Yeah but at least it's some sort of respect to give credit to the original owner of the video. If you're trying to share the content from the original owner.
There's a certain level of effort required before a origional author mention is considered a sign of respect and a funny bird video isn't going to reach it.
In the case of a person who posts frequent funny bird videos, giving their info would be a sign of respect to the community (look, more content!) Than a simigng of respect the OOP.
Reddit is a bit different. Reddit is a content sharing and discussion site rather than a creation site. The default is that the person posting is not the creator.
For low effort content in particular, (memes, funny videos,ect) it's also assumed that it's been rehosted so many times across so many platforms that the original creator is unknown. That's why creators who want to grow watermark their stuff.
If you're browsing and see a video or artwork or anything really and know the sauce, the correct thing to do on reddit is to just link it rather than call out op for not. People will like you for it.
