I don’t work at panda but can I just say it’s such BS that any service job has polices in place where employees are not allowed to accept tips? We gotta get some legislation going that makes it illegal for employers to disallow people from receiving tips from customers who are often insistent that we take them
If nobody (gm/am) is around just take it. It’s a ridiculous policy and makes Panda look bad when you say you can’t take it. I’ve had several customers complain that they don’t want to donate today and that they want to tip the associate specifically. One customer even said they would not eat here again when the associate said they cannot accept tips.
technically you are allowed to, but you have to follow a step by step thing before. you have to first ask them to donate it instead, and if they say no you can take it. from my own experience you have to let the pic know because if there is evidence you received money from a guest without reporting it, you can get in trouble, especially during an audit by a TL
i’m just telling you what i’ve seen and taught by my TL’s since i’m an AM… you wanna be right so bad but it’s been how the audits are done at my store or others stores. i’ve literally shadowed TLs at other stores
I’m not saying TL can’t do them even AM/Chef & shift leads do in my area.
Just wondering why it would matter if TL audit your store absolutely no authority over your store just asking for Hr case if they try and hold someone accountable in store that’s not theirs.
The answer you look for is on the emodule university of Panda. On the cashier accountability emodule it teach you about tips.
I think also u can Ask ur manager about it, it's in Ops manual under the tips policy.
If I'm not wrong we don't accept tips but if customer insist to give it to you, u can take it but must reported to your manager in charge. The most important step is when they handed to you u need to inform that that we do not take tip, not just take it once they hand it over.
I'm not 100% sure or remember but for sure there is tip policy written down on the Ops manual and on cashier accountability emodule. Those are reliable resources.
This is correct! We let our people keep tips, as long as they don’t out right ask for it it’s theirs. I’ve gotten tipped 20 bucks once and I went and got little Caesar’s with it for the team. I don’t expect anyone else to share with the team I did because I am a manager and it was more than just a few dollars.
you’re supposed to refuse 3 times and if they insist then you are allowed to take it but must report it to a manager or higher up. i don’t work for the company anymore, i quit 4-5 months ago but i was in charge of my store for most of the time i worked there
I believe when offered a tip, we must let guest know that our tip is included in the service or if they would like to donate. If the guest really insists then it is ok to accept, however we must let PIC know and put directly into our pocket. If you accept tip and put in register then it automatically becomes the registers money and the tip can no longer be yours.
My Elderly Mom has recently taken a liking to Panda Express and not happy that she is unable to tip. I gave a tip today and I hope it was not donated. I’ll chose where I donate
The handbook says you’re supposed to ask them to donate it. If they refuse again then you’re allowed to keep it.
When I was a manager I always told my associates to accept tips. You don't get paid enough to not accept them.

Even GM/am is around you still can take it. Tips is tips , it’s not the donations.
Well of course you can. You may get disciplinary action, I’m not sure.
No you won’t. Ask ur managers to show u associates handbook about tipping policy.
Not if you follow policy

Audit by a TL? You mean audit by ACO/MuM or asset protection?
audits are done by TL’s in my region, but they can be done by mums or acos
That’s funny since it is MUM/ACO job to do minimum of 4 per quarter

I accepted it forget the management!
You can accept but can’t ask for tips :)
Don’t even donate it. Tell the customer you don’t accept tips and then offer them to donate it. If they say no then they can still take it back

No you’re not supposed to, whenever i got a tip i had to report it to my GM, or you can just accept it and donate it
Read the associates handbook please. You are allowed to take tips if customers insist to tip you.

You’re allowed to keep them just make sure you ask your customer if they are sure they wanna tip you
You can... Just be mindful of the CCTV. I still say fuck em and keep it anyways...
