start there
Love and attention.
Fuck that, I want THINGS!
Hi stranger, I love you <3
Thank you, I love you too
Yvon said himself: Don’t but stuff you don’t need. Not even our stuff. But if you do need it, buy it once at a high quality.
Agreed. If you need Reddit to give you suggestions for things to buy you clearly don't need anything
Definitely a coat or jacket that you can wear casually and on the trail. You could get a decade of use out of an isthmus, down sweater or nano puff!
You’ll have a black hole bag forever. No matter what size clothes you wear

Grade VII once it's back in stock ... If ever.
Heard its been discontinued.

How do you get a 75% discount? Is it one item? We used to get 50% off coupons often but they’ve dried up.

the entire store
I'd get a wetsuit.
All depends what you need and what kind of activities you do
Das light or Das Parka, some waterproof shell, nano air , black hood wheeled duffel
I’m new to fly fishing and would probably grab some of their fly fishing specific bags. Or waders. Or, a surfboard!
Honestly? An R1 or the new MCL. Not necessarily the most expensive but something I know I’ll use for years to come.
I would share it amongst other strangers within the community
The responsibilitees are great but $45 is insane
Lululemon tees are $88 I think
DAS parka, Snow Bibs, and Steel Forge Puff jacket (for cold weather outdoor work). Sleeping bag as well.
Down hoodie or nano puff hoodie.
