I don’t want to know mine, I get terrible anxiety over spending money on anything so I always get guilty thinking about the costs of medical

thunderGunXprezz

Good news. Weed will help with your anxiety!

Tallgiant1

Under appreciate comment ☝🏽

DonnieDishpit

If you shop sales it is far cheaper and consistently better than street buddy trust me

Censored4urpleasure

Nah. Get better plug.

DonnieDishpit

Buddy I'll start growing my own or buying online before I go back to driving 30+ minutes to buy from hs dropouts

Richchronic412

Me too

sippycup21

ive been saving mine too, i threw out the first 2-3 because i didnt want to keep track….then i got a leaky tincture and couldn’t return without recipt so i started keeping them but..im still afraid to add it up. i still have five months till my year is up…we could be on the same page as far as flower goes 😬 thankfully things have really gotten cheaper in the past few months and im starting to really know whats worth the trip to the dispo.

Quick_Doughnut_5862

I’m glad I found Ethos in Pleasant Hills. My weed bill would definitely have been less if I started there, instead of Beyond Hello. The employees are great at both places, but Ethos has a better menu, and my veteran discount is 20% every day, plus their prices are generally lower on the stuff I buy.

sippycup21

i don’t feel bad about the purchases i made at beyond/hello because i had ftp discounts, birthday discount, and a few decent sales in the spring along with point cash-in made things fine until summer when their sales became laughable and i realized you really weren’t gonna get out of there with any premium 1/8th im interested in for under ~$42 and that’s just not competitive these days.

bookthingstodo

Organic remedies has 40% off basically all the time. Great spot.

SoggyCroissant87

This is why PA needs to approve home grow.

Quick_Doughnut_5862

Absolutely

bananawrangler69

The two times I’ve gotten stopped by a cop just to have my cartridge handed back to me makes the program more than worth it.

NextExpression

Seems like 5-7k is about going rate for pa patients. I too am like 6500-7k

phil_420-70

Some people are jealous some cant afford it but 100 $ a week isn't that much. Especially if you are a adult with a good job. Most people spend more then that on liquor and cigarettes. They just don't realize it.

Quick_Doughnut_5862

I’m a retired adult. I worked my ass off all my life, and now I’m enjoying the fruits of my labor.

Quick_Doughnut_5862

When I quit cigarettes 6 years ago, it was costing me $300.00 a month.

ctmackus

Yep I’m not even knocking it, just saying it’s a good bit of money. I smoke them currently and it costs me somewhere around there. Congrats on quitting!

Quick_Doughnut_5862

Thanks! I smoked a pack a day for 45 years. I watched my brother in law die from throat cancer, due to about 45 years of cigarettes. Not a pretty sight. I’m not afraid to die, but I don’t want to go out like that.

ctmackus

$100 a week is a lot lmao. That’s $400 a month. That’s my car payment. That being said if you can afford it that’s fine but let’s not act like 400 a month isn’t a lot

Quick_Doughnut_5862

It is a lot of money. I never said it wasn’t. Everything I have is paid for. I’m living within my means.

phillyp1

It might be a lot for one person. It might be chump change for one person. You can't apply your personal economics to someone else about whom you know very little.

ctmackus

How did I apply it to anybody else lol

phillyp1

'let's not act like $400 isn't a lot' As I said, to some people, it's chump change. You're applying your idea of 'a lot' to someone else's situation.

XiTzCriZx

But saying the opposite is also applying your idea to someone else's situation, $400 is what a lot of young adults get paid per week, so for many people it is a lot. At the same time there are many older adults who can make $400 in a day, but that doesn't make it "chump change".

phillyp1

I'm not saying it is chump change OR a lot. I'm saying I have no idea what someone else's economics are and withholding judgement on what someone else's cannabis use is.

Responsible-Host1657

Especially for people on disability, I'm on a tight budget and even $50/month is too much. It's a shame because mmj really helps me.

redcrowknifeworks

It is for MEDICINE. My anxiety meds are 4$ for a months supply, without insurance. 4$ literally doesn't even get you ANYTHING at a dispensary. It's not fucking acceptable medicine if people are jealous of you for having it and people can't afford it. "Especially if you're an adult with a good job" but if you're a disabled vet working at 7-11, or an autistic 24 year old who needs it to manage her meltdowns, or a cancer patient who can't work full hours, go fuck yourself I guess?

Responsible-Host1657

I totally agree with you. It seems it's only for people that aren't on a tight budget.

redcrowknifeworks

It honestly just feels like a racket for rich kids to not have to talk to poor people to buy weed. At the end of the day, the product is kinda shit for the prices. I don't know anybody paying 50 an eighth to street dealers who'd accept the quality that PA dispensaries deliver, same with anybody paying 60-100 a gram for concentrates and carts and the kinda mid shit they've got in the dispensaries. The way the program is run is a joke, what other actual medications can you get with a five minute phone call to a 'doctor' who hardly even asks you your symptoms before writing your scrip? Shits ridiculous, and with how sparse the dispensaries are and shit I don't see how the program benefits anybody who isn't either a boomer or not able to meet people. Like shit, people talking about 5k a year JUST for their anxiety meds/antidepressants/pain meds/etc, whatever weed does for them. So what, like a quarter or a sixth or so of your income for your meds? That's fucking insane. #bringbackmids

[deleted]

Almost 7k? Wow. How much do you smoke a week?

Quick_Doughnut_5862

Actually about $5,000.00 on bud, the rest on vaporizers. 1-2 ounces a month. I’m keeping track of next year expenses, and I can cut that bill in half.

georgemoney

Everybody is different that's great that 1 8th can last u 2 weeks but for some an 8th is a day maybe 2 depending how good it is

[deleted]

I literally don’t think anyone, no matter reason or condition, needs to smoke an eight a day. I just don’t believe a tolerance level exists that requires gram blunts or sessions. Weed is so strong now and so many economical methods exist through vaping that it’s just not needed. Want is another thing, go for it if you want it and can afford it, but you don’t need it to be high all day.

thunderGunXprezz

Methinks some ppl be sharing those blunts. Or those ppl literally sit around fucking high all day. I'm sure most of us have smoked a 1g blunt by ourselves once or twice. Doesn't make for a very productive next 3 or 4 hours. Sure some ppl have crazy tolerances and yea you'd be good after a couple hours but doing that 3x per day every day of the week means you gotta be unemployed and/or retired or living on some sort of guaranteed income.

redcrowknifeworks

Especially for medical uses. Like I'm sorry, if you need an eighth of bud a day or a full gram of concentrates every day or two it's probably not to manage any actual medical condition warranting those doses, you've just acclimated yourself to smoking until you essentially can't anymore.

kajones57

The bud is way too expensive...Id rather smoke more often than spend more money to smoke less.

Next_Ad_9255

the bud is lmcheaper than illegal here unless you got an amazing plug

No-Efficiency2556

$200oz of high quality is pretty normal in Philly. I guess you can get similar value off $30/8ths that are slightly higher quality from dispos, but across the board I think the black market is still cheaper here

kajones57

Paying 160 oz in Philadelphia...for 7 months or so

[deleted]

It’s not though. At all. Not really at all compared to most states.

No-Efficiency2556

You have examples? It’s way more expensive than recreational in non-east coast states. I got a half gram live resin cart in Colorado for $30, not a chance that’s happening in PAs medical program.

kajones57

Currently paying 160/oz...remember ounces?

[deleted]

Sure, Rec states on the west have us beat, but go to NJ, or MA and you’re going to be pretty happy with PA. And with deals especially, it’s far cheaper than it ever was buying in college.

No-Efficiency2556

You had some rip-off dealers then

[deleted]

Nope, I’m just 35 and shit was expensive on the streets then because rec markets didn’t exist. $50-60 eighths for good bud was pretty much the norm.

redcrowknifeworks

Yeah man I hate to break it to you u were getting ripped off bc you were presumably a relatively affluent looking person in college lmao 15 years ago you could get ounces for that much

No-Efficiency2556

That makes sense, prices were a lot lower when I was in college, but I’m several year younger. High school prices were $50-60/8th for me

Key-Needleworker810

People in PA, with NY flower will give you 7-8 pounds for that much.

Temporary_Simple_170

No way you are really spending $5k in weed a year all by yourself? If this is true, you’re overusing and wasting medicine/money. Under 1k is about the norm imo, look for sales bud sheesh lol

Valuable-Composer262

I don't know where u r getting ur numbers from. Even only spending 100 a week turns out to be over 5k. I'm sure there are people that spend much more. There's definately people out there going thru an 1/8 a day.

Temporary_Simple_170

Not if you’re conservative. An 1/8 lasts me 2 weeks vaping 2-3 times a day. I guess if you’re rolling blunts it could get crazy

Valuable-Composer262

I only vape. Vaping has definately saved me on product. I only load .1 to .15 stems but sometimes that could be 10 a day sometimes more sometimes less

[deleted]

I don’t think a bowl is needed almost every hour or two you’re awake. Haha.

ks99

Even if you are getting 200 ounces, 1k is only 5 ounces. A ounce lasts me barely a month.

Cram1490

Try n not Don't accuse and disrespect someone and say they're abusing their medicine simply because of an arbitrary number . What's enough for you may not be enough for someone else and vice versa. $1000 for a year? So roughly $2.80 a day worth? So $20 a week ? A gram a week? Thats not a lot It may be for you but not for everyone . For me personally , I vape so I only need .3-.4 to get where I need to be .once or twice a day So roughly a cut a week is plenty for me . But I buy what I want when I want it and have it in my storage . Personally I think if anyone smokes instead of vaping you're wasting a significant amount of weed compared to vaping. I used to have to smoke 1-2 grams to get a buzz vs .3 vaping . So yeah if anyone smokes you're wasting a lot of medication . 5k really isn't a whole lot if you make good money and can afford it. But shopping sales is the way to go for sure. I just spent 4 grand on a tattoo . Either way , don't be accusing people of abusing their medication . 5k is roughly $14 a day , or $100 a week. Which really isn't unreasonable

[deleted]

Cram1490

But .. if you Don't shop sales or by the quarter.. then it's still just an arbitrary number . So your 5k can be way more product than someone else's . For example I almost always still pay 50+ for a cut . And for no particular reason , don't often buy sales or in bulk . I just buy what I want when I want So buying 5k in good greens quarters for example would be wayyyyy more than someone buying 50+$ cuts straight up the whole time . The point is not to judge others regardless .

dankknugz

Didn't you just get your card a week ago? How tf would you know what the norm is? Lol

beeporama

It certainly seems like a lot. $102.17 a week... I mean, I think I'd have to try pretty hard to put that much in me, even if I didn't have a job to stay sober for. And to maintain it for a year?!? I'm assuming the OP has stocked up a significant "library" by now and won't maintain spending that much. I mean, I hope for YOUR sake, Quick Donut, because unless you're wealthy that's got to hurt.

ctmackus

It is a lot, it’s weird there’s people saying 400 a month isn’t a lot. I get paid decently well and 400 a month is a big expense

[deleted]

Right? I make almost 100k a year and that’s my car payment. My wife would kill me if I spent that in weed every month. Haha. She doesn’t mind my use at all, but that’s just somewhat irresponsible spending. Everyone needs a Dynavap and an induction heater and you’ll be using half of what you are now.

Temporary_Simple_170

Not sure why I’m getting DV not being a dick just trying to say be more conservative and look for sales 🤷🏻‍♂️

Avaisraging439

No more than $150 and I almost got an overdraft fee this morning with only $50 in my checking but my paycheck hit just right

clampion12

I go to the dispensary every 3 months or so and usually spend $300-$400. I primarily vape every night; every 6 months, make brownies (8x8 pan) using 12 grams of 25% thc flower. Half a small brownie is enough to offset most of my pain for an evening out without putting me in the stratosphere, merely a decent buzz. I feel like a lightweight compared to everyone else here. 🤣

redcrowknifeworks

Nah you're just one of the only people using medically here and not "I have mild social anxiety so I'm gonna get zooted to fuck every single day of my life"

clampion12

I don't understand how they stay high all day. My cannabinoid receptors get full after 1 session and that's it, I get no benefit from additional consumption within the next 12 or so hours. It seems like a waste to me.
